We second the Chair's proposal of a special fund devoted to fighting the economic downturn. The Kafuris raise an important issue - would we require a new organisation or perhaps treaty amendment. We believe that while both should prove necessary in the long term, we can perhaps coordinate state efforts to help the hardest hit member states in the short term. Loans/bailouts from private companies should crrtainly be part of the relief effort.

We welcome the proposal as well. Deltaria is currently hard at work to create such mechanisms for itself but if the MEA would create such a fund it would greatly benefit all Majatran nations. Thus we highly encourage this move. We would like to ask the chair if he has a concrete proposal ready for all of us to vote on?

I would like to ask the chairman if it isnt time for another election at first? Then i would like to ask the other members for a response on the creation of a MEA funds besides our current fund to prepare for future crisis. If all members agree we would like to start formal negotiations on how this fund would look.

We would propose that each member state contribute a fixed percentage of its GDP e g. 0.25% Wealthier nations could perhaps contribute greater percentages. Alternatively each country could contribute on a voluntary basis and perhaps gain a voting share equivalent to its contribute...like some kind of international monetary fund or Majatran Development Bank.
