The Majatran Union is a government entity that ties Barmenia and Jelbania into one currency, one defense, one foreign policy, and one government. Jelbania has stated its purpose to increase membership to Vanuku.

Summer 3201

Jelbanian sponsored Democratic Republicans entered Vanuku and received additional support from the Barmenian government. The Democratic Republicans quickly gained visibility and popularity among the Libertarian people of Vanuku. In the election of 3201, the Democratic Republicans won only 23 seats or 11% of the vote against incumbent party Social Liberal Party. A minor communist party got little over 0% of the vote. After the disappointing election results, Democratic Republicans turned to civil disobediance and then violence against the current regime. Jelbania and Barmenia gave open support to the rebels as they attempted a coup on the capital Fort Bartlet. Rebels were successful in Bomotos, a region that borders Jelbania. Foreign troops have entered Vanuku through Bomotos by Jelbania and Sovestos by Barmenia. The two forces are attempting to meet in the middle in Vahama.

Spring 3202

Majatran Union backed forces have successfully sacked the Vanuku government expelling the Social Liberal Party from office. National Chairman Michiel Van Buren will continue his office, but will be under house arrest. The ruling regime under the Democratic Republicans will enact legislation allowing parties to form a new cabinet without the Head of State's consent. Upon the formation of a new cabinet, the National Chairman will be made irrelevant politically. The Democratic Republicans now have 100% of the seats and have no plans to call early elections delaying any electoral success for the rival Communist Party. Immediate reforms include a new flag, local government control over the election of mayors, and cabinet formations. The Democratic Republicans intend to advance their local government programs and pass the Majatran Union treaty. Vanuku will be renamed the Democratic Republic of Vanuku ending the 2nd Republic.

#3 The MU President has rotated to Dwight Clinton of Jelbania in September 3202 for a term of four years
#4 The MU Allied Commander has rotated to Minister of Defense Gen. Andy Jackson of Jelbania in September 3202 for a term of two years.

Resolutions

#1. The MU is resolved to include Childania and Vanuku into the MU
#2. The MU is resolved to invite Childania into the MU Jelbanian Football League
#3. The MU is resolved to place Childania third in succession for President and Allied Commander in front of Vanuku despite passing the treaty one month earlier.

MU President Clinton voiced his concerns over the treaty Global Freedom, Equality, and Security Initiative. Although the treaty doesn't specifically mention the MU, it has been used politically as an alternative to the MU. The MU President is concerned that Majatran may become a continent of opposing super alliances as well as Coburan/Deltarian power in Lake Majatra.

Majatran Currency Proposal

Article 1: The currency of the Majatran Union shall be equivalent to the strongest currency among nations legitimately signed to the treaty.

Article 2: The currency of the Majatran Union as of 3204 is the Cildanian currency.

Article 3: The exchange rate is as followed:

Cildanian = Cildanian: 1.000
Jelbanian = Cildanian: 1.6017
Vanuku = Cildanian: 1.3404
Barmenian = Cildanian: 1.0166

Article 4: Barmenian currency will be affected only slightly by the new currency changes. Jelbania and Vanuku will face deflation of their currencies, which will decrease their exports dramatically by increasing the price of their goods. A recession in these two countries is expected.

Article 5: This proposal shall be approved by a majority vote of all parties in the MU.

Honorable Union Members,

The Federal Republic of Likatonia has recently had an oil embargo placed on our trade industries by the nations of Al'Badara, Kafuristan and Luthori. While none of these nations are involved in the Majatron Union, we believe that it is necessary to make other nations of Majatra aware of the situation. Should this oil embargo not be lifted, Likatonia will have no choice but to once again invade these nations of Majatra, which would involved the entirety of Majatra.

Please consider speaking to Kafuristan, Al'Badara and Luthori about this overly aggressive and unneeded foreign policy shift. We have done no recent harm to these nations, including leaving Jakania peacefully and giving back their proper Prisoner's of War.

Dear ladys and gentelmen of the Majatran Union,

I as head of the selucian government and head of state do not see a possible threat in your organisation. However, Selucia is concerned about the danger of war and your threat to other nations in the region.
I therefore suggest that both sides have to calm down. But Selucia also is intersted in a association agreement between us and the Union.
Apart from this, we urge both sides to find a peaceful solution.

The oil Embargo must be stopped, it is an obvious ploy to start another conflict. Keymon though is worried and ready for what may come. I recommend following Mr. Fourunes advice.

To the Honorable Likatonian Ambassador,

As presiding President of the MU I am sympathetic to your position. Luthori has attempted to be involved in Majatran affairs recently in Jakania and now Deltaria. Jelbanian foreign policy is to have Majatra be rulled by Majatra, which was one of the founding principles of the Union. That said, any military action we may take requires Rildanor style approval in every nation of the MU. Once this happens, which is very plausible all MU forces will be under the command of the Allied Commander of the MU. Of course any attack on an MU nation will trigger an automatic response. I will be working to review all treaties signed by the four nations in the MU to see if any of those treaties contradicts the MU Treaty.

To the Honorable Selucian Ambassador,

The MU would be willing to negotiate Associate membership to Selucia, which would simply mean that if Selucia is attacked all MU nations will automatically defend Selucia. In the event a MU nation is attacked, Selucia would be obliged to assist. Selucia also cannot be signed to a treaty that negatively affects a MU nation directly or indirectly. Selucia would not be eligible for the Presidency of the MU or the Allied Commander post, which means that Selucian forces would also be under the control of a foreign commander in the unlikely event the MU is attacked. Selucia could become a full membership as long as the HOS is an elected position; the elected position could be a representative of a Monarch under the "Constitutional Monarchy" requirement. The Monarchy of Selucia would also have to be independent and not under the control of one outside Majatra. For example, if the Selucian Monarch married a Luthorian Monarch and then Selucia was then controlled by the Luthori crown; such a scenario would not be permissible. If Selucians have any questions about this, they can contact the Jelbanian Federalist Party of which I am the head of.

MU President Dwight Clinton is considering a process in which Majatran nations will make claims on Vascania. The President believes that Majatra nations on the west coast have reasonable claims to the island continent across the ocean. The President is willing to negotiate territory and may change his colonization plans with the addition of Zardugal to the MU. The President however rejects any claims to Vascania that are not of Majatran origin. Once claimed by the MU, any attack on that territory will automatically trigger all forces to be placed in the hands of the MU Allied Commander. The MU President has not officially made a claim as of 3205, but is expression an opinion on the matter. A claim will require majority approval of the MU Legislature, and the President seeks unanimous consent.

OOC: I am sorry to inform you but those are already Colonies of other nations. Luthori, Zard. Fed and Malivia claim those lands and have had them under control for about 500 years now. The map can be found on the wiki and and somewhere on the Forum
