The honoured delegation of Vanuku votes yes on this proposal and assigns veteran party member Marcel Wielaeck, retired lieutenant-colonel Vanuku Army, to take up the position of Chair of the Majatran Peace and Security Council. We lay pressure on the voting so that we may move to more pressing matters. While the voting continues we will address these at once.

The nation of Vanuku wishes to ask our dear Majatran neighbours and compatriots to keep a watchful eye against the dangers of oppression. The first cracks of human rights are visible in Selucia where a blatant genocide of Hosians seems unavoidable. We have send a fleet, the PONAC patrol fleet, to guard the international waters and take aboard any refugees. We hope other like-minded Majatran nations will join us and in the end help the citizens of Selucia.

Our delegation yields the floor to other speakers.

Jamie Voorvelden, Minister of Foreign Affairs
Eksander W. Salyzr, Prefect of the Council and Chairman of the Federal Party
Marcel Wielack, ret. Lt. Col. VBSAF, Head of Resources, Defence Ministry

The Caliphal (Kafuri) delegation votes YEA to Resolution 01.

The delegation's leader Crown Prince Mukrin al-Razama speaks in support of its fellow countryman, the candidate for Secretary General, Harun ibn Mustafa al-Qoralus.

Al-Qoralus has served the Caliphate ably in several diplomatic posts across Terra. His diplomatic talents will serve the Majatran continent well and while we would loath to lose him, it is a sacrifice for the greater Majatran good. He's part of what looks to be a dynamic team for Majatra.

The Crown Prince also commented on the ongoing Selucian controversy (OOC: hypocrisy is allowed, right?)

The crackdown on human rights is Selucia is extremely worrying. Hosians are People of Book and thus we as Ahmadis are always concerned about their welfare as with any other people of the Book. We knew Communists would be no good, as they never were in the Caliphate. We hope the Council will take harsh and corrective measures against the wicked regime. We yield to their speakers

The Caliphal delegation is made up of:
Crown Prince Mukrin al-Razama - Qatib and Minister of Foreign Affairs
Gen. Ali al-Miyatah - Minister of Defence
Ababdullah ibn Saif al-Razama - Ambassador to the Council of Majatra

OOC: hypocrisy is allowed, right?

OOC: Reddy! What organization would be complete without hypocrisy?

IC
Ambassador Stephens rises:
"My fellow delegates. Thank you for the speed and decisiveness on which we are all working. Indeed, today we witness a volatile situation in the island states of Majatra. It is imperative to get the MPSC working so as to provide a proper response.
Currently the Majatran Agency for Human Rights (MAHR) will be conducting a full investigation of the matter and will soon transmit its conclusions to the council at large and provide recommended action. Right now we feel that the appropriate action will be formally legalize the Vanukuean refugee assistance mission as a MU organized and led refugee assistance mission. We also seek to enact trade and financial sanctions and to make sure this regime is not funded or supported by any Majatran nation."

Cildania votes yes on resolution 1.

Cildania has deep concerns about the aggressiveness shown by some of the nations here towards our closet ally Selucia.
We have contacted our neighbours to see if we can workout a peaceful resolution for everyone and believe that a diplomatic response over a military is our current best option. In our current treaty with Selucia any citizen of their nation may travel to ours where we champion free speech and free to practice religion (under certain conditions) so in order to see if we can avoid any international presence in the nation we must make sure those people are free to travel to Cildania to live their lives in peace.
Another point I would also like to make is that Selucia is not a member of the Majatran Union.

Finally if we are going to bring up points of human right abuses around Majatran then we cannot ignore that blatant abuses committed by your own nation Kafuristan Harun ibn Mustafa al-Qoralus. Why would we punish one region and celebrate the others?

A visibly irritated (Foreign Minister) Crown Prince Mukrin al-Razama responds to Cildanian comments about the state of human rights in the Caliphate.

Cildania's comments show extreme ignorance of Kafuri culture and politics. Ours is a nation where public policy is guided by Ahmadi values. I challenge the representative from Cildania to show one tiny aspect of Kafuri public policy which contradicts Ahmadi values. This is an attempt at cultural imperialism and an insult to the citizens of the Caliphate! Our values can never be questioned nor compared to those of any other nation!

We back the valiant efforts by Vanuku and wish to contribute financially to the cost of resettling and sheltering the refugees from Selucia. The Vanukuese mission should be given recognition as an MU mission. We also back the plan to impose sanctions on this wicked regime

Cildania could not care less about 'Ahmandi' values if someone's interpretations of 'Ahmandi' values means persecuting the innocent and blocking basic civil rights which Prince al-Razama seems to think is completely okay. It also an excuse to try to dismiss the point that that the human rights abuses committed in Kafuristan are going to be be ignored while Selucia will be punished by tough sanctions that will only hurt innocent people. Cildania will ignore any sanctions unfairly put on this nation while Kafuristan continues to go unpunished for their human right abuses at the same time. Any course of punishment MAHR sees fit for Selucia then Kafuristan should receive double the punishment. If they do not we are punishing a nation NOT in the Majatran union while allowing a nation IN the Majatran union to continue their crimes against humanity.

ALSO any military action put in or around the islands of Selucia will be met with Cildanias navy that are being dispatched onto the scene until this matter has been resolved. Cildania feels there are forces inside the Majatran Union that have already made up their mind and feel they can control the union any which way they please without proper authority here first.

With permission, i would like to say a few word about the current situation in the Imperium Selucianum

As you all know, with the victory of the communists the government passed a law persecuting hosians for their faith. We as official opposition oppose the law and obtained a court order by the district ourt of Auroria, which stopped the execution of the law, in fact immidiately.
As long as the constitutional court has not made a final decision this decision by the district court remains in effect.

At the moment, no religion is persecuted in the Imperium Selucianum.
