Official Statement :: His Virtuous Imperial Majesty, Choesun II :: The Great Kyo Empire
The Empire has been monitoring this so-called Gao-Showan Conference and we do believe it is in quite poor taste that such a conference be held in Majatra. Furthermore, to be held in Kafuristan. It is disappointing that the Chann Family has decided to pursue such Mikokuzin-centric stances when it is the sole political power holder in a nation that is very much aligned to Majatran culture, not Dovanian. The Empire has always afforded recognition to Gao-Showan minorities around the world, and such initiatives have also been supported through the International Committee for Mikokuzin Culture. Nonetheless, we worry about the interests of the native Majatran peoples, who are the majority. In Dovani, we have long grappled with the pains of minority-rule. As such, the Chann monopoly over Kafuri politics is concerning. But, as is our historical approach, the Empire doesn't meddle deeply into such far away issues.
But what has attracted our attention are these calls for a united Gao-Showan empire. It is quite naive to make such a proposal considering the great controversy that always comes with these discussions. Much worse, however, is the decision of the conference to makes such proposals without even having the attendance of the historical Gao-Showan hegemons, Indrala and Gao-Soto, and the Great Kyo Empire. The center of Gao-Showan civilization is in Dovani and any discussion of its future should be here, in the Gao-Showan world, and with the proper representation for all Gao-Showa. The Chann Family has no right or legitimacy to lead such discussions.
The Empire again expresses its great distaste with this conference. We ask that the conference refrain from discussions of a Gao-Showan empire unless it plans to greatly reform its approach. Even then, we would prefer to avoid the negative conflicts that usually accompany the claims over the leadership of such an empire.
