Aquinas wrote:"OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done party-to-party rather than player-to-player. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Thanks for spotting that; it has now been edited.

CCP wrote:Here's another possibility for the nation random facts (don't know if Cobura already has one):

There are two countries based on Egypt in the game. Cobura is based on modern Egypt with a retro twist, while Hawu Mumenhes is based on Ancient Egypt with a futuristic twist.

"Modernist" might be better than "futuristic," I'm not sure.

Added, and went with "modernist", since "futuristic" might be a little confusing (especially since there is a rule explicitly again RP that is too obviously futuristic/sci-fi).

"The Communist revolution is the most radical rupture with traditional property relations; no wonder that its development invloves the most radical rupture with traditional ideas." Karl Marx

Just wanted to point out that there is a spelling error in this quote.

Whilst I'm here, how about including this Tony Blair classic:
'Mine is the first generation able to contemplate the possibility that we may live our entire lives without going to war or sending our children to war.'

It is better to abolish serfdom from above than wait for it to abolish itself from below

The most famous quote by Alexander II of Russia.
Sorry if it is already on there.

Added all of those and fixed the typo.

Keep these coming!

Personally, I think we could do with some in-game quotes. ie. notable things in-game characters have said.

Why not promote the World Congress Security Council election, and the Council itself, under Random Facts? Give a brief description of the purpose of the organization, link to the relevant Forum thread, and encourage people to vote.
Coaliție Unitate Centru
A sensible alternative for all of the Confederation's peoples.

Make sure your nation casts its nominations in Particracy's very own Security Council elections! For more information, see viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6912

Good idea. Added the one above.

Wonderful idea. Here's one:

"Zardugal. . . very successfully almost managed to implement democracy on a global scale, a millennia ago. With a seat in the Security Council we can do it again." ~Dr. Phoebe Ĥoniato, The Face of Stop the Slavers - Vote for Zardugal, a campaign supporting Zardugal's bid for the 4112 World Congress Security Council elections

I think this very successful almost implemented World Congress is going to give us quotable quotes on a global scale.

Another gem:

Thousands of Zardic soldiers were sacrificed so that the Zardic government could gain control of a few buildings and Theodoro could pretend to be Augustus the Great. This is the kind of jingoistic ideology Zardugal would bring to the Security Council. They will throw countless lives away in pursuit of former glory. ~Prince Akhaias of Cobura invoking the Tokundi War of Independence in opposition to Zardugal's bid for 4112 World Congress Security Council
