PRESIDENT WASHINGTON OF THE CENTRE DEMOCRATS DEFEATED BY KEVIN LEE OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY!
-Conservative Times Editorial Published In the Democratic Republic of Aloria September 2771

In a shock electoral victory, the incumbent President Washington was defeated by the Conservative party candidate Kevin Hill who received nearly 60% of the vote in the second round and pushing Mr. Washington into third place in the first round.

In other news, the Conservative party won 195 seats making them the largest party in parliament with a massive plurality of 102 which is over twice as many as the next largest party.

Speaking in a Conservative party rally after the results had been announced President Lee had this to say; “These results represent a turning point in Alorian politics. The silent majority of Alorian’s will no longer be silent; their voices will be heard in parliament and through me. We are extremely thankful to all those who put their trust in us and voted for change, and all our party workers and candidates.”

The Conservatives retained control of Ultran, Krentori and Kurmal significantly increasing their majorities in all three states.

The party will now draft a number of international treaties dealing mainly with economics, trade and industry.

In his closing remarks, Mr Lee said, "Aloria is the home of capitalism. Our victory today has shown that. The people of Aloria want fewer restrictions on global trade and they want Aloria to turn a new corner in world enterprise. We will be diligent in our efforts to secure that future."

This press release following has been sent by the conservative government to all nations of the world in anticipation of the World Economic Conference next year in Sildar.

--------

July 2773

The Conservative party of the Democratic Republic of Aloria would formally like to invite all governments of the world to Libertia for a convention on world economics. For many years, especially whilst under conservative rule, Aloria has been a positive home to many multinational institutions and businesses and this conference will hopefully be a constructive step towards helping foster strong international trade relationships.

Also on the agenda for the conference will be; economic stability, reducing budget deficits and surpluses, promoting foreign investment and creating policies that produce economic prosperity.

The conference will be kindly hosted at the Walburg Hotel at Sildar, Aloria. (Also the hotel that has hosted the Walburg Conference). The event will be hosted by the conservative Minister of Finance, Jack Sparrow and will be attended by the conservative President Kevin Lee and prominent members of the centre democrats.

The conference will be held on July 2774 and all governments, regardless of political orientation are welcome to attend. Security will be tight but Aloria is a peaceful nation and we do not expect any threats to materialise.

News Report

The Democratic Republic of Aloria is in an uproar, as a member of the Parliament was implicated in a bribery scheme. The well-known politician Casper Brown was seen accepting illegal funds from Justin Rivers, head of FSJ Inc., in return for favourable conditions for FSJ Inc., helping them rise to the top of the Logistics sector.

-----
Responding to massive public outrage President Kevin Lee has released a statement regarding the FSJ Inc. affair, condemning both Justin Rivers and Casper brown for their actions. He has also suspended Casper Brown from parliament pending a full inquiry into the allegations.

"Corruption is gravelly serious and we will not tolerate it in our parliament. When found we will stamp it out" Mr Lee was quoted as saying. If found guilty FSJ Inc. could face a considerable fine and guilty persons may face prison.

President Harry Winchester has made a statement in Libertia Internation Airport ahead of his historic visit to Rutania.

In that statement he welcomed the invitation made by Charles Augustus von Bruckenthal, Foreign Minister of Rutania and hailed a new era of positive co-operation between the two nations as a model for future trade and economic forums.

Several other high-ranking ministers including the Prime Minister James Grewer arrived at the airport just before President Winchester's press conference. Preparations been extensive and have taken weeks to complete and the high ranking nature of the delegation has required tight security co-operation between the Aloria and Rutania.

Before the boarding the plane bound for Hayek International Airport Foreign Affairs Minister Ava Plant was quoted as saying "We are proud to be undertaking this visit to Rutania. We have a historic closeness and a special relationship which we hope to deepen and strengthen with this trip. We already have a long term sales agreement to sell natural gas to Rutania and we hope to continue that co-operation in the future".

Alorian delegation arrives in Rutania

June 28th, 10.00 am

The aircraft of the Alorian Airlines landed in the Hayek International Airport. After the delegation left the plane, they were welcomed by Charles Agustus von Bruckenthal:
"President, Prime Minister, Ministers,
I welcome you in Rutania. It is great honour for the whole nation that you visit our country and I hope that you will enjoy these meetings. Aloria and Rutania are neighbours with many common features and interest. That is why our cooperation is essential and may serve the interests of our two nations. My party always viewed Aloria as an exceptional ally and we always strived for this meeting to happen. I am sure that during these day we will discuss many issues and have fruitful achievements.
I invite you to the Bruckenthal Palace, where we shall begin our discussions."

After the welcome-speech of Mr. von Bruckenthal, the officials were brought to the Bruckenthal Palace by limousines.

Official discussions with Foreign Minister von Bruckenthal

11.00 am

"This formal visit is a historic event in our bilateral relationship. It will help us to understand better of our political, economic and social realities and to accomplish goals serving our common interests. The first issue I would like to address is mainly geopolitical. I would like to clarify the matrix of relations we are acting in and identify potential common allies and goals on the international arena.

The Commonwealth of Rutania despite its smaller size, is part of an international alliance which makes us an important actor. We are parts of the Axis, a political-military alliance which at the moment is the only significant power on Terra. We are willing to support Aloria's greater international integration, if needed.
I know that Aloria was an important member of the Walburg Group and the United Nations of Terra, two organizations which were great ideas, but unfortunately did fail. The UNT did not manage to pass its first difficult situation, the resolution of the Hobrazian crisis. Then, Aloria was strongly supporting our point of view and also voted for our candidate to the office of Secretary-General. These deeds are highly appreciated among Rutanian politicians.

Roughly fifty years ago, your country went through a deep economic crisis which had also effects in Rutania. That situation was also solved by a financial cooperation between our governments.

I am listing all these examples in order to underline how our cooperation shaped the history of our nations and of the whole Terra. So, my question would refer to, how you envisage the role of Aloria on the international scene, in Artania. Who are your main allies and please, tell us any kind of idea you have in these respects!
