Selucian Catholic Conference of 2956

Postby freelibertarian » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:08 pm

His Holiness Pope Gregory I of the Selucian Catholic Church has come to visit Barmenia so as to establish Diocese in the country. The Pope was met by Queen's Regent Peter L. Marshall and Premier Jacob C Kennedy, both of which are Catholic. The Pope was also allowed the honor to speak to the Grand Assembly and is currently on a nationwide tour of the country. The Pope was received by mixed reactions by the Barmenian people; some consider His Holiness to be an arm of Selucian colonialism while others see him as a great spiritual leader. In any case, security is on high alert.

Agenda

1. Pope's power to permit and nullify royal marriages in Selucia and Barmenia.

2. Can a Catholic clergyman or a nun be allowed to enter politics at the same?

3. The establishment of Dioceses in Barmenia, the appointing of Bishops

4. Procedures for calling a Conclave in the event the current Pope dies

5. Techniques and plans for evangelism

6. A reaffirmation of traditional Catholic dogma and doctrines

And any other issues that may present themselves.

Pope Gregory's visit to Barmenia continued today and in the national cathedral of Barmenia elevated five Priests to the office of the Episcopate and were placed to rule over the new Dioceses in the land. One Archdiocese and four Dioceses were created with the new Archbishop placed in charge of the church in Barmenia. The Bishops were presented to the Barmenian people and were received with great jubilation.

Archdiocese of Murdhild: Ausonio Padovesi
Diocese of Arakhim: Massimo Dellucci
Diocese of Ikegaru: Damiano Udinese
Diocese of Uthena: Ciro Ferri
Diocese of Sisula: Albino Lorenzo

In addition to this Ausonio Padovesi the new Metropolitan Archbishop was elevated to the Cardinalate.

OOC: I'm assuming this visit took place during in the past, during the Libetarian Catholic Party majority, however we would like point out that current events would mean any diocese set up would be removed within a year, just in case you are not aware.
