World Trade Center

Postby federalist11 » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:24 am

This poll should hopefully help resolve where the WTC should be located to house the Terra Stock Market. Companies may revote strategically. The nominees are Lodamum, Mordusia, Beiteinu, Beluzia, or Other. If Other wins, there shall be a revote. Due to its closer proximity to Davostag, we shall vote for Lodamum.

A neutral country is the only viable option.

Placing a major stock exchange in a nation that may be prone to declaring war or joining wars against other members of the stock exchange could bring devastation to the Terran economy.

If the members of this stock exchange are willing to take that risk, then so be it. However, Indrala will stick with the safer choice, that of Mordusia.

Arve Zwart, Premier of the Free Republic of Mordusia, has invited all representatives to endorse the settlement of the Terran Stock Exchange in Mordusia.

"We are a nation of free spirits, of entrepreneurship, peace, open markets - and open borders. I believe the Free Republic is the best guarantee for the well-being of the stock exchange."

The Premier also pointed to the fact the country opened an International House of Justice in Gift of Zechariah and has served as a negotiator in international conflicts.

Barmenia refuses to take part in a poll that mentions Beluzia, but does not mention Barmenia's Conference City.

If Beluzia wins, Barmenia will pull out of this exchange.

We also oppose the democratic notion of having a blind vote determine the location of the exchange. We reiterate our earlier stance that votes should be weighted by shareprice so as to ensure that those who are the most valuable get the most say. A democratic vote strikes us as communistic.

Whoever wins this contest will no doubt have the majority shares, our shares are relatively equal being between 80 and 140. However, I do propose that the top 2 nations shall have a revote. I also anticipate that those who voted for nations that have very few votes may change their minds in the coming years. The Barmenians should be patient and wait this process out.

This process is a farce. This poll is not even limited to parties affiliated with the Stock Exchange. This is is the equivalent of having a workers' commune decide state policy. In fact, a workers' commune would at least have the sence to limit the voting to workers, as opposed to letting any random party walk in and vote on matters unrelated to themselves.

This is another example of Davostagi irresponsibility in terms of financial planning.

The opinion of the treacherous Barmenians cannot be allowed to sway the financial community. Anyone who votes in this poll is either already part of the Terra Stock Market or will be soon enough. In the next poll, it shall be limited to only seven votes which is the number of registered companies. If it exceeds seven at any point in time, we will have caught our spy.

The voting has already passed 7. It's clear that a certain nation is rigging this process.

Shareholders are angered by the election as proof continues to roll in that it was rigged. Thus far 9 votes have been registered, despite only 7 companies being on the exchange.

Beluzian Interests Declared

Foreign Minister Kuznetsov Made an Announcement:
To increase the value of the nation's investment in the Mordusian Institute of Economic Research, we may support Mordusia for the hosting of the Terran Stock Market. Our government spends 564,000,000 LOD per year to fund the project. I expect support from the Hetman, though we are still open to hosting the structure, ourselves.
