OOC: Let me preface this by saying thanks for showing interest and I hope you'll still want to get involved in football role-play. I think you're perhaps not understanding how international football operates or what these rankings mean.

The world rankings above are just an estimate based on the results of various international matches that take place throughout the course of a season (both competitive tournaments and qualifications matches and official friendlies) rather than a league system. National teams typically only meet to train during breaks in domestic club competition or prior to major tournaments (like the World Cup). For this reason, it's unrealistic to suggest that a national team would be training three days a week during the season, the players would be training with their domestic clubs during this time and wouldn't be free to meet with the national team.

Once again, glad you're interested in the role-play but just some advice about how it all functions.

In a surprising result for pundits and supporters alike, the Lourennais national team have pulled of a remarkable feat to emerge successful in the 4740 IFF World Cup final in Valois. Playing in front of a home crowd undoubtedly gave Lourenne an advantage as their physical and organised style prevailed over the passing-oriented approach of tournament favourites Selucia. Despite the final score being 2-0, the game was competitive until the very last moments as both sides left everything on the field.

Lourenne captain Frédéric Arceneaux thanked the thousands of supporters who had turned out to support the team in the stadium, as well as the millions across the country for their role in the national team's success. The result provides Lourenne with their first World Cup success in a generation and will be remembered across the country for many years to come. The team's success in the tournament was the result of a combination of factors that included their vocal supporters, red hot striker Pierre-Antoine Blanchard and the disappointing performances of several pre-tournament favourites including Luthori and Dundorf.
