Die Stimme

Die Stimme is the third iteration of a clandestine newspaper published by the 15th of September Movement, the guardians of the Septembrist ideology of liberal democracy and multi-ethnic nationhood. The organisation distributing the newspaper is the fourth 15th of September Movement, succeeding the successful three movements which restored and safeguarded democracy in the Crownlands in response to various regimes.

Noise protest as Septembrist reclaim their Hymn

Members of the 15th of September Movement have resurfaced with a spectacular and daring action to protest the appropriation of their cherished Septembrist Hymn, so cruelly defaced by the ethnonationalist regime and torn away from its high ideals of a land of two peoples, united and free. When the national anthem was due to be played at a government event in the capital, a peaceful crowd of Septembrist protestors took out pots and pans and clanged them together to disturb the playing of the national anthem, chanting Septembrist slogans such as "united and free", "land of two peoples" and "remember, remember, the 15th of September". Protesters also were seen carrying the purple-white-green union flag of the United Imperial Crownlands.

When they were chased down by the police, the heroic members of the Septembrist Movement burst into full chorus of the original text of the National Anthem as written by Kunihito poet Mineta Miyauchi and composer Philipp Schröder, the version in use during the Septembrist era, during which there was a dual monarchy. When finished, they continued singing the anthem in Hulstro-Mikun and Kunikata as well.

Oh Land Unser'n Vater, Flüsse and Flachen reich!
Du leuchtest in die Sonne und wachst in der Dau!
Oh Land zwisch' Meer under Bergen, so schön wie Diamant,
Wir wollen dich grüssen, der freien Heimatland!

Der Kaiserin erhalt' Gott!
Hoch leb die Mikado!
Zwei Völker vereinigt,
Hulsterreich und Gao-Soto!

Oh Land unserer Vater,

Oh Land unserer Vater,
Vielseitig durch unser Streit,
Gesamtlich geboren, in Opfer eher Zeit,

Though some were arrested by the regime and brutally manhandled for this act of peaceful protest, most of the activists quickly disappeared following their protest.

Churches covered in Medgar Haas posters as Septembrists strike again

Image
Septembrist hero and Hosian saint of both the Aurorian and Luthoran churches, St. Medgar Haas, whose face was plastered up on church walls across the nation

In another daring protest action, Septembrist activists today targetted churches across the nation to protest against the abuse of the Hosian church by the regime. Overnight, Septembrist activists heroically plastered thousands of square metres worth of posters with the face St. Medgar Haas to the church walls of both Aurorian and Luthoran churches, including the National Cathedral in Kien, and placed thousands of small candles before them in honour of the saint.

St. Medgar Haas, a hero of the original 15th of September Movement, was a Cardinal of the Selucian Patriarchal Church who attended the protest march on the 15th of September, 3411, against the repression of the churches. As a testament to his status as a national hero, he was canonised both by his Aurorian faith and by the Luthoran Church of Hulstria, a feat celebrated with an ecumenical service in the National Cathedral presided over both by the Luthoran Archbishop of Kien, Hosianus von Grabengau, and the later Arch-Patriarch Justus III, Archbishop of Phönix Matthias Lemann. His patronage of people persecuted for their religion and of democracy makes him a potent symbol of the transformative power of the Hosian faith.

A spokesperson for the Medgar Haas-Gesellschaft, a group of clergy affiliated with the 15th of September Movement declared: "The Hosian faith is being cruelly mocked by the regime. If the Lord, in response to His commandment to love thy neighbour, were asked "and if he's Kunihito or Hulstro-Showan", He would question if there was something wrong with the questioner's ears. The prayer vigil for the intercession of St. Medgar Haas serves to remind church-goers that Hosianism does not tolerate oppression. We hope that many will join with us to relive the courage of St. Medgar Haas and his friends."

Reichsbürgerwehr reforms
High Command says objective is to "protect civilians from regime brutality"

Image

Heuboden, Mitrania - Following the forceful and fear-driven response by the dictator Leopold Nimitz banning the 15th of September Movement and ordering the arrest of all Septembrists, the Reichsbürgerwehr (Imperial Civil Army) reformed in rural areas of the country, especially the old Septembrist stronghold of Mitrania. Driven in that Crownland by a fierce regionalism opposed to the enforced name change of the region as well as anticipation of an expected crackdown on Septembrists, the Crownland's ceremonial militias banded together in a new militia dedicated to protecting civilians from regime brutality.

The National Council of the 15th of September Movement welcomed the formation of the Reichsbürgerwehr and stressed that it would not strike first against government forces. "Septembrism is and remains a peaceful movement that abhors political violence," Graf Michels stressed in a statement. "But we will defend ourselves against political violence instigated by the regime and that is why we welcome the Reichsbürgerwehr's reformation."

The Army Council of the Reichsbürgerwehr has reaffirmed its Septembrist allegiance. In a statement, the Commandant, who goes by the codename "Kleinemann", underscored the defensive aims of the organisation. "But the regime is warned. We will not tolerate violent repression of innocent civilians."

Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori claimant joins National Council
Archduke Otto III plans return to Hulstria

Image
The youthful Prince Otto (left) posing with Mitranian expatriates in Kazulmark

As the crackdown on the true history of Greater Hulstria by the government continues unabated, Septembrists struggling to retain the historic heritage of Hulstria and Gao-Soto rejoice at the impending return of the House of Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori to the political scene. The Imperial House, descended from Franz I, the first Emperor of Hulstria who won freedom from the Luthori colonial authorities and is regarded as the father of the nation, has been in exile ever since the Yukio-Labsburgs seized power (despite intermarrying with the Yukio-Labsburgs through the Jihibukai Emperor). Now with the Labsburg usurpers facing increasing internal resistance, the legitimate heir to both the Imperial Throne of Hulstria and to the Phoenix Throne of Gao-Soto (through the Okatori Clan) has responded to calls for aid from the 15th of September Movement, agreeing to join its National Council.

The Prince, whose full titulary to his supporters is "His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty, Otto III von Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori, by the Grace of God, Emperor of Hulstria; by the Will of Heaven Mikado of Gao-Soto, Emperor of Emperors and King of Kings of the Gao-Showan People, Lord of the Kunihito; King of Mitrania and Budenlar; Grand Duke of Hilgar and Kuratha, Elector of Tinako; Prince-Royal of Alduria; Prince-Royal of Luthori; Palatine of Phönix and Flieder; Duke of Marchau, Straussia, and Traugott; Grand Duke of Malchik, Tirvoslavl, & Stary Kautsky; Grand Prince of Vorm; Margrave of New Yodukan, New Luthor, and New Liore; Grand Duke of Belgae; Princely Count of Rothingren, Graaffsberg, and Veilchen; Prince of Hennersdam and Korriel." for now simply prefers to be referred to as "Archduke Otto III", saying that while he will gladly accept the throne of either Hulstria or Gao-Soto or both, he believes this should be left up to the people. "I am simply Otto Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori, a citizen of Hulstria and Gao-Soto answerring the call to fight for freedom. Whether I am an Emperor as well is up to the peoples of the Crownlands."

The Chairman of the National Council of the 15th of September Movement, Hubert Graf Michels, welcomed the Archduke into the fold. "I am personally deeply aware of the many deep bonds the Rothingren-Traugott-Okatoris have felt with the nation and I'm honoured to welcome Archduke Otto's assistance to our cause."

Proclamation by the National Council of the 15th of September Movement

HULSTERREICHER! KUNIHITO! FELLOW CITIZENS!

Throughout the history of our land of two peoples, united and free, the people have been strongest when they were together. Forged in the heat of the 15th of September, 3411, before the tanks of a Fascist regime, the Septembrist spirit has brought harmony, peace, democracy and freedom at long last to all the people of this land. The virtue of this spirit is unity in diversity, pride in our shared history, and fierce defence our rights as citizens of this land.

Now is the time to forge anew the old Septembrist ties between all the peoples of this land, and join in the common defence of our civil rights. The regime is divided and wavering, the dictator Nimitz unsure of the support of his highest-ranking colleagues. The international community is rising to the challenge of the regime, and ever closer to coming to our aid. And yet, the spectre of communism, another of the old foes bested by the spirit of two peoples united behind our democratic ideals, is rearing its head. We must now unite and rise as heroes, as Thomas Michels, the Father of the Constitution, Emperor Kurosawa the Great, Johannes Goddestreu and Florian Goddestreu did before us.

We must now find common cause, as citizens, against the oppression of Hulstrian, Kunihito and Hulstro-Showan alike.

Now, therefore, we, the National Council of the 15th of September Movement, declare that our aim is no more, no less, than the RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF A DEMOCRATIC AND SEPTEMBRIST UNITED IMPERIAL CROWNLANDS OF HULSTRIA AND GAO-SOTO.

We demand in these Crownlands the definitive end of apartheid and the claim of one people to rule all others. We must reclaim our shared history, the eradication of which has led the regime to falsify our history on a grand scale, defacing the very names of cities in our land, bastardising the symbolism of our national anthem and motto, even attempting to eradicate the Hulstrian dialect of Dundorfian. This history is the proud history of two peoples, become one nation, living forevermore in the land of our fathers. A nation whose spirit emerged from years of injustice and strife to triumph over its oppressors time and time again, which led the way on our continent for a peaceful coexistence of peoples, both native and the sons of settlers. Which triumphed over Imperial Socialists, Communists and neo-feudal oppressors alike. We are that nation, and we should reclaim that heritage.

We reject, with single intent, the rule of the usurper Beatrice and her Labsburg kin, whose interventions rather than protecting her people have led to even deeper oppression. In the spirit of our Hulstrian forefathers, who rejected the Luthori Crown when it acted likewise, we call for a return to monarchs ruling for the good of the people, both our peoples. We demand the reinstitution of a dual monarchy of Hulstria and Gao-Soto, and the return of His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty, Otto III von Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori, whose bloodlines unite both the Rothingren-Traugotts of Hulstria and the descendants of Kurosawa the Great, to the Throne of Hulstria.

We shall strive, united in heart and mind, for the restoration of democracy and of free, fair, democratic elections contested by multiple parties. We shall reject those parties which by their actions or intent strive to destroy our democratic system and the fundamental freedoms on which it rests, as well as parties which propagate the racial ideologies that have caused such misery in our time. We demand freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly and association, of religion and of education, the fundamental birthright of every human being. The land of Hulstria and Gao-Soto belongs to her citizens, Hulstrian, Kunihito or Hulstro-Showan or whatever other origin. Power should be exercised by and for all of these peoples. And today, the 15th of September Movement lays claim to it in their name once more.

We demand the restoration with their full and ancient freedoms of the Imperial Crownland of Hulstria, the Crownland of Budenlar, the Crownland and Free State of Mitrania, the Crownland of Hilgar and the Crownland of Kuratha, and the restoration of free municipal government for the cities and municipalities of this nation. We call upon all municipalities to reclaim their historic right to self-government, and band together until the United Imperial Crownlands are restored in full.

And we look forward to a day when Hulstria and Gao-Soto once more become a shining beacon of democracy, freedom and tolerance to Dovani and the world. When, across the world, we band together with like-minded nations in the defence of our values. Where we look forward to an age of peace in Dovani, and cooperation among all her peoples. The tragedy of plague has left us aching for cooperation; instead, we got warmongering. We will show the world a better way. And we call upon all our friends in the international community, all those of good will, to come to the aid of the citizens of the Crownlands, and help us reclaim our country.

AND TO THESE ENDS we reaffirm our principle of peaceful, non-aggressive agitation, trusting that our cause is righteous. But we warn to all those who would oppose and oppress the people: the Reichsbürgerwehr stands ready to defend our ideals. Wherever the regime seeks to oppress innocent citizens, they shall find us. Wherever they seek to threaten, cajole and intimidate us into silence, they shall find us more determined than ever. For this land was born together through all the pains of our fathers; they gave us the great joy that their eyes did not see: this land of two peoples, united and free!

So raise the standard of the Union, Purple, Green and White; let the Phoenix and the Firmament soar through the sky! Let For the Monarchy and Golden Empire resound for your people, sing with pride the Septembrist Hymn. Let the true spirit of our nation, this land of two peoples united and free, arise like the Phoenix from the ashes.

ARISE, CITIZENS, CROWNLANDERS! Reclaim our history and traditions, our rights and freedoms, our shared memories and our common destiny. And return to us this great joy for all the world to see: THE LAND OF TWO PEOPLES, UNITED AND FREE!

The Party Divided; Moderates Decide Nimitz Must Go

Image
Informed sources suggest Freiherr Von Geraniengau has decided it's time for Nimitz to go

Sources close to a group of moderate members of the Hulstrian Party hierarchy suggest that a party split is developing as the heavy-handed response to factionalism by Reichskanzler Nimitz is alienating more moderate members of the party leadership. A group that has been surfacing around elite party member Theophilus von Geraniengau, consisting of aristocrats, bureaucrats and some Hulstrian Luthoran clergy, seems to be at direct loggerheads with Kanzler Nimitz after the dictator lost it when Freiherr von Geraniengau questioned a recent change in policy towards homosexuality in the military. Though the state propaganda machine dismissed footage of this exchange as a fabrication and Geraniengau denied most strenuously, sources suggest that the tape was genuine. According to sources, Von Geraniengau was livid when the Reichskanzler lost his temper in open debate. "If Nimitz refuses to be helped," said our source, "then we can no longer work with him, lest he will have us all on trial for his crimes of desperation."

The faction surrounding Von Geraniengau is suggested to have concluded Nimitz must go to pave the way for negotiations with the international community and the Septembrist Movement. "The Freiherr and his club believe the cause is hopeless," said our source, "so long as Kanzler Nimitz keeps lashing out in paranoia at everyone around him. They have always felt the Party had gone awry since the Queen's coup and feel that in the long run, its holding on to a monopoly on political power will only help radical backlashes such as the Volksstaat. Better, they reckon, to try to bargain, but they increasingly see Nimitz as an obstacle to a rational response. Openly, Geraniengau may be calling on everyone to fall in behind Nimitz, but privately, I am pretty sure the Freiherr believes he is done for." In this regard, our source suggested that the referendum on plenipotentiary powers against the Volksstaat could be a "decisive moment".

The National Council of the 15th of September Movement reacted cautiously to the newest rumours, owing to the risk that they were part of a campaign of state disinformation. Graf Michels was crystal clear about the conditions of negotiations with any element of the regime: "We can only negotiate with any element of the regime if that means the end of apartheid, the one-party state and the whole body of oppressive laws the Otto-Mann and Nimitz eras left us with. I am sceptical that any element in the party can deliver that but we're willing to be surprised."

"New Imperial Hulstrian Party" joins 15th of September Movement
Rumours of Geraniengau faction's involvement neither confirmed nor denied

Image
The emblem of the Imperial Hulstrian Party, from whom the New KHP claims descent

A group of Hulstrian aristocrats and notables that calls itself the Neue Kaiserliche Hulsterreichische Partei has joined the 15th of September Movement, thereby resurrecting a name that has not been seen in the Crownlands since before the September Revolution. Claiming for itself the historical ancestry of the almost legendary KHP, a longstanding party of government in Greater Hulstria that distinguished itself by its undying loyalty to the House of Rothingren-Traugott and its commitment to good conservative governance, the group has joined the Septembrists in working for a restored democracy within a constitutional monarchy under the House of Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori.

The group made its existence known through a declaration that appeared on walls across Hulstria this morning, including the very walls of the Reichstag building, provoking what was reputed to be a frightful fit of classic Nimitzian rage in any loyal Hulstrian party peons passing by. The declaration was adorned with the arms of the Rothingren-Traugotts and the image of Otto III, the rightful heir to the Hulstrian throne, and called Beatrice von Labsburg a "tyrannic usurper" and Reichskanzler Nimitz a "pantomime villain unfit to rule even in his sparing moments of serenity and comparative sanity." A member of the 15th of September Movement's National Council confirmed to this newspaper that a member of the NKHP's executive council had joined the National Council.

Rumours abound that the emergence of the NKHP is connected to the recent fallout between the dictator and the Hulstrian aristocrat and party member, Theophilus von Geraniengau, whose family has KHP connections and whose support for the party has for some time been rumoured to be lukewarm at best. Requests for information on a possible connection between the dissident Freiherr and the NKHP, both with the group itself and the 15th of September Movement, were met with deafening silence. "I'm afraid it's not opportune to answer any questions given the current situation. They will make themselves known in time, I'm sure."

Otto III returns to Hulstrian soil

Image

A reliable source has confirmed that Archduke Otto III, the rightful Emperor of Hulstria, has managed to return from his exile and set foot upon Hulstrian soil. Though the whereabouts of the Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori patriarch are being kept secret, a spokesman for the 15th of September Movement confirmed that "His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty is back in the Crownlands and he is helping us organising and raising the morale of Septembrists everywhere. We look forward to seeing him on the throne." An audio message from the Archduke was also distributed to this newspaper and broadcasted on clandestine Septembrist radio stations: "I am glad to be back on Hulstrian soil, not as your Emperor but as your brother. I am but one of the many Septembrists now, helping to organise our cause so that we may win our freedom back. I hope to meet many of you in the coming years as I fight alongside you, confident that we will prevail."

United Imperial Crownlands of Hulstria and Gao-Soto declared restored
Septembrists organise Provisional Government

Image
The Septembrist government flies the old Union Flag of Hulstria and Gao-Soto

As the dictator Nimitz works to rid himself of the last vestiges of constitutional order left to his oppressive regime, Septembrists raised the Union Flag of Hulstria and Gao-Soto over small towns and rural areas across Hulstria proper (falsely labelled "Handenberg") and Northern Mitrania. Convening a provisional Reichstag consisting of representatives of self-organising Septembrist cantons from all over the Crownlands, including a large Kunihito contingent, the 15th of September Movement has declared the restoration of the United Imperial Crownlands of Hulstria and Gao-Soto under a Constitution strongly resembling the Constitution drafted in 3416 by the Verfassungsvater, Thomas Michels, with the addition of a clause banning undemocratic and racialist parties. Hubert Michels, the 22nd successor of the first Graf Michels and Chairman of the 15th of September Movement, was declared Governor-General, swearing allegiance in the presence of the newly-proclaimed Kaiser Otto III of Hulstria.

Although the newly-proclaimed Kaiser also holds legitimate claim to the Okatori lineage of Gao-Showan Emperors, no mention was made in the proclamation of this throne, although the "Imperial Person of the Mikado of Gao-Soto" was mentioned in the oath of allegiance. In a statement to this paper, the Kaiser explained his decision by saying he felt he was "too Hulstrian" to pursue his claim, saying that in light of the recent suffering of the Kunihito people under a Hulstrian supremacist regime, he did not feel he could rule Gao-Soto without the express consent of its people. Speculation abounds that His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty would rather pass the throne to another descendant of the legendary Okatori Emperor, Kurosawa the Great, and has asked representatives of the Kunihito nobility to look for the closest female-line descendant of the Okatoris via the daughters of Emperor Akihiko. The Rothingren household confirmed that that was indeed one of the options under consideration.

Though the Septembrist Government claims sovereignty over all the Crownlands, arguing in its proclamation that "the sovereignty of the peoples of Hulstria and Gao-Soto has been brutally violated and betrayed by the regime" before abjuring the regime and calling upon the international community to recognise and aid the new democratic state, the areas freed from regime control are still limited in number, centering around the Northern border of Crownland Hulstria and the mountainous Oberflachland region of Northern Mitrania. The Governor-General said he had high hopes that more areas would organise as self-governing cantons and send representatives to the rival government as the regime collapsed into infighting. "I think many will recognise the moment is now and join us."

Newly elected Foreign Minister of the Septembrist government, Prof. Seodoru Fukuyama, the Viscount Fukuyama, whose family lived in Dankuk since the regime began its campaign of discrimination against Gao-Showans and got him fired from the diplomatic service, called upon the entire international community to recognise the restored United Imperial Crownlands. He will later travel to the World Congress General Assembly to deliver a speech to that effect. "The world must now see the regime of the Hulstrian Party for what it is," he said. "Power-hungry, oppressive and utterly disrespectful of anything to do with human rights, freedom and democracy. We need aid to save Hulstria from the monster that is Reichskanzler Nimitz. We call upon all our brothers and sisters abroad to extend recognition and protection to our democratic government, and aid us in reclaiming our rights as citizens."

In a video circulated online and sent on a video tape to the Reichskanzler's office, the Reichsbürgerwehr militias declared their willingness to defend these towns from government aggression. In the video, the Commandant of the Reichsbürgerwehr, known by his nom-de-guerre Kleinemann, was seen with several tanks and in the presence of well-armed members of the militia, which bear a strong resemblance to equipment used by the Reichsheer. "Know this," said Kleinemann. "We are not the aggressors here. We shall defend those that have cast off the shackles of totalitarian dictatorship with our lifes. We strongly advise this illegitimate one-party regime not to try to curtail the freedoms of the citizens of the Crownlands again." In a statement, the National Council of the 15th of September Movement reaffirmed its principle of non-violence, stating that the Reichsbürgerwehr were armed for civil protection.

In response to a recent call by the People's Party of Hulstria for an alliance, Governor-General Michels appeared to have reservations. "We welcome any assistance that will rid us of this oppressive regime. But any future for Hulstria and Gao-Soto must be a democratic one. There can be no place for any ideology that curtails the rights and freedoms of citizens, be it of the left or of the right, as we learned during the days of the second 15th of September Movement," he said, referring to the renewal of the 15th of September Movement following an attempt by anarcho-communist paramilitaries to overthrow the democratic order. "If Comrade X is truly committed to a democratic, pluralist and free Hulstria and Gao-Soto, we welcome his offer of cooperation all the more. Even if that is not the case, we can agree to postpone some matters until after we cast down Nimitz and his regime." With this last statement, Graf Michels seemingly expressed his preference for a cease-fire at the very least.
