NSTOC Secures Investments from 3 Countries

As of May 4007, Lourenne became the third country to invest in the NSTOC. As of January 4009, the company has released its first set of public records. The company currently has 250,000 shares, and is valued at almost 1.5 billion KRV.

Baltusia is the largest investor in the NSTOC, and has therefore been able to control over 172,000 of the company's 250,000 shares. Lodamun, the first investor, is now only a minor shareholder. Vice President Joshua Fertig, who pressed the Lodamese government to found the company, hopes to get Likatonia and Valruzia to invest in the company as well. The company hopes to expand its operations to allow industrial hubs to be more viable in the inland areas of North Seleya. By cutting down the cost of cargo transportation, North Seleyan industries can either spend their money elsewhere or offer more competitive prices.

All countries are welcome to invest in the NSTOC. Currently, Lourenne is the only country outside of North Seleya that invests in the company; they control 7 of the 250,000 shares.

NSTOC Secures Investments from 6 Countries

Image

Over the past 5 years, 3 additional countries have begun investing in the NSTOC. Investments have now reached almost 2 billion KRV. No country currently has a majority share. Valruzia is the biggest investor in the company, and Lourenne remains the only country outside of North Seleya that invests.

Message from FM Edwards, Imperial Republic of Kalistan

The Treaty for the NSTOC is being considered currently in the National Assembly. The Premier has advocated an initial outlay of 16 Billion KRB (510,400,000 LOD) in capitalization.

We need to hear from the Majority Party still on the matter, before the PM moves the bill to a vote, but the Socialist Party will do what it can to ensure passage of the Bill. The PM agrees with me that it is time we join the effort at integration.

We will keep the Board of the NSTOC apprised of the bill's progress. Any questions may be directed to me or the Premier directly, rather than as a comment on the Bill itself (as foreigners do not have the prerogative to comment directly on bills which are before the Assembly.) or on our Nation's Page. We hope for a positive outcome on this bill.

Most Serenely,
Oda Mae Edwards,

Dear Board of Directors,

Kalistan has ratified the Treaty for the NSTOC and has agreed to provide for an investment of 20 Bn KRB into the Company. This is significantly more than the required 5% of the Industry and the Transport budgets, but we wish to show our commitment to the Company. The Government of Kalistan has also agreed, internally, to invest more each year, with the aim of increasing our share in the Operations Company, at a rate of 30 Bn. KRB next year, and then 40 Bn KRB the following year, putting our total investment in the company at 90 billion KRB.

We will also seek to negotiate a rail link up between Yoshimi in Suldanor and Balthusia, as well as a bridge between the terminal in Addisjah in Vrassa District and Lodamun.

Finally, upon completion of the rail links, Kalistan would offer to allow duty free transport of all goods and services across Kalistan from all member nations. If the terminal destination is markets in Kalistan, the rail hubs at Addisjah and Yoshimi will serve as Marts for foreign goods, where buying and selling will occur between foreign agents and Kalistani distributors. Otherwise, the duty free lines will exist between ports of entry at Addisjah and Yoshimi and the international shipping ports at Port Eshar in Odufaray District and the Port Elga at Sulari, Suldanor District.

Kalistan will impose no import or export tariffs on any goods or services, but certain items will be deemed contraband in Kalistan, to include any product which will compete with Kalistani National Industries (to include Steel and iron, petroleum products, drugs, pharmaceuticals, treacle, and wine) as well as any items which are banned by our national law (primarily radioactive, biological and chemical weapons agents and landmines and human cargo).

All incoming cargo will be subject to thorough inspection by Kalistani Agents, but will otherwise be unhindered or molested. If a country attempts to import any of the above items into Kalistan, their cargo will be returned to their country of origin at the expense of the shipper, or will be impounded and liquidated if there is no agent to take receipt of the returned material.

We look forward to increased cooperation with our Seleyan Neighbors, and see this treaty as the first steps toward a deeper economic and political integration.
