December 4291

At a packed meeting in Haldor in Dorvik today, Dorvish Communist Party General Secretary Friedrich Pfeiffer announced the foundation of the International Dalibor Solidarty Campaign, an organisation "with supporters in every country in Terra", dedicated to advancing the cause of the Proletarian Liberation Front in Dalibor, in its conflict with "the right-wing, Hyperion Corporation-controlled pseudo-democratic dictatorship".

As soon as the opportunity arose, journalists started asking him whether he would condemn the car bomb attack outside Dalibor's Parliament, believed to have killed up to 140 people. Pfeiffer gave a bungling answer, first claiming "I didn't hear about that", then saying "Well, Hyperion kills twice that number of people every day", then saying "I would have to hear all of the sides of the story before commenting on that, including the Proletarian Liberation Front's - we don't even know if they did it" and then finally coming out with "These are war casualties, and that's really sad - it's awful - but the cause of the war is Hyperion, so they are the ones who are responsible for this; the Proletarian Liberation Front are the ones who want to bring peace and self-rule for the people".

Pfeiffer's fellow Dorvish party comrade, Karolina Wieck, then gave a much more assured speaking performance, elaborating in great detail and great length on the crimes and iniquities of the Hyperion Corporation and how it has "captured the Dalibor state and Dalibor's democracy, and subverted it to serve its own interests". She was also full of praise for the People's Republic of Badara, calling Badara "the most enlightened and most advanced civilisation on the face of the planet" and urging over governments "to follow Badara's noble lead in supporting the cause of the Proletarian Liberation Front".

Wieck also launched the International Dalibor Solidarity Campaign's new mobile phone app, called NotHyperion. The app helps users to avoid purchasing Hyperion's products whilst shopping, and also to avoid purchasing from Hyperion's key corporate suppliers, whilst also keeping users up to date with the campaign's newsfeed. NotHyperion has been downloaded millions of times in the first 24 hours alone.
