Cardinal Vladan Martinek: rightful leader of Deltaria
For six years, my spiritual and political hero and mentor, Cardinal Vladan Martinek, led the most progressive government Deltaria has seen in decades, helping the poor to access education and health services, curbing the terrible abuses of slavery and reducing the absolutist powers of the Czar. Just as importantly, he mended Deltaria's troubled relationship with neighbours like Zardugal, bringing the days of confrontation and war to an end. We have Martinek to thank for bringing peace, reconciliation and justice not only to Deltaria but to southern Majatra and, more broadly, to the whole of Terra. He is a gift to us all, and we must thank Boh for his life and achievements.
To the immense regret of ordinary Deltarians, in October last year anti-Hosian Czarist extremists rigged the election and took control. Not happy with just seizing power for themselves, they brutally beheaded 10 of our former ministers and imprisoned another for 3 years. Cardinal Vladan Martinek, our much-loved national leader, was heinously blinded with a red-hot iron and then forcibly confined to the Monastery of Saint Volos in Kéjencvár, where he is unable to communicate with the outside world. At a time like this, Deltaria needs its national hero more than ever, but he is unable to reach us because the Czarists have him under lock and key. We suspect they are slowly starving and poisoning him, hoping he will just go away. But we must not forget him. It is our moral duty to fight for his freedom and for the freedom of the Deltarian people. We must fight to ensure Cardinal Vladan Martinek's vision never dies.
My supporters and I are therefore calling on you, the people and political leaders of Terra, to join our Martinek Freedom Campaign, and do all in your power to put pressure on the Deltarian government to release the man the suffering Deltarian people need the most.
