It is not yet clear whether the arrangement is planned to be formalised in a treaty, or if it was intended to be kept as a secret, informal pact. Recently Keymon once again fell under the control of the Imperial National Party after a break of over 120 years. The party wasted no time, moving at lightning speed to restore the grace and favours enjoyed by their old friends, the fat cats of Karav Financial Services. Soon after the INP moved to join the Lodamise embargo against Solentia, thereby ending a friendship between the two nations which has lasted the past few hundred years. The Independent has seen leaked official documents detailing the curt response made by Dr.Cornelius Hentschel, the Keymon Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Solentian governments request for clarification on this matter,
We would like to stand united with Lodamun’s foreign policy.
If all this wasn’t convincing enough, next came the sickening spectacle of the INP’s 156 representatives in the Royal Assembly passing a resolution ‘Hailing the Karavs!’, apparently for their great achievements. The details of these supposed achievements was not specified. While it is unclear what the INP stands to gain from their unquestioned loyalty to the Lodamise, no doubt KFS will reap rich rewards from their involvement within Keymon.
The history behind these events make them all the more intriguing given that the INP was formally an integral member of the Congress for Liberty, so despised by the Karavs. Even with Cornelius Royaliwith, a Former Chairman of the Imperial National Party, serving on the Executive Council of the organisation. It was indeed the self same ‘hawkish’ Cornelius Royaliwith of the INP who drafted the ill fated
Military Proposal which included contingencies for a Supreme Army of the CfL and a road map for international intervention. Upon his election to the EC he declared,
We must peruse a rapid expansion of building up the image and diplomatic stances with all nations in order to secure our future. All threats to democratic ideas and establishments must be listed in order to allow us to see potential allies and nations that oppose freethinking ideas and enlightenments. A grand military should be our second priority to allow us to deal with threats directly and efficiently.
So 200 years later the Independent came up with our own list of threats to democratic ideas, freethinking, and enlightenment. Where do you think we looked first?
You have probably guessed... Yes all in Lodamun...and yes all supported by the National Republican Guard. Oh yes, and this is just from the past 10 years. Maybe these are the 'great achievements' the INP's 'Hail' refers to?
