Hulstria and Gao-Soto invite Dovanian representatives to economic conference

The famous mountain resort of Sankt Anton will host the conference

Sankt Anton, Budenlar, Hulstria and Gao-Soto - Preparations are underway for a summit on Dovanian Economic Integration and policy coordination at the mountain resort of Sankt Anton in Hulstria's Crownland Budenlar. Representatives of all Dovanian Governments were invited to attend the summit, named the Dovani Economic Forum, by Hulstria and Gao-Soto's Foreign Minister Anne Nishimura. So far, Indrala and Hulstria and Gao-Soto have confirmed their attendance, which the Crownlander Government hopes will push the plans for economic integration in the continent of Dovani into the next phase. Plans for integration have stalled since negotiations over the so-called Dovani Transport System took longer than expected.

When the delegations have assembled at St. Anton, the conference will be opened by Governor-General Johannes Goddestreu. It will be chaired by the Hulstrian delegation.

(OOC: Please confirm your attendance and your delegations here.)

The Celestial Empire of Great Indrala shall send the Minister Herald, of the Household, and of Foreign Affairs who shall make the necessary reports to the Indralan Government. After preliminary meetings are held, it will be up to the discretion of the Imperial Court whether to send more delegates (such an event is likely).

Indrala is greatly looking forward to this conference and notes the enthusiasm the Gao-Showan peoples appear to have in regards to greater Dovani unity.

Though the preliminary meetings were interrupted by a change of government, the new government of Hulstria and Gao-Soto has issued invitations for continuing the conference.

Invitations have been sent to the governments of Kazulia, Talmoria, Lourenne and Sekowo to attend as well.

(OOC: In the meantime, we'll start the preliminary discussions and assume that governments that wish to attend were attending from the start)

der sehr ehrenwerter Matiasu Fukuyama, MdR
Foreign Minister of Hulstria and Gao-Soto

A very warm welcome to St. Anton. Although Their Imperial Majesties and Her Excellency the Governor-General will be with us this evening to formally open the conference, we are keen to get discussions started on what we wish to achieve this conference.

For the United Imperial Crownlands, economic integration is key to the future of this continent. We commend Indrala's efforts towards a Dovani Transport System which would link by high speed rail capitals across the Continent, but we are convinced that there is more we can do. We would like to conclude at this conference a statement of principles declaring our commitment to a Dovani Economic System or Economic Community, connecting our economies for our mutual prosperity. The form this DES or DEC is to take and the extent to which we will open up our economies is an area we would welcome any and all views on.

His Grace the Most High, Noble, and Potent Prince Meng Kuang
Minister Herald, Minister of the Household, and Minister of Foreign Affairs

On behalf of His Imperial Majesty and the Imperial Court and Government of the Celestial Empire of Great Indrala, I would like to thank the honorable delegation from Hulstria and Gao-Soto for hosting this most important event. Like I have stated many times before, it is wonderful to see the nations of Dovani work together to achieve the common good, especially when the Gao-Showan peoples throughout Dovani appear to be among the most active proponents of this common good.

While I agree with the Rt. Hon. Minister Fukuyama in Dovani's overall goal, I believe that Dovani can only get there on a gradual basis. The governments that attend this conference cannot create a brand new treaty describe the future Dovani Economic System, etc. and expect it to realistically fall into place. By gradually creating the system, first by doing all that we can legally and infrastructure wise to allow the free movement of peoples, goods, corporations, and all other economic essentials can we actually move onto other important goals, such as free trade.

Until we complete the first step of this grand idea, we cannot realistically move further.

It seems His Grace the Minister Herald and I are, in effect, in agreement. What I was proposing was making a principled agreement here that we see the completion of the Dovani Transport System as the first step towards a Dovani Economic System as an overall goal. Future Dovani Economic Forums, held here or at other places, would then be held to discuss the progress of the steps we have taken and see whether we can agree on new steps.
