States of emergency

Dorvik has a law letting the Head of State enforce a totalitarian state of emergency which the national legislature can only stop by a “unanimous vote” (see section 3).

Is this allowed?

I moved this for you to the right section. The section you posted this in original is not meant for those type of questions.

I believe that's an old reading of the law that I never unfortunately updated, I know it's an old bill. Ill pass another one with the correct name however!

But you should read the rules regarding RP laws located here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8088#p145763

Thank you for changing the law. It feels fairer now the legislature can end a state of emergency by majority vote.

I am confused about what you mean by “the correct name”.

Another question is, who controls King Lothar II? Is it the party in power?

Lastly, this law: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=614369

Parties “affiliated with far-left or left ideologies such as Communism, Socialism or Liberalism are prohibited”, as are “parties which are anti-monarchy, anti-nobility or overall republican in nature”.

The scope of definition here is extraordinarily arbitrary. It could be construed to apply to almost every mainstream political party in the world today.

My party was initially denied reactivation because my party description said “Reformpartei campaigns to restore full democracy and liberty to Dorvik”. I had to explain twice my party is moderate conservative, not based on any of the banned ideologies and wants to repeal the restrictions on political parties.

The Moderators held a conference to decide if this would be allowed. Lucky for me they let me play. But the problem now is I’m terrified to participate in bill debates or anything in case something I write is construed as illegal and I log in one evening to find my party banned again. Now I’m on the forum I would like to write about my party in the newspaper as well, but I’m scared to do that for the same reason. When the law is so arbitrary, and when merely using the words “democracy” and “liberty” brings you under suspicion, you feel you are walking on eggshells, being breathed down your neck.

It appears the only safe strategy is to vote on bills and do or say nothing else.

So what I am asking here is, is there any way this experience can be more stimulating and exciting?

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

No answer?

My party is banned AGAIN this time FALSELY accused of using a proxy server. I’m sorry but I’m really beginning to feel Im getting RIDICULOUSLY unfairly targeted deliberately. Thinking of giving up on this game now.

Your welcome to come to Likatonia, we have a wide array of ideologies (right now 7 parties 6 with seats) and we haven't banned any beliefs (however most parties stand against communism).

Just as a note for everyone looking at this, this was handed over to Vescia as are 99.9% of issues that arise in Dorvik or any other nation that I may play in. The same happens when an issue arises in Hutori or any nation that Vescia plays in. It provides a neutral and objective way for us to handle issues.

On an unrelated note, is it Vescia or Vesica? You see I keep writing 'Vesica' but you keep writing 'Vescia' so now I'm befuddled.

edit: this is not the ideal thread to have asked this on but I y'know

Whats the question you were asking?

Further, we generally don't discuss publicly the reason for deactivations, however if you'd like to PM me here, I will gladly go over the reasons with you privately.

As for Likatonia, you are more then free to play there, as long as the same IP issues don't pop up.
