Letters from a New world, Digest of the IAER

Review of the situation of segregation in the world.

Now, these days, there is a controversial debate about the Saridan government and his theory about racial segregation. Their historical policy seems to be always close to this topic.

But how is the situation of segregation in the world? Is Saridan a lonely segregationist island?

A divided world

For arguments to discriminate or segregate people, there are 3 most frequent reasons, Race, Religion and Gender. The first is a pseudo-concept about ethnic groups. It is commonly used by governments that want power based on hatred of minorities. The second is an individual choice that should not affect the person. Gender is perhaps the most complex of all. Many times it does not depend on a specific legislation.

In addition, the discriminatory policies are divided into "suspicious categories", the obligatory registration of race/religion or "the recognition of interracial marriages and interracial Sex", for example. On the other side, the nothing suspicious "citizenship based on gender, religion or race" and the "apartheid".

Very suspicious categories

Requiring registration of a religion by a state to thier citizens is a way. It is not a bad policy nor has injust reasons, if anonymity is maintained. However, without anonymity is a "suspicious categories". Is the government who must explain why it seeks to identify each person by an individual opinion. Today 3 countries register the religion of each of their nationals. Vanuku, Telamon and Hutori. The majority is by traditionalist policies.

Something similar happens if the state forces its nationals to register their "race". This suspicious category is even worse. Being based on a false and anachronistic concept, neither explanation is simply true or sufficiently valid. Again, it is the government that must explain why want to divide ethnicities or identify peoples according to this false concept. Both Hulstria / Gao-soto and Baltusia demand this compulsive registration.

There are cases in which the state demands both suspicious categories, race and religion. Why does the state need to have all this information? if a person does not want to register one or both options, would not have to explain his desicion. Its his government who should answer the question. It is necessary? Today, Saridan and 6 other states still have this requirement in their legislation.

The non-recognition of the right to marriage for peoples of different "races" or gender is another suspicious category. Closely related to the illegality of "interracial" sex and its persecution. Even today, it would be considered a discriminatory policy for several reasons. Or what is the "legitimate overriding purpose independent of invidious racial discrimination which justifies these classification"? Is there any? In Kafuristan interracial marriages are not recognized, while in Saridan they are prohibited. In the last one, additionally, interracial sex is prohibited, while in Kalopia the practice is criminally punishable.

Discriminatory policies

However, if the Citizenship is granted based on race, religion or gender by accordance with current legislation, the registration compulsive will becomes in a apartheid. In the same sense, if ID cards or passports are not granted to people of minority religions or atheists, this suspicious category is a discriminatory policy. This does not happen in Saridan, but it does happen in Narikaton.

The Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton is a country that denies citizenship to members of ethnic, religious and gender "minorities". Many people neither have the most elementary rights nor can work because they are not considered "citizens" by the authorities of the country. This situation does not happen even in Sarindan.[...]

The International Alliance for Effective rights opens congress about indigenous peoples

intervention of Kecskés Joonas Erkki, professor at the Delvataros University

[...] "Although the definition of indigenous peoples in Keris is still discernible, the truth is that today there are peoples that existed prior to the creation of the states, and these peoples are subject to certain limits of their own desires. In Egelion, perhaps, is the strongest movement to break this logic [...] In our confederation the Kuzakis are the minority with the most violated rights, although the extension of their town was quite wide, today their concentration in the mountains is evident. Its development is limited, since it is one of the most desert regions in the country It is not surprising that economic production is based on raw materials and its government depends on the resources redistributed by the confederation. [...] "

Intervention of Järnefelt Emilia Mikaela, professor at the international university

[...] "Several countries have ratified the Treaty on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and have made progress in applying their rights, today there are several ethnic and nationalist conflicts and governments have been successful in providing a normative framework in which to recognize and discuss diverse interests" [ ...] "The TRIP is the starting point, but it will also relax the demands, let them have their own flag, with their own beliefs, even with a semi-autonomous government, the countries will keep for themselves not only the important rights. The power of veto will be non-delegable "[...]

The proposal to promote the TRIP was accepted unanimously on the first day of the congress. It is expected that the final document will be signed in a week.
