Pápež Condemns Trigunian Communist Regime

Image

Pápež Tomáš III issued a statement of condemnation of the anti-Hosian and atheistic communist regime currently governing Trigunia, and criticized the persecution of ethnic Kozaks and Sullestians by the Rodshyan dominated Communist Party. The Pápež also called on the Trigunian National Church to end its schism from the Mother Church, and announced that the Papacy shall offer its unwavering material and spiritual support to the Sich organization, as the legitimate representative of persecuted Hosians and Kozaks in Trigunia.

Pápež Awards Golden Rose To Tsesar

Image
The Tsesar's Rose

His Holiness Pápež Filaret VI has awared a Golden Rose to Deltarian Tsesar Stefan X Sorin. The Pápež praised the young monarch as a 'light of Deltaria, diligent and truthful as well.' The Rose was sent to Cachtice Castle and accepted by the Tsesar in a suitably religious ceremony. The Pápež is belived to have overcome his initial suspicion of the Indralan born Tsesar and his conversion from Jienism to Hosianism. The Pápež also honoured the Czarina Mariska, she was named a Dame of the Order of St. Stefan V.

The reasons behind the Pápež's generosity are unclear. some have speculated that His Holiness wishes to strengthen the monarchy in order to end what the Pápež supposedly called 'the mish mash of useless federalism, impotent monarchy and dangerous Artanian democracy'The Pápež also announced the appointment of a new Cardinal - the Czarina's younger brother Jan (previously bishop of Naban)

Pápež Speaks Out

Image
His Holiness Arch-Patriarch Teofan III

The Pápež of the Terran Patriarchal Church, in a rare public announcement since the Terran Arch-Patriarchs have retreated to their spiritual affairs since the restoration of the Volkov Dynasty, commented on the ongoing issues affecting Terra's second largest Aurorian communion. Particularly, the Pápež released an unusually warm message towards the current regime in Pontesi, in particular welcoming the decision by the Aedinius government to convert the recalcitrant Eastern Hosians under the spiritual authority of the Holy Lands. Pápež Teofan announced that the Terran Church would send Deltarian missionaries to Pontesi in order to oversee the transfer, as well as introduce knowledge on the practices of the Deltarian Rite (OOC: Russian-style Byzantine), the only legitimate Rite in the views of the Church. Should this cooperation come to pass, we are likely to witness the end of the Apostolic Church in Pontesi, particularly due to the increasingly close relations between the Commonwealth and the Deltarian Czardom. The Pápež was also very pleased with the Dynastic Commonwealth's anti-homosexual policies and commended all Terran governments to introduce similar measures, although Teofan is rumored to be homosexual himself, and critics have noted his unusually close relationships with several young men whom he later on created Kardinals. Pápež Teofan III also invited the Crimson Crusade itself to join the Holy See in Dolinka and convert to Terran Patriarchalism, noting the similarity between their beliefs and their attitude towards "the wisdom of the nations", referring to the fact that both his Church and the Crusaders accept pre-Hosian beliefs and practices as valid. The Pápež also reacted to the ongoing monarchical dispute between Vanuku and Zardugal, where the attempt at a personal union between the two nations under a single Emperor of the Augustans has been fruitless. Pápež Teofan reminded Juhn III of Vanuku and Antono I Alexander of Zardugal that one cannot be a legitimate Emperor of the Augustans unless confirmed as such and crowned by the Arch-Patriarch of the Terran Patriarchal Church, following the precedent set by Theodosio IV, the first modern Augustan Emperor. Although the Pápež refused to take sides in the dispute, considering his close ties to the anti-Vanukean Deltarian regime, he may consider granting the Augustan crown to the Zardic pretender. His Holiness concluded his announcement by issuing a mild criticism of the Deltarian slave policy by condemning the enslavement of Hosians and recommended that the Deltarian Empire at least ban the ownership of Hosian slaves by non-Hosians, particularly Yeudis.

OOC: The usual practice has been to allow whoever controls Deltaria to control the Church and the Papez, considering the TPC's centralized nature, and I don't see why we should deviate from that now. If you want to do some TPC RP, I hereby officially transfer character control over Teofan III to kylejenkins27. Use him well. Don't forget he's closeted gay, homophobic, anti-Semitic, has a cozy relationship with the current Deltarian government, but would also not want to alienate TPC faithful in Vanuku or Zardugal by supporting Deltaria too publicly.

His Holiness Arch Patriarch Teofan III

The Papez of the Terran Patriarchal Church condemed Deltaria's slave trade once again for the second time since Deltaria embraced slavery 12 years ago in 3980. He blamed what he called "snowballing" global instability and war on a domino effect that began with the enslaving of countless people and the fleeing of hundreds of thousands more as refugees throughout Terra. The Papez also criticized what he called "extremist" in Gaduridos who harbor hate against refugees that their nation threatened military force to obtain.

The Papez praised the Konzervatívna Monarchistická Strana in Deltaria for their introduction of the Preserving the Faith Act, and said the D.D.P. Is betraying the very principles they claim to stand for in defending foreign traditions instead of Hosnian tradition. He added that the bill contains half-measures on combatting the influence of homosexuals, adding rather enthusiastically
Deltaria's leaders could learn a thing or two from true symbols of Leadership like Duke Julius Nerses of Pontesi
The Papez then made a call to the Auroran Patriarchal Church to come together in these times of growing turmoil and let us begin to work toward religious reconciliation.

The Papez also addressed Prince Juhn III of Vanuku's claim of Emperor of the Augustans as well, he stated
should the Prince behave like an Emperor then I would be more than willing to crown him as an Emperor, any noble aspiring to such heights at times like this should be using their influence and connections to fix the problems in Majatra and Terra as a whole, he must seek the approval of the Augustans first.

Amid Chaos throughout Majatra the Papez orders closure of the Holy Lands
Image
His Holiness Arch Patriarch Teofan III

In a stunning move Papez Teofan III has ordered the complete closure of the Holy Lands due to increased security concerns as war rages throughout Majatra. The Papez has reportedly purchased 385 male slaves in Deltaria to work and serve himself and his staff, all the male slaves were reportedly enslaved after being convicted of Homosexuality in Deltaria. The Papez who in years past has criticized Deltaria's ethnic slavery justified his purchase of these male slaves saying "these destitute souls will surely benefit from being in the presence of someone as righteous as myself. The slaves are reportedly being put to work building a makeshift wall to keep outsiders out of the Holy Lands, the Papez has also commissioned private security to guard all entrances and exits to the Holy Lands

Sources within the Palace of Papez Teofan III report grave illness for Teofan

Image

Reports have leaked from within the closed Holy lands that His Holiness Arch Patriarch Teofan III is very ill. Sources within the Holy lands who have chosen to remain anonymous have alluded to the fact the the Papez is suffering from an STD, if true it would be incredibly controversial given that he shouldn't be engaged in conduct to even contract an STD. As this news leaked many have taken the approach that if he does have an STD it could possibly from one of the many male slaves he purchased years ago, slaves who were convicted of homosexuality. The Papez at the time of purchasing these slaves stated it was for their moral good to bring them to the holy lands but if these reports are true it was not for any moral purpose.

Whether or not the allegations of an STD are true, the office of the Papez has announced that he is ill but they have declined to comment on the nature of the illness. In any case the Holy Sobor has been summoned to the Holy lands leaving many thinking that this could be the end for Teofan III

"Peter I" Canonized
Radoslav Volić proclaimed a Saint

Image
Newly commissioned icon of "Saint Radoslav the Fool"

November 4054 - In an unexpected and unannounced move, Pápež Neofit I of the Terran Patriarchal Church officially canonized Radoslav Volić (2071-2104), a Deltarian Tokundian who became famous for proclaiming himself Arch-Patriarch under the name "Peter I", centuries after the title had fallen into disuse with the fall of the Holy Apostolic Hosian Church of Terra in 1819. This move may come as a shock to many Terran Patriarchal Hosians, as Radoslav is a controversial and contested figure and suspected of mental illness. In spite of this he was also very influential for the history of the Church; his self-proclaimed Pápežate and his subsequent popularity among the impoverished and religious population of Darali made it clear to the totalitarian Absolvers regime ruling Deltaria at the time that their "New Traditions" campaign was unsuccessful. The "New Traditions" was the official name of a campaign introduced by the governing Totalitarian-National Socialist-Communist coalition aiming to abolish feudal traditions and forcefully modernize Deltaria as a homogeneous and secular nation, governed by the "Absolvers" and their cult of personality. However, not long after Radoslav's execution by his ruling Markiz, the New Traditions campaign was tacitly abandoned and the Oligarchy legalized and officially adopted Hosianism as the state religion. Most significantly, the popularity of Radoslav's self-proclaimed Pápežate convinced the Oligarchy to officially introduce the office of Arch-Patriarch, thus creating the Terran Patriarchal Church.

In spite of his importance, Radoslav was never considered a legitimate Pápež, nor was he canonized, until now. This is because of his controversial and erratic behavior, leading many to assume that he had suffered from mental illness. Radoslav used to speak in riddles, walk naked, urinate and defecate in public, eat meat on fast days, shoplift and give to the poor, and spend countless nights in brothels, behaviors generally considered inappropriate for a Saint. However, his canonization two thousand years after his death serves a clearly political purpose. The fact that Radoslav Volić was a Tokundian, persecuted both on account of his ethnicity and his religious convictions, sends a clear message in connection to the unfolding Tokundian crisis in Cobura, where the demands for independence of the indigenous Tokundian population in the South Majatran kingdom stems from the marginalization of this minority at the hands of the Archean monarchy. And the the Church got around the new saint's controversial character by introducing him into the category of Holy Fools, a type of saint in the Terran Patrairchal Church who behaves unconventionally, feigns insanity or silliness, and who deliberately provokes outrage. Being believed to be clairvoyant or a prophet is a common characteristic of Holy Fools, which was indeed one of the things Radoslav was known for. His canonization at this time will likely lead to a rise in Tokundian nationalism and will certainly make this controversial figure even more popular among Coburan Tokundians as not only an unconventional religious figure, but also as a symbol of Tokundian identity.
