'Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reviewing all the international treaties that have been established during the former legislatures. Seeing that our nation has undergone some drastic constitutional and legislative reforms during the last decade, the current treaty may no longer be relevant.
The 'Kizenian-Endralonian Friendship & Alliance Treaty' is exactly 100 years old! Amazing, time for a fresh start!
This treaty was drafted in December 3399
The current treaty text contains the following articles:'
The nations of Kizenia (New-Endralon) and Endralon (hereafter known as the contracting parties) have had a rich and sometimes dark history and relations between the two nations havent always been great. With this treaty each party agrees to the following to ensure lasting peace, friendship and prosperity between the two people's who are distant brothers:
Article I
The contracting parties respect each other's choice for the course of political, economic, social and cultural development.
Article II
The contracting parties shall energetically enhance and develop exchanges and cooperation in defence, culture, education, information.
Article III
In handling their mutual relations, the contracting parties will neither resort to the use of force, or the threat of force nor take economic and other means to bring pressure to bear against the other. The contracting parties will solve any differences through peaceful means only.
Article VI
In the field of military strategy and tactics, the contracting parties will endeavour to bring their doctrines closer together with a view to reaching common conceptions.
Article VII
The contracting parties shall endeavour to bring about the required conditions in which seamless collaboration can be achieved in the field of defence.
Article VIII
Research organisations and scientific institutions will develop their contacts beginning with the fullest possible exchange of information. Coordinated research programmes will be set up in disciplines where this is feasible.
'Colleagues, we propose to change the introduction text. In my opinion, the starting point of this treaty needs to be about a bright future, not a dark history. Secondly, some of the articles are perhaps too vague. But as correctly stated by Mr. Farragius, we can use this treaty as a starting text for this wonderful conference between both our nations.'
