The fourth edition of the FOMAT international song competition is taking place in Mesul, Jakania. Hosted by presenter Aya Firat and FOMAT-III winner Asena Tiraz, each act will be judged on a 50-50 jury and televote system. There are fourteen acts from fourteen different countries, each with a unique flavour to bring to the contest.
First up, we have the winner from last year, performed by one of your hosts, Asena Tiraz: Last year's winner - Asena Tiraz - Okyanus
The first act is from Yingdala. It's a passionate, patriotic ballad to start of the night: 1 Yingdala - Bai De - For The Country
The second act is from Istalia. It's a heavier number performed from a gripping band: 2 Istalia - Liberi Liberi - Inadeguato
The third act is from Kalistan. It's a punk rock track performed by a group with a lotta attitude: 3 Kalistan - Gigi and the Poppers - Dominate
Next up we have a fusion of traditional Selucian language with a grungy undertone. It's the heart-throbs from Selucia: 4 Selucia - Vicani - Salve, Parve
Up next, we have the pleasure of introducing a funky group with heaps of Dovani groove. It's the entry from Liore: 5 Liore - Sauti Liore - Savannah
In for our sixth act of the night, Vascania is bringing a hip-hop track with positive vibes. It's our first duo of the night: 6 Vascania - Jasmeen Saprai ft. Dilbaag Zandhi - Illicit Weapon
Up at number seven, we have a reggae tune with anti-establishment cred. It's Endralon: 7 Endralon - MM - Bye-bye Mr. President
Our next entry is from the nation of Kanjor. A culturally fitting song, we're sure you'll agree: 8 Kanjor - Désiré Rémy - Querelle
With a bit more of a gentle entry, we have a ballad from Deltaria. It's our second duo of the night performing their heartfelt track: 9 Deltaria - The Twins - Lonely Hearts
Next we have a rock song from Gao-Soto. She's a big star back home, but can she bring home the gold? We'll let you decide: 10 Gao-Soto - Rui Sugita - Anata wa Kiite Imasen
With a heartfelt song and a mixture of modern and traditional inspirations, we have the song from the Dovani nation of Medina: 11 Medina - Avi Zirhan - Hamaray Liye
With a bit of an avant-garde entry, we've got the act from Keymon. We advise that small children vacate the room if you're watching at home: 12 Keymon - Mark Globü - Anana
Next up we have a very different track. It's Jakanian-language hip-hop and it's giving us some major vibes: 13 Jakania - Atom + Akkoz - Yaks
Finishing off tonight we have a track mixing the different cultures of the world into one catchy melody. It's Sekowo: 14 Sekowo - Thursday Campanera - Hashire Merosu
All of the acts have performed and now it's up the professional jury and the public at home to make their selection. 50% of the vote will be from the professionals while the viewers make up the other 50%. With all votes now complete, we're moving on to the exciting results sequence. Are you ready? Here we go: In 14th place, with 27 points, we have... Keymon! In 13th place, with 30 points, we have... Endralon! In 12th place, with 33 points, we have... Medina! In 11th place, with 42 points, we have... Kalistan!
We thank all the entrants for taking part, even if they didn't score very well... We move on to our top ten: In 10th place, with 57 points, we have... Istalia! In 9th place, with 60 points, we have... Deltaria! In 8th place, with 66 points, we have... Yingdala! In 7th place, with 78 points, we have... Jakania!
Oof, it's starting to get very warm in the arena. Everyone is holding their breath. On we go to find our some more results! In 6th place, with 84 points, we have... Kanjor! In 5th place, also with 84 points, we have... Selucia! In 4th place, with 90 points, we have... Gao-Soto! In 3th place, with 96 points, we have... Sekowo!
This means it's between Vascania and Liore. Whatever happens, we're going to the far east for the next FOMAT in five years time. One of these acts scored 102 points. One of these acts scored 105 points and won the fourth edition of FOMAT.
