updated protocols for Egelion. Small change, simply reinstating the Ghadrashi language and minority which has always been an important part of Egelion but in the latest protocols and lumped in the 'other' category

Note: you can see the Ghadrash language in all past protocols: (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=399288, http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=481863, http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=482332, http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=478003) but then it was deleted without discussion in the latest one

I will take this under review, however, I will note that "Ghadrashi" perhaps might be outdated considering Syldavian is the in-game equivalent to Hungarian. I'm also note sure of any significant history related to Egelion and Endralon.

Yes but Ghadrashi has been an integral part of Egelion since forever, it would be retcon to cancel it. Ghadrashi (Hungarian) culture and names have been used in RP and for party/people names always.

Ghadrash is one of the provinces of Egelion where Ghadrashi culture has always existed.

I guess it can be explained this way: Ghadrashi language/culture was anciently connected to the one in Endralon (we can call this proto-Syldavian language), but when Selucian colonization created Egelion culture, Ghadrashi was the only surviving pocket of proto-Syldavian in Egelion.

As stated, I will review this and give it the customary 48 hour comment period and then after that I will make my final decision.

my notes:

Ghadrash is one of the provinces of Egelion where Ghadrashi culture has always existed.

I guess it can be explained this way: Ghadrashi language/culture was anciently connected to the one in Endralon (we can call this proto-Syldavian language, they are on the same continent), but when Selucian colonization created Egelion culture, Ghadrashi was the only surviving pocket of proto-Syldavian in Egelion.

If the problem is that there's different names for the same language, I don't see that as an issue. Spanish has many Terra counterparts, and in the real world the Serbian/Croatian or Dutch/Flemish divide is an example of the same or similar languages with different names based on location.

Having Hungarian(s) in two different places under two different names with two different origins (so not counting New Endralon) to no gameplay or roleplay benefit is already rather silly; making that three, when 'Ghadrashi' hasn't even been mentioned on the forum until today and there's next to nothing on the wiki about it, would just be ludicrous. If there needs to be a minority language, couldn't it be one currently absent from the game?

Also, to my knowledge, Spanish does not have "many Terra counterparts".

They're not on the same continent. Egelion's neighbour is New Endralon, originating as a colony of Endralon.

Ghadrash has been part of Egelion's cultural protocols for a very long time (see above) and that has never been raised as an issue before.

The earliest cultural protocols of Egelion mention Ghadrash in 3597 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=399288) before the earliest cultural protocols of Endralon in 3700 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=413306)

And yes, there is plenty on the wiki: https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Ghadrash. Also, on the wiki, Ghadrash has been Hungarian since 2009 https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Csal ... ldid=61020

I understand and am happy to, find a way to make it make more sense, but the idea that Ghadrash doesn't deserve recognition cause it's a recent invention makes no sense.

There could be two routes, either a 1) common origin Endralon and Egelion are not far apart, even if not on the same continent, or 2) a remnant of Endralonian colonization on Keris from the time of New Endralon colonization 9although this requires retcon)

The wiki is loosely canon in most instances. I should also mention that the mere presence of a "culture" in a cultural protocol does not mean that the culture is necessarily important or realistic to be within the cultural protocol.

Yes but the Ghadrashi minority is an important socio-political aspect of the history of Egelion. In RP it has been featured on all the cultural protocols, new articles, and party and individual names in election history have been in line with the existance of the Ghadrash culture. Canceling it would be a pretty major retcon.

Cultural protocol update for Selucia: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=650924

Differences from current version:

* 15% decline in Hosianism
* 10% increase in Paganism
* 5% increase in Irreligious
* small amendment to introduction clarifying the regional cultures of the three islands

The change in religious demographics is a result of the discrediting of the main Hosian Churches due to their capitulation to government pressure, as well as continuous rule by state atheist or Pagan supremacist parties in the centuries (RL year) since the last cultural protocol. If needed I can share links to relevant RP.

I’ll leave this open for the 48 hour period window and I’ll review.
