Sagra Bugidai, Foreign Minister of the Republic of New VerhamEsteemed colleagues, as no one has voted against and two members in favor, Xsampa has been accepted as a observer state. I would immediately like to move on to the next topic, concerning the growing migrant crisis my country is facing in the Sea of Carina. Poverty, drought and a lack of opportunity has caused our brethren in the east to flee their country and find shelter in western Dovani. In recent months, we have seen a clear uptick in the number of migrants seeking asylum in New Verham. Thousands have died according to our estimates in a attempt to cross the Sea of Carina, drowning in their makeshift boats. This is a situation that forces us to take action. New Verham is welcoming all it can, but we have seen problems occuring and our provinces and agencies are having a hard time ensuring that we can shelter and process arrivals properly. The Republic hereby calls on fellow member states to help us in this endeavour. I propose that the Committee of Ministers issues a joint statement that expresses our desire to work together in overcoming this crisis and expressing our committment to humanitarianism. We would also ask our Lourennaise colleagues if they are open to signing a agreement with the Republic of New Verham, which would allow us to send some of those seeking asylum to Lourenne and either await their application there or apply for asylum in Lourenne itself. It would aleviate most pressure we are currently experiencing while at the same time showing that the Dovanian Council is ready to act jointly when necessary.
