Alorian Air Support comes through; Pfathzburg surrounded

Image
A Reichsbürgerwehr unit engages the enemy South of Pfathzburg

Gemeinde Oberhenner, Northern Mitrania - With the help of Alorian air support, the Reichsbürgerwehr has finally completed its encirclement of the city of Pfathzburg. This morning, RBW militia units advanced under the cover of Alorian air support to take control of all mountain passes leading down into the Hulstrian foothills, blocking the last access the regime had from the South into Pfathzburg and securing Septembrist territory in Mitrania. It is expected that the capture of Pfathzburg will coincide more or less with the start of the assault on Hulstrian positions in the North by the coalition forces, allowing the RBW to push north into Kien and Phönix, the strategic objectives of Operation Phoenix Rising.

Among the strategic locations captured by the RBW are several reservoirs used for generating the hydroelectric power on which Pfathzburg and much of the Hulstrian Crownland's electricity supply depends for its power. Once the locations were captured, the RBW cut power to the northern part of the grid, leaving power lines into Mitrania operational. It is expected that this will temporarily deprive the Hulstrian defences of power until another supply is found, aiding in the capture of locations in the Crownland.

The steady progress made in the war effort has the Septembrists looking further ahead. Following the capture of Kien and Phönix, the Reichsbürgerwehr High Command's next objective will likely be to secure a perimeter across Hulstria, Budenlar and Northern Mitrania to block off the retreat of the Hulstrian defence forces in the North, securing the entire Crownland of Hulstria and much of Budenlar in the process.

Does he want us to ridicule him? Nimitz does not know where Numamura is

Image

An editorial comment - We did not think the Reichskanzler would be so easily fooled by his own name changes! We know, of course, that Leopold Nimitz has the capacity possessed by all narcissistic lunatics in power to get taken in by their own speeches. But that he, the architect of the greatest plastering over of history in, well, history, would forget the basis of his own revisions to the extent that he believes the location of the Septembrist government is secret!

Does he want us to ridicule him? Not that we think Nimitz's regime is a laughing matter. The murderous lunatic has been entirely unhinged, as Vize-Staatsminister (yes, get over it, Nimmy) Theophilus von Geraniengau so astutely observed. But when he reacted to Geraniengau's heroic goodbye to the party, willingly humiliating himself in front of a crowd of party members by reading it out before them (do I detect a streak of masochism there or is it simply pathological self-pity?), he was apparently so angry that he assumed the Septembrist Government is hiding somewhere. Funnily enough, anyone who reads this publication (and we are sure Nimitz does or he would not know Geraniengau's office in Their Imperial Majesties' Government - hello dear reader!) knows the said Government isn't laying low somewhere, but is reigning over increasing amounts of liberated territory from Hennersdam-Numamura. Either he forgot that in his rage or he actually can no longer come to terms with the true topography of Hulstria and Gao-Soto. Poor Nimitz, he must be losing his wits. That explains why his troops have been so hard-pressed to deal with the Reichsbürgerwehr's advance. If you don't know where it is you're going, of course you're not going to retake it.

Nimitz's regime is no laughing matter. His reaction to Geraniengau's having enough is extremely violent and brutal and this editor weeps at the suffering it will cause among loyal supporters of the 15th of September Movement and innocent bystanders alike. But Nimitz can rest assured - if anything he has given a proper incentive to the Septembrists. Not to give up the hero who defied him in multiple ways but to remove him sooner rather than later.

Are you reading this, Nimitz? The RBW is coming for you. And you can add every count of murder you and your cronies commit in your rage to your sheet of charges. Enough to warrant the firing squad, we believe.

Combined Septembrist-Coalition assault liberates Pfathzburg; marches on Kiennese Plain

Image
A Reichsbürgerwehr Division marches into Pfathzburg

Pfathzburg, Hulstria - With the support of coalition paratroopers more than tripling the numbers of the Septembrist forces, the Reichsbürgerwehr has forced its way into the city of Pfathzburg, taking the defensible fortress city and securing control of a highly strategic location with control over much of Crownland Hulstria's power supply. At 2pm Hulstrian time, the Union Flag was hoisted over Pfathzburg's Town Hall as the commander of the town garrison surrendered to the superior power of the combined Septembrist-coalition forces.

Commandant Viktor Gubler of the Reichsbürgerwehr hailed the successful assault: "Thanks to the brave preparatory work done in the surrounding areas by Reichsbürgerwehr men and women and the aid of our international allies, we were able to execute a highly efficient operation to liberate Pfathzburg with minimal damage to the city itself. It's no secret that our men and women are less well-trained than their professional counterparts in both the Reichsheer and the coalition forces, but we make up for it in bravery and we're learning more every day. Now we shall push onwards to securing the final objectives of Operation Phoenix Rising."

After liaising with the commanders of the coalition forces, it was decided to immediately punch forward into Crownland Hulstria using military vehicles captured from the Reichsheer in and around Pfathzburg, towards the Kiennese Plain. According to the RBW High Command, progress towards the Kien-Phönix conglomeration has been rapid with the Hulstrian defence forces preoccupied on the Northern border, allowing the combined RBW-Coalition forces to push through the less well-defended Hulstrian countryside with the aid of Allied air support, particularly the Alorian divisions expressly devoted to asserting air superiority above Septembrist operations. Optimistic estimates expect the liberation of Kien and Phönix within at least a month's time.

Pre-winter offensive liberates Ancient Capital

Image
Reichsbürgerwehr Soldiers found the Reichstag complex fortified and used as an improvised military base, delaying the transfer of the seat of government by a good while

Kien, Hulstria - After months on the march towards the plains surrounding the ancient Hulstrian capital and several weeks of intense fighting, the Reichsbürgerwehr, with the assistance of Alorian, Hutorian and Kazulian coalition forces dropped in Septembrist territory, has succeeded in its operational objective for this stage of the campaign: the liberation of Kien. Despite fierce fighting occurring in the major battlegrounds on the Northern border, where the bulk of the Reichsheer is engaging the overwhelming might of the coalition forces, the RBW and its allies encountered their first serious resistance moving into the heartland of Crownland Hulstria, having to overcome various armed barricades on main roads in an attempt to delay the Septembrist advance to what was clearly an important symbolic objective, the current lack of status ascribed to Kien notwithstanding.

Before they could hoist the Union Flag over the highly symbolic old Imperial Diet complex at Kien and Fliederbrunn Palace, the ancestral seat of the Rothingren-Traugotts, Septembrist forces had to engage in serious urban warfare against the defenders left behind by the regime, who had barricaded themselves in defensible and ironically symbolic buildings. RBW militiamen found the Imperial Diet complex unceremoniously converted to an improvised military fort, whose gates they found hard to breach without damaging the building they revered. "At one point I was pretty sure they must've been using the Imperial Diet Plenary Chamber as a munition depot and the Staatsministerium as a guntower! Welcher Quatsch!" one horrified native of Hulstria enlisted in the RBW declared. Moving carefully, the RBW finally succeeded in smoking out the defenders, but not without some unavoidable damage to windows and other such attributes of the already quite battered building. Interior Minister, Theophilus von Geraniengau, declared: "We are horrified by the state in which our men found the Diet buildings. I'm afraid we'll have to put off moving the seat of government until the area is secure enough for renovations." Fliederbrunn was found more intact, having been used as a mansion by a high-ranking member of the regime who has since been taken into custody.

Fierce fighting also occurred at Schloss Phönixstein, the erstwhile summer residence of the Rothingrens which had, unlike Fliederbrunn, seen its defensive position exploited for military purposes. The coalition forces saw no other option than to use its superior firepower to cow the defenders into submission, at great cost to the magnificent independence-era castle. Kaiser Otto was not available for comment, but it is thought he was greatly grieved to learn about the damage done to Phönixstein and will likely spare no expense of the Rothingrens' private fortune to return it to its former state.

Upon securing Kien and Phönix, the Reichsbürgerwehr left a garrison, then set out to strike west all the way to the Budenlarer coast, where coalition forces are carving out a foothold, to ease pressure on them and form a perimeter to cut off the withdrawal of the Hulstrian forces from the northern border as much as possible.

RBW announces Operation One Ring to cut off the Heinrich line

Image
Commandant Viktor Gubler of the Reichsbürgerwehr while meeting with the Government in liberated territory

Numamura, Mitrania - Following the successful establishment of a single fortified East-West line consisting of RBW and coalition forces blocking off the regime forces' retreat to the Heinrich line, Viktor Gubler and the commanders of the coalition forces are planning their next move in the struggle to liberate Hulstria and Gao-Soto from the regime. As Septembrist forces work to fortify the position in Crownland Hulstria and Budenlar, where local Gemeinden are feeling increasingly free to join the growing United Imperial Crownlands, part of the Reichsbürgerwehr and its paratrooper assistance forces will strike down into Mitrania to disrupt supply lines from Ostland to the Heinrich line, help further the liberation of Gao-Soto and pave the way for the coalition's combined assault of the central defenses.

Setting up a new Western operational headquarters at the liberated Haus zu Geraniengau in Northeastern Budenlar, the RBW are helped along by mass defections of entire divisions of the regime's armed forces, mostly conscripts, bolstering their ranks alongside men and women from the newly liberated areas. After vetting the new recruits, the RBW left them to fortify the East-West line alongside veteran and dependable RBW units and special forces from the Coalition, while the other half of the Septembrist-Coalition forces went on the march to close the gap through which the Reichsheer forces have been slipping in Mitrania. "There's a weak spot between the Eastern front troops and the Northern front troops retreating. That's where we'll strike," said Commandant Gubler, appearing resolute.

Their Imperial Majesties' Government confirmed they had enthusiastically sanctioned the operation, saying that it was a vital step in showing that the Septembrist objective was no more no less than the liberation of the entirety of the Crownlands from the Nimitz Regime. "We have focused, out of military expediency, on the Hulstrian North," said the Governor-General in a statement. "Now we have secured our position there with the aid of the coalition forces and set the stage for harrying the Reichsheer's retreat, we are able to turn our eyes South to Gao-Soto, where the bulk of the Kunihito population is crying out for us to set them free. We've been raiding prisoner transports for quite some time now - now it's time for a full-on action to secure Crownland Mitrania."

Crownlands, both liberated and still oppressed, celebrate 900th Anniversary of the Fifteenth of September
15th of September, 4311

Image
A hastily improvised 15th of September Commemoration held at the site of a recently-discovered mass grave holding Kunihito and Septembrist bodies in the Kiennese Plain, with members of the RBW standing a vigil

Kien, Hulstria - In the midst of the Second September Revolution, Septembrists across the Crownlands, both in liberated and occupied territory, celebrated their national day today, commemorating how 900 years ago to the day, a peaceful protest march got clubbed down by the North Dovani Union regime in Kien, sparking the First September Revolution. In improvised ceremonies all across the Crownlands, held clandestinely in occupied areas but proudly in the open in the liberated areas in the Crownlands of Budenlar, Hulstria and Mitrania, as well as Ostland, collectively observing silence to honour the memory of those who fell for freedom, democracy and tolerance and those who are still suffering across Terra and in the Crownlands under the heel of dictatorship.

Normally, the passage of a multiple of 5 years since 3416, the year of the victory over the North Dovani Union regime, would see elaborate celebrations on the 15th, with the commemoration being observed on the 14th. However, owing to the current struggle for freedom and democracy and the large parts of the country still oppressed by the Nimitz Regime, the Provisional Government called for commemorations and celebrations to remain sober, and fixed the commemorative ceremonies to noon on the 15th. Ceremonies were held with great gravity also at the sites of recently discovered mass graves, such as the site pictured above on the northern edge of the Kiennese Plain, which contained the remains of both Kunihito and Hulstrians who had presumably been shot for being Septembrists or other resistance fighters.

The Provisional Government itself attended the traditional focal commemorative ceremony in Kien, at site of the National Monument for the 15th of September, which had been torn down and replaced by the regime with a statue of the pretender Beatrice II in its attempt to rewrite history. As September Day approached, elated citizens of Kien had torn down the statue, pulling it from its place with an army van volunteered for that purpose by the Reichsbürgerwehr. So, as the traditional laying of wreaths in honour of the 15th of September was resumed at the site of the event in Kien, it had to happen around an improvised stand-in for the monument consisting of nothing more than a flagpole with the Union Flag and a sea of flowers left there the preceding day by citizens, with the Reichsbürgerwehr sollemnly standing guard.

After a sober speech in which he reflected on the recent deaths to be mourned ("Never had our forefathers anticipated that we would have to fight a Second September Revolution and lose so many of our dear friends to the tyrannical jackboots of a totalitarian regime again. It shows that our freedom is never self-evident."), Governor-General Hubert Michels, himself a descendant of the pivotal figure 900 years ago, then-Dean of the Heinrich University Legal Faculty Thomas Michels, flanked by both Emperors, read the traditional In Memoriam for the 15th of September, with a slight change:

On the 15th of September 3411, a group of peaceful protestors set out to protest the curtailment of their liberties. Their brutal deaths at the hands of the regime proved the spark of a 5-year struggle for freedom and democracy by which the peoples of Hulstria and Gao-Soto toppled their dictatorial government. Thanks to them and their sacrifice, our land became united and free. At noon on the 15th, all the Crownlands are silent for two minutes. Two minutes of national commemoration by which we remember them and all those that - in the Crownlands or wherever else in the world - have suffered or are suffering under dictatorial governments or lack of freedom, and those who have given and have been willing to give even now in these Crownlands their lifes for the sake of freedom and democracy.

Commandant Gubler, himself an aspiring bugler in the Heuboden Town Marching Band in his days as a civilian, took the honour of playing the Tappzu signal at the National Commemoration, and was seen wiping away a single tear during the two minutes of silence after his moving but not-entirely-perfect rendition of the military signal, which is derived from Luthori's Last Post. The improvised RBW Marching Band, bolstered with some troops from coalition forces, then burst into a rousing performance of the September Hymn resounding through the square with a thousand voices as the Union Flag, flying at half-mast since then, was raised to the top. Then, after the laying of wreaths by the Kaiser, the Mikado, the Governor-General and the Staatsminister, and Commandant Gubler for the RBW, the people filed past the makeshift monument, laying down flowers to honour the death and many of them shedding a tear for those they knew who they'd have to miss.

The low-key celebrations afterwards consisted this time only of this solemn file past the monument, but no doubt the Crownlands look forward to when the full, celebratory observance of September Day can be restored. In a statement, Michels remarked that he expected that "when we mark 900 years since the success of the September Revolution, I am confident that we will do so as a land of two peoples, united and free, and be able to fully rejoice in our democratic liberties once more."

CLANDESTINE LIBERAL GROUP CALLS FOR TAX REVOLT

Image
Natasha Wulfstein in front of her hot dog stand

MERENSGARTEN, KARSLAND/KURATHA - A number of citizens in Government-controlled areas have received or found USB sticks containing various messages inciting to a tax revolt as a response to alleged nepotism and oppressiveness by the regime. In a short video clip, a hot dog stand-owner who is presented as Natasha Wulfstein explains why she's refusing to pay her taxes.

We have the highest taxes in Dovani. Some pay half of their earnings to the state, and then an additional quarter of their business income. And what the %!#¤ do we get in return? We - the Class A Hulstrian men and women that our party is said to be all about? Curfews. Police that intrude out homes. Torture. Death squads. No guns. No personal freedom. All to protect the bohemian lifestyles of a select few. Had The Party behaved more like a corporation with an accountable CEO, we might at least  have had someone trying to do something about it. But it simply doesn't happen.

Until the State and the Party starts upholding their end of the bargain, I'm not gonna pay for anything. At all. If we're the Class A people we supposedly are, we can take care of ourselves without any super-corrupt party nannies giving us a spanking for going out to late at night.

Image
Jörg Glücksman

The clip is followed by a short segment from Jörg Glücksman, who introduces himself as a professional restaurant reviewer, and claims to be a leader of a libertarian branch of the Septembrist movement, adding the following:

Fellow Hulstrian. They can threaten us, imprison us, torture us, even kill one of us, or even a dozen of us. But they can never kill all of us. Because without our tax money and our production, our daily labour, 'they' wouldn't even exist. If all of you who listened to this would deny the state your tax payments for one month, the state would start to collapse. As long as they refuse to listen to people who feed them, we will reap the fruits of our labour ourselves.

Imperial Diet inaugurates renovated Diet complex; Government presents reconstruction plan

Image
The Imperial Diet complex still looks a bit battered but was deemed safe enough for the government to return to Kien

Kien, Hulstria - The Crownlands Government returned to its historic seat at Kien today as combined coalition-Septembrist forces prepare for the push that should result in the total liberation of Hulstria and Gao-Soto from the Nimitz Regime. In a historic ceremony, Emperors Otto III and Morihito re-opened the Imperial Diet complex, which although looking worse for wear had been successfully made safe enough for the relocation of the seat of government. At the liberation of Kien, RBW militias found the old buildings used as a makeshift fortification by the regime forces, forcing them to tread carefully to avoid damaging this highly symbolic location. The renovation was paid for in large part by donations from expats aligned with the International Septembrist Movement who had contacted Interior Minister Theophilus von Geraniengau to help out once they saw the footage of the Diet during Kien's liberation.

The inauguration of the renovated Diet complex is symbolic of the overall state of the liberated territories which now stretch all the way from the coast of Budenlar through all of Crownland Hulstria to most of Mitrania, down to People's Party-controlled territory in Hilgar. Its improvised character might well be symbolic: waiting for the final push of the coalition forces, local governments are making do to rebuild the damaged infrastructure and economy of the Crownlands, slowly but surely progressing towards business as usual. In his speech at the opening ceremony of the new Diet, Governor-General Hubert Michels referenced this: "This ceremony is symbolic of the flexibility and national spirit of the Crownlands - we are pushing forward day after day, but behind the frontlines, we are putting one basic yearning into practice: simply to live together in this shared land of ours. And as we re-open the Imperial Diet today, not yet fully restored to its former glory but enough to return to its normal life, let us think of it as a metaphor for our country - it may not yet be restored to its former glory but it will be enough to return to our normal lifes."

Later, Geraniengau presented a plan to the Diet for the reconstruction of the economy, especially appealing to the international community for aid. "We are grateful to our allies," said the Interior Minister. "For all they have done for us. But when Nimitz is gone, our country will be in tatters and we will have to pick up the pieces. The world needs a strong, democratic Hulstria and Gao-Soto. The more assistance they can render us in reconstruction, the sooner we will be able to play the stabilising role this region so badly needs. So I appeal to them: help us, we can only do so much on our own." It is thought that Viscount Fukuyama will be lobbying at the World Congress later for financial aid for the reconstruction.

New Operation Amatubime books early successes

Image
Deprived citizens inside the Heinrich line receive provisions in the early morning

Haus zu Geraniengau, Budenlar - Commandant Viktor Gubler himself has fired the engines on a daring new RBW plan to relieve the suffering of citizens stuck behind the Heinrich line. Septembrist activists inside the Hulstrian defensive perimeter, which spans large parts of Kuratha, Budenlar and a small part of Mitrania, have reported that citizens are being starved to death to feed the Hulstrian war machine. The operation, codenamed Amatubime after the Sun Goddess of Kamism, is part of a concerted effort to relieve the suffering of those citizens and gain a Septembrist foothold inside the Heinrich line. The daring plan involves RBW pilots, with just over a year of training under their belts, flying the few planes the RBW have right into regime-occupied territory with minimal air support by the Coalition to help them get through at the edges of the line and dropping parcels with food and arms to be picked up by Septembrist activists, concentrating on areas where a tax revolt has been going on.

Operation Amatubime is made possible by the fact that the economy in liberated areas is marginally on the up again, having been started up with the concerted efforts of Septembrist local governments. Surplus rations produced by farms in Mitrania are thought to form the bulk of the dropped food crates, while arms are mostly arms surplus to the requirements of the RBW which have been retrieved from munition depots in liberated areas. Yoshiro Shimano, the Staatsminister, said the Provisional Government considered it a duty to feed the starving citizens behind the Heinrich line: "When we see the deprivation the regime inflicts upon our fellow citizens, we cannot remain idle."

As a result of the operation, Septembrist activists are now emboldened enough to declare self-governing Gemeinden inside regime-controlled territory in patches of Kuratha and Budenlar, depriving the regime of control of these areas. Where Gemeinden have proclaimed their allegiance to the United Imperial Crownlands, armed citizens enthusiastically stormed farms where Kunihito and Hulstro-Showan citizens were forced to work, forcing out any regime officials by force and setting up a perimeter while waging a guerrilla war on any soldiers in the area. Though these new militiamen lack the training the RBW has by now, they are set to be a great nuisance to the regime as it struggles to keep afloat in the defense of the Heinrich Line. Commandant Gubler, after returning safely from a daring foray himself, said he hoped this would spur the Coalition forces into action: "It's a very bad situation out there. We're doing what we can to help them and destabilise the regime, but what we really need is to march into Thague and end this oppressive apartheid regime once and for all."

Septembrist heroes ready to protect downed RBW Airmen

Image
We shall say only once that we cannot confirm or deny that this man is the infamous Nachtadler, coordinator of an escape ring

Occupied Territory - As the regime prepares another infraction of international law and human rights in order to keep itself from its inevitable collapse, the heroic citizens of the Free Gemeinden behind the Heinrich Line have made contact with the RBW's operational headquarters in Geraniengau, Budenlar, in order to coordinate the escape of any downed RBW Airmen. Highly public places are being used as refuges for RBW Airmen, where Septembrist operatives can help to get them back across the Heinrich line. Commandant Kleinemann was not available to comment on the plans, pointing out that to do so would endanger operatives in the regime-controlled territories. However, airmen returning from tours of duty over the occupied territories have been told to look out for a man known as Nachtadler, who is the coordinator of the escape ring.

On the search for the elusive Nachtadler, we only met with secrecy. "Listen very carefully," said a woman involved with the escape ring who wishes to remain nameless, "I will say this only once. We cannot reveal the identity of anyone involved in this scheme. Maybe after the war we shall be able to put names to the Heroes of Hulstria and Gao-Soto who are bravely doing their duty."
