Royal Institute of Heraldry at Telapolis

Postby Zanz » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:13 pm

Introduction:

The Royal Institute of Heraldry at Telapolis on the Royal Crownlands of New Majatra in Telamon was established in October 3314 as an international forum at which the heraldry and various coats of arms of the royal and noble houses of Terra could be displayed and researched. Its creation was supported by a rich donation from His Royal Majesty Michael Victor II of the House of Kansar, High King of the Tela, King of New Majatra and King-in-Exile of the Solentians, Duke of Telapolis, Lord of the Five Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, as an investment in the international prestige of Telamon and its royal and noble families.

It is open to submissions of heraldry from all royal and noble families across Terra.

(N.B: The Houses of Torvellian and Leylabi are due to be united soon, the information below assumes this union is successful)

House name: Karav Dynasty
Nations in which the house is relevant: Beluzia
Prevalent titles of the house: Count, Viscount

Blazon: Gule, two crossed scimitars Or between two lions proper rampant, the dexter facing to sinister, the sinister facing to dexter, and a crown Or, and a brown hawk proper in chief, facing sinister, addorsed and elevated.

Image

The 2 crossed scimitars represent the cultural military orientation of the Karav clan. The lions represent pride, strength, and roars. The hawk, looking East, is to honour the province of Iker Ado, where the hereditary throne of the Karav Dynasty exists, autonomous of the elected Beluzian throne.

Miscellaneous: The Karav Dynasty gained control of Iker Ado in May 3267. They lost it for 2 years (3274-3276) but regained and kept it since that. Iker Ado has been a de facto hereditary non-sovereign monarchy since Novermber 3276, the time from which the Karavs have had uninterrupted control of the province. This brought the Karav Dynasty recognition from the International Monarchist League.

Beluzia has 5 non-sovereign thrones, which are hereditary. Any holder, of 1 of the 5 thrones, is eligible to sit on the sovereign throne as the symbolic head of state of Beluzia. The sovereign throne is elective.
Check out my latest Particracy project, and feel free to discuss it in the forums.

House name: House of Arinidi

Nations in which the house is relevant: Telamon; various other nations to who's leaders our members are wed

Prevalent titles of the house: Queen-Consort of Lirona; Prince of Lirona; Prince of The Empire de Canrille; Princess Royal of Kinovah; Crown Princess of Antepec; Princess of The Yeudish Kingdom of Beiteynu; Duchess of HaDisporim

Blazon: Parted per cross tenne and azure, cross vert, chief dexter dagger toward sinister argent, armed or, eagle displayed argent, armed gules langued murrey, chief sinister ermine spot sable, base sinister anchor argent, base dexter crescent horizontal murrey, chief crown or.

Emblazon: See Attachment

Plain English description and/or rational of the coat of arms: The Black and Red helm represents the martyrdom embedded in our claim to Christian orders and our constancy. The quartered field of blue and orange represents our ambition and our loyalty to the King. The green cross upon the field represents our loyalty to the love of God. The Dagger represents our claim to justice and strive to see justice done. The ermine spot represents our dignity and noble heritage, reaching back centuries to the Ancient Arinidis, Blacks, Sinars, and Simons. The crescent represents our titles bestowed upon us by the King and our hope for further glory. The anchor stands for our religious steadfastness. The eagle that sits at the crosses center represents our commitment to protecting our nobility as well as our traditional values. The princely crown that sits above the eagle represents our vast claims to princely titles and, since its sits upon both orange and blue fields, it represents our royal ambitions but our steadfast loyalty to the King. The fact that all the charges touch the green cross in some way is to represent that no matter what we believe, say, or do, our House remains faithful to the Artanian Patriarchal Church and, ultimately, Eliyahu.
