OOC: Selcru/Kubrick, do you think we ought to amend the elector numbers to lower Pontesi's and raise Vanuku's? I see each as sort of having flipped spots in the Jelbosphere, but I also haven't followed Pontesi close enough. Let me know.

Jelbék Haján Intrsmor Azisrmko Knzmazrk claims title Jelb'koékaiék Mrjkai, asks Electoral Committee to recognize him
October 20, 3986

Intrsmor Azisrmko Knzmazrk has laid claim to the title 'Jelb'koékaiék Mrjkai,' Protector of the Jelbic Peoples, announcing himself formally as 'Mrjkai yrzy Jelb'koékaiék Haján yrzy Intrsmor Azisrmko Knzmazrk' - Khan and Protector of the Jelbic Peoples.

This claim is bound to be controversial, given that the title is technically electoral and is claimed as well by the Vanukese Prince Juhn III, who calls himself the "rightful" Protector and who is embroiled in another title dispute with the Zardics.

Intrsmor Azisrmko has formally requested that the Electoral Committee for the Jelbic Protectorate vote and announce its support for him as the Mrjkai. Never since the first institution of the title by the Deltarian Czar Lubomir Čestibor has the title been claimed officially without a vote of the Electoral Committee. The Vanukese were diplomatic in choosing the terminology "rightful" - but the Jelbék Khan is not renowned for his diplomatic finesse.

The Khan maintains that Prince Juhn III is hardly Jelbic at all, and that the Jelbic Peoples and the Augustans are natural enemies, and thus that Juhn has invalidated his claim to be the protector of the Jelbic Peoples by claiming that he is Emperor of the Augustans as well.

OK, that said... IC:

Jelbania casts her five votes for Intrsmor Azisrmko Knzmazrk.
Just a bunch of shit.

OOC: I looked at the list and thought it to be quite backwards as well like this. I think the votes were divided when Vanuku was still mainly Dutch, while as now it is mainly Jelbic.

The Principality of Vanuku, the strongest and wisest Jelbic brother, denounces the false claim of the Khan of Jelbania. It is clear that this upstarted horse milker has no respect for the ancient traditions of the Jelbic rulers, seeing as he has alread claimed the title before even winning the elections. Our wise and just ruler, Prince Juhn III, knows he is the rightful Protector solely because his ancestor, the mighty Khagan, was a true and just Protector elected unanimously by the Committee.

Therefore Vanuku will cast her votes in favour of Prince Juhn III. The only true choice. His bloodline is pure, his rule is just, his mind is wise, his armies are the strongest of the world. Only this man can protect the Jelbics.

OOC: How does this sound:

Jelbania: 5 votes
Vanuku: 5 votes
Barmenia: 3 votes
Pontesi: 2 votes
Deltaria: 1 vote

Though this would lead to an interesting IC situation, assuming Barmenia supports Vanuku and Pontesi/Deltaria support Jelbania - a tie. Perhaps we could come up with some cool Jelbic tradition for such an occasion - a riding challenge, maybe? Or a battle to the death, or a spirit journey into the steppe, though I'm not sure how you'd win that... Thoughts?

OOC: I like the idea of a tie and I also think the new points system better represents the current state of the Jelbosphere.

I doubt Juhn could win a traditional Jelbic challenge, he's 60 now. Perhaps there is an ancient tradition that allows champions to represent the chiefs? I'm sure the Banmek-Sntazeds have a very traditional dynasty branch who could put forward a very conservative steppe warrior. The winner of course to be determined by RP, nowadays the Protector title is more ceremonial.

OOC: Intrsmor Azisrmko is about 60 as well - a regular battle of old men :)

I like the idea of champions. I think the Hajan will choose not to use one regardless of his age, and use it as a propaganda piece against you.

We'll see how the voting goes. Selcru, oakwood and kylejenkins, feel free to cast votes, even if it's not for either of our candidates :)

OOC: Haha, I think the Prince considers himself too divine and royal to enter a battle like a common warrior. All in all he's just a constitutional monarch with little to no power after the Vahri and Bucék reforms.

OOC: Interestingly enough, I don't think his sister would want to return home; she actually had equal power as Queen under the law, and maintains influence as Dowager Queen. Maybe his nephew could do this? Meh. Though I believe Barmenia should maintain its five votes. Its been way more active than Jelbania.

IC: Barmenia casts its three votes for Vanuku, pending the Prince's concession of his claim to the title of Emperor of the Augustans. It is the belief of many within Majarta that such claim is divisive and not needed at this time, and while one such arrogant man once claimed the title 'Autocrat of All Majartans' it should be known that that man is dead and we should forget him. The time has come to focus on what matters most. Regarding that, only the Prince himself can decide.

OOC: I think itd be realistic to see the Jelbic people divided with two people who claim the throne, atleast for the duration of the war in Majatra, a war that hopefully starts soon

IC: The nation of Deltaria would like to cast one vote for Azi Klunesrmko Baokrt of Jelbania, the Prince of Vanaku is a pretender.
