Lady DeKarav Pregnant

Consort to the head of the Karav Dynasty, Milena I, is pregnant for Kristov VIII.
Kristov VIII is a young Karav who has never been on any throne, but who claims several titles. His father is Kristov VII, a former Prince of Lodamun. His father is still alive, but retired all his ceremonial duties, handing them (along with Chairship of the KFS) to Kristov VIII. Kristov VIII wants "to enter politics" soon, but hasn't decided which party he wants to join. For a long time, the Karavs have been affiliated with Socialists, but Lodamun's Nationalists had been the most supportive of them until the abolition of the office of Chairman/Prince. Kristov VIII can still join the party and run for Finance Minister or President. The sad thing is that Nationalists have lost popularity over time, and the Communists may not be willing to accept him in their party. He could always join the Monarchist party. According to our sources from within the manor, he hasn't weighed the Liberal Party as one of his options.

Embargo on Solentia Successful
January 30, 3574

As of March 1, 3574, 8 nations will act in accordance with a recent treaty which specifies a conditional embargo on Solentia. The treaty specifies that the embargo is only in effect when certain government positions are held my members of the warmongering Liberal Party. Recent election results show that the embargo was effective.

In fear and under pressure that the Liberals may get Solentia into trouble again, many Liberal Party supporters defected. The party's Presidential candidate got the least votes in the first round of Presidential elections, being knocked out. The results of the Presidential election were a close call between the Radicals and the Merchants' Guild. There were almost 57,000,000 voters, and the difference between the 2 candidates was less than 220,000. The parties entered a coalition which left the Liberals in Opposition.

Liberals lost more than half their seats, while the Merchants' Guild remains the largest party. The governing coalition has only 9 seats (1.2%) less than the 500 required for a supermajority. The Merchants' Guild accused the Liberals of spreading lies and propaganda, and the Radicals admitted that their choice of entering a coalition with the Merchants' Guild, instead of the Liberals, was as a result of the embargo.

"Out of nowhere, Liberals started talking about using chemical weapons to murder babies," a Solentian source said, "it had nothing to do with the debate. The debate, as far as everyone else knew, was about a cabinet proposal."

For now, trade may resume between Solentia and each country which signed the treaty.
The embargo will not be in effect again until Liberals return to the Presidency or the cabinet.

RUT "Jumps"
March 3589

KFS has reported that the value of RUT (the Ruta currency, used by Rutania) has jumped from 0.88 KRV to 0.91 KRV. Lodamun's Dollar (the LOD) is the only currency that has been stronger than the Ruta, and stands at 0.91 KRV, only 0.01 KRV more than the Ruta.

The KFS believes that this is due to increasing global debt, where Rutania has one of the largest amounts of currency in their reserves. This turns Rutania into a potential lender. Added to the fact that they already had a strong currency, this means the possibility of the Ruta surpassing the LOD in KRV value in the future.

Rutania is still cautioned to watch their recession. At over 20%, their economy is unstable. While large reserves are good for the sake of currency value and status as a lender nation, a deep-enough recession can cause all of that to collapse and their value in KRV will go down.

Jakanian Currency Loses Value
June 3700

As a result of Jakania's hyperinflation, Jakania's currency has lost value.
In the 3670s, 1 JAK was equal to 0.08 KRV. 1 JAK is nor equal to 0.05 KRV.

Enlai Xinpusen, the Trade & Industry Minister of Lodamun, says that Jakania's economic policies could hurt its trade relations with multiple countries. He urges the KFS to lower the JAK's KRV rate further to 0.01 KRV.

KFS Warns of Complications
January 3727

Head of Karav Financial Services, Kristov DeKarav XV, is warning that certain restrictions placed on Lodamese money and assets will not benefit anyone. They also say that if the complications get too serious, they may force the KFS to consider relocation to Indrala or Valruzia. Interestingly, Valruzia and Deltaria had reacted differently when Edwin Fertig had persecuted Hosians. Since the liberalisation of Lodamun, promoted by bourgeois Hosian elements, the international community is reacting differently to Lodamun's treatment of Hosians.

"Lodamun's state looked strong. The world didn't try to bother them when everyone knew that Hosians were being persecuted," Kristov DeKarav XV said, "but now they see a sign of weakness in the Lodamese state, and they are taking advantage of it." As bad as the GNRG administrations were under members of the Fertig family, the world was afraid to do anything about it. Now, less bold leaders have taken charge of Lodamun and the world is taking advantage of their inexperience to try to force changes in Lodamun. "If the state seemed stronger and unwilling to change, sanctions and restrictions simply wouldn't work," former Foreign Minister Nicholas Yenven said, "but the new administration has shown the intention to bow to the demands of the international community. The international community doesn't tell Lodamun what to do; Lodamun should tell the international community what to do, but these liberals are messing everything up."

Karavs have also joined Gordon Fertig in blaming "bourgeois Hosian elements" for the assassination of the Chairman of the USSVR, saying that "they want to destabilise Socialist states everywhere. The least anti-Hosian party in Lodamun is the most anti-Socialist one."

Monarchist Agenda Advancing in Lodamun
November 3729

Lodamun had signed 2 treaties which showed their opposition to absolute monarchy. They both referred to the widely-despised Adamonsite regime in Gaduridos, which was dismantled by a Karav-funded invasion with support from both the ATR and the IML. Even the Karavs are not seen as royalty in Lodamun. Though Karavs are tied with Lodamun's Nationalists, Lodamese Nationalists simply don't see the Karavs as suitable for being a royal family in Lodamun because they aren't Lodamese. The Karavs have accepted this and continue to support the Great Democratic Republic.

The Conservative Monarchist Alliance is pressuring the Presidium to withdraw from the treaties. If the Presidium decides in the CMA's favour, Lodamun would have less legal precedence for their opposition to absolute monarchy.

April 3877 Release

As negotiations continue in Indrala, Kevin Landau has announced that he may select the locations of KFS' major offices in order of which governments first signed the treaty. With that said, Vanuku is most likely to become the new location of the KFS' headquarters, while Indrala and Saridan may host regional headquarters for their continents; Indrala may host the regional headquarters for Dovani, while Saridan may host the regional headquarters for Seleya. Beluzia is expected to host the headquarters for Southern Artania.

However, he raised the issue that none of the governments that bidded for hosting the KFS have met the fiscal policy requirements initially stated. The only countries which have met the requirements are:
- Beiteynu
- Badara
- Egelion
- Davostan
- Alduria
- Hutori
- Istalia

Of these countries, the only one who seems to be interested in making a bid soon is Hutori. However, Kevin Landau said that Hutori does not meet the KFS' political requirements, which he still has not elaborated on. Of the countries that have made bids, he says that the ones who meet the requirements are Indrala and Vanuku, while Beluzia comes close enough to be eligible. While Beluzia may not host the KFS' headquarters, due to the late signing of the treaty, it will still be regarded as the "home of KFS" and host important KFS offices and sub-institutions.

As Vanuku is passing a new budget soon, it may come closer to meeting the KFS' fiscal policy requirements, but KFS says that Vanuku can definitely be the location of KFS' headquarters if it promises to raise Finance Ministry spending to at least 50,000,000,000 VAN. Another issue that KFS has with Vanuku is its weak currency. Kevin Landau says that Vanuku should consider issuing a new reserve currency for international trade purposes. Kevin Landau says that there can be a "Vanuku Reserve Dollar" (VRD) which should be pegged at 10 VAN.

After the KFS establishes its new headquarters, wherever that may be, Kevin Landau intends to begin talks with particular countries in Artania and Majatra to discuss the creation of continental currencies. During these talks, he hopes to fix the bitter relations that KFS has with Dorvik and Zardugal after gaffes by the Karavs while they were in Beluzia; this includes support for the Artanian Union, and a cautious approach to diplomacy with Zardugal during the time that Zardugal and Vanuku remain cooperative with each other.
