The Goodriver Plant located around 25 km from Fort William is the flagship plant of Renou, employing 12,000 workers and producing approximately 660,000 automobiles annually.

History

In April 3976, brothers Matthieu and Philippe Renou founded the Société d'Automobiles de Labonne (Labonne Automobile Company) in Labonne, Rildanor, which initially exclusively produced automobiles. In 4065, the Société d'Automobiles de Labonne increased their share of Cano from 37.6% to 79.8% and reorganized as Groupe RSA. Groupe RSA also bought a majority stake of 54.3% in Astier, which along with Cano, became subsidiaries of Groupe RSA.

Renou Holdings was formed after the merger of Renou Motor Cars PLC and Renou Aerospace PLC in January 4136. Renou Motor Cars was formed in January 4136 following the relocation and restructuring plan submitted to the Board of Directors by CEO Marc Villette, which was approved due to Rildanor's 50% corporate tax and increasingly restrictive regulations. Renou Motor Cars PLC is a founding member of the Society of Automobile Manufacturers and Traders (SAMT), a Luthori trade association of automobile manufacturers, which itself was a founding member of the International Organization of Automobile Manufacturers.

Press Release: Profits Slightly Down But Hopes Drastically Up
January 4136

End-of-year annual revenues for Renou Holdings PLC fell as expected due to corporate restructuring and the related risks of relocating headquarters and the bulk of the company's operations. Profits for the year 4135 fell to £19,920,988.37 LPD (Luthorian Pound), down 15% from 4134 profits. While the figure is nothing to celebrate over, the long-term prospects of Renou look very good. The restructuring, though damaging in the short-run, promises to deliver high rates of return as Renou operates in a much more business-friendly climate and is able to pay a much lower corporate tax rate in Luthori (15%) than in Rildanor (50%). Furthermore, as our subsidiaries begin taking on more contracting work and expand operations throughout Luthori, we expect profits to again rise. That is the spirit of Renou.

Press Release: Renou Motor Cars PLC Shutters Plant in Shippington, Geharon
January 4152

Due to the passage of the New Economy Act, which raised the corporate tax rate, regulated stock exchanges, nationalized certain industries, the electric grid, power stations, and all housing, Renou Motor Cars PLC has shuttered its plant in Shippington, Geharon, and all 4,800 jobs will be terminated effective immediately. The company can not afford to pay these workers due to these burdensome regulations, which contrary to the propaganda the new extremist government, led by the Luthorian Workers Party, the National Conservatives, and the Hosian Party, is telling the public, has hurt business and the economy, rather than help it. Although Renou Motor Cars PLC was planning on expanding factory jobs, open to union membership, with a new factory in Randamar, Tinako, that plan has been cancelled. As Renou Motor Cars PLC seeks to remain profitable and cut costs, we warn all our employees and factory workers to begin applying for positions elsewhere unless it is necessary that any further plants be closed as a result of the disastrous New Economy Act.
