Random Events

Postby cm9777 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 7:23 am

Hi, I have heard from some people about these random events that can happen but have never personally seen one outside of a 10-year-old screenshot. Does anyone know if they are still around? If so I'd be interested in looking through some of them. I've also seen one where Aloria's President got assassinated. Also wondering if events such as that actually change the character in that office.

Random events are periodically generated in the in-game newspapers (eg. United States of Baltusia Daily). By convention, they are not considered necessarily binding, and I think most players (yourself included, it seems!) do not not even notice them.

Here are a few examples of random events, drawn from the in-game World News/"Global Gazette":

http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews. ... sid=646507
http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews. ... sid=646495
http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews. ... sid=646494
http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews. ... sid=646476

BTW, opinion polls on issues are also periodically generated in the in-game newspapers. eg. http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews. ... &nation=48

In answer to your other question, I'm not aware of random events being able to kill off characters & remove them from office etc. through the game mechanics.

Uh I believe there are random events that do assassinate characters. Mostly heads of state.

Indeed, but players don't have to pay attention to them (and most of the time they don't even notice them!). My point is that these random assassinations don't (so far as I am aware) actually remove the character's name from the nation page.

I thought they did...I remember a few times where people were unhappy about this. Perhaps it was just an RP mechanic.
