Mengistu Haile Beeman visits the Holy Luthori Empire

Azban, Marligantos

The nation had calmed down following the steps JayCo and Beeman took. Everyone seemed much more happier with the changes made and everything was running pretty smoothly.

Mengistu exited The JayCo Building into military trucks and the convoy sped to the airport with police escort.

He boarded a JayCo private jet. A few moments later, the jet was off to the Holy Luthori Empire.

The Chairman of the Provisional Military Administrative Council had been invited for an official state visit. He also knew it probably had something to do with business as well considering Hexlon's headquarters and his dual role as the Chairman/CEO of JayCo.

Fort William, Orange

As the private jet entered Imperial airspace, two grey RFC-1 Phoenix scramjet fighters positioned themselves on either side of the private jet, to escort the VIP transport to Philippe Villayn international airport. As the jet started its descent, its occupants could clearly make out the enormity of the Imperial capital of Fort William. Towering above all other structures and on the bank of the Orange River, the Imperial Palace stood as the largest building in the city. It was surrounded by a multitude of art deco and Neo-Gothic style skyscrapers, which made up the business and ultra upper class residential districts, where many an aristocrat lived, sometimes having a whole tower to himself. The city was, like all Luthorian metropolises, lined with an innumerable amount of highways and quite a few monorail lines. In the distance, a huge black cloud of smoke could be seen, indicating the industrial district.

Finally, after a long, six hour flight, the Gaduridan private jet landed on a private runway of the Philippe Villayn International Airport. It was a cold, grayish day and the temperature hovered around 10 degrees Celsius. As Mr Beeman walked down the ramp to the tarmack, the Imperial Prime Minister, Prince Gustavus of Orange, greeted him. He was surrounded by a number of Imperial Household guards and dignitaries and was wearing an exquisite Luthorian white long coat and as a very prominent member of the aristocracy, carried a beautiful rapier:

"Mr Beeman, I would like to be the first to welcome you to the Holy Luthori Empire. I hope your visit will be most enjoyable and profitable. Please excuse the weather, August is the only month the temperature reaches above twenty degrees. Please, come." Prince Gustavus led Mr Beeman to a large black limousine, which was preceded and followed by armored vehicles of the Household Guard. The small convoy sped off onto one of Fort William's highways, on a lane that had been blocked to regular traffic to allow for swift movement to the Imperial Palace. The Prime Minister pointed out a number of landmarks as they drove to the center of the city:

"You will be staying as the personal guest of His Majesty at Orange Imperial Palace. You have an audience with the Emperor tomorrow and after that, we will discuss diplomatic details. I will take you to see the Emperor at 11:00 in the morning and then we shall have lunch together."

Mengistu Haile Beeman was astounded by the Empire. Everything seemed so much cleaner... better... nicer... While Azban largely reflected the same, it was not. The tallest building was the one his company had its headquarters in. The countryside of Gaduridos was also another story. This country, it seemed alien. The culture was very royal and ornate. Beeman also felt Gaduridos was a lot more natural and down to earth. Luthori seemed very hustle and bustle with buildings that graced the sky.

"Thank you Prince," the Corporate Militarist Chairman responded as the young royal explained everything, "I look forward to speaking with my friend, Lord Carheim again as well, not that I do not care to see the Emperor," Beeman finished with a chuckle.

There was a distinct difference in how the two talked. While one spoke with a clear English and Luthori accent, the black leader spoke more slowly while pronouncing the words a bit differently... It was how those who were Vintalli spoke.

Beeman enjoyed the pomp and circumstance as it was the same way he conducted his business. He was just impressed at the sights. Almost as if he'd been transported to another world...

OOC:
Just a clarification - Gaduridos has 4 primary cultures/identities -> Gaduri [White descendants of Old Eastern Country origins from colonial times primarily in Salnaeta/Pernessia. Can have varying Spanish, French, English, Italian, Russian influence/subculture etc.], Gaduridos [Spanish/Native/African mixed descendants of Old Eastern Country origins of the same culture from colonial times primarily in Marligantos. Can have French, English, italian influence/subculture etc.], Vintalli [black descendants of slaves imported to Gaduridos with native mix primarily in Vintalli. Can have French/English influence/subculture etc.], and Gaduridosi [these are the people from Pontesi that ruled the country during the IETC monarchy and have Pontesi culture]

Note: Beeman is Vintalli and hence reflects real world African culture/speech patterns, etc. If you're not sure what I mean by speech patterns, watch Hotel Rwanda, Invictus, etc.

If you have any questions about Gaduridos culture, let me know.

Oh, and yeah, Gaduridos is the nation name but is also a primary culture as explained above... it can be used to describe the culture or the entire country/people...

Fort William, Orange

After a half hour high speed drive to the palace district, the Gaduridan presidential convoy was approcahing the residence of the Emperor. Fort Williams' dozens of larhe, high speed highways kept congestion low and traffic fluid. The convoy was stopped several times by both Imperial Guards dressed in flamboyant ceremonial outfits and sinister, black armor clad members of the Imperial Office of Domestic Security, the all powerful Imperial secret police. The Imperial palace featured an enormous amount of mostly unseen defenses and featured, like many a Luthorian building, a huge underground bunker complex meant to withstand multiple nuclear strikes and stocked with enough provisions to last several years. Luthorian paranoia had reached an all time high during the days of Nova Terra when every citizen was routinely drilled on what to do in the case of a nuclear attack. For now it had calmed down, a bit.

Finally, President Beeman was led into the palace itself. The interior melded the Neo-Gothic style with the most modern technology and was ostentatious and absolutely stunning to behold. The Emperors of Luthori had been for centuries and to this day still are the richest men in the Empire thanks to various extremely lucrative business practices. Each Emperor since William of Orange has upgraded, embellished and altogether improved Orange Palace. At the present time of George III, the greatest artists of the entire world had made the Palace into an object of absolute and complete luxury. The outfits of individual servants, and there were thousands of them, probably cost upwards of £50*. Mr Beeman was led to the suite he would occupy during his visit by several of these many servants. The Prime Minister informed him that he would be dining with the Lord Carheim and bade him goodnight. At 7 PM, Mr Beeman was taken to a grand dining hall where the Lord Carheim was waiting for him:

"Ah, President Beeman, I am so glad to see you again, and in our Homeland, please sit."

OOC: *£50 is approximately equal to USD 1000. Also, thanks for the clarification. In an interesting contrast, Luthori is extremely homogeneous and a huge majority of the population is white and ethnically Luthorian (ie: German/English/Anglo-Saxon-ish).

Chairman Beeman was once again amazed at the splendor and oppulence of Luthori.

"I see you have taken well to secure your country," remarked the Gaduridos Head of State.

<<Inside suite, 6:30 PM>>

"What do you think?" Beeman asked one of his bodyguards.

"I think I want to be a Luthori," the guard said before breaking into a smile. The Chairman and the group laughed.

It was true, Gaduridos was no where as rich as Luthori and Beeman certainly had never been inside a place as fancy as this.

<<Dinner, 7 PM>>

Seeing a familiar face, Chairman Beeman sat close to Lord Carheim.

"Lord Carheim, it is good to see you again! Also, I am now Chairman of the Provisional Military Administrative Council. We have abolished the title of President," informed Beeman.

The dining hall was equally splendid. Beeman's mouth was already watering for what was certainly to be an equally rich feast.

I figured as much hence why I felt the need to explain our national makeup a bit ;)

"My apologies Mr Chairman, I congratulate you on your new appointment."

The Hexlon CEO and the Chairman made casual talk during the five course dinner, as a wide variety of Luthorian delicacies were served to them, as well as the best of Aldurian wine, smuggled out of the country still considered in rebellion by the Empire. As the meal drew to a close, both men moved to a more comfortable lounge. It was also a ground room, with beautiful paintings by the classical artists on the wall, an impressive bearskin on the floor and a roaring fireplace. The two men sat down on plump chairs as servants offered them cognac and expensive Gaduridan cigars, it was time to discuss business.

"I hope the meal was to your liking Mr Chairman. I must say your country produces the very best cigars! I see that Gaduridos has placed a blockade on the ships of the Sekowan rebels. You may or may not know that His Majesty considers His cousin, Emperor Kenji, as the only legitimate ruler of Sekowo. For that reason Luthori applauds your actions. Furthermore, as we have mentioned previously, we would be interesting in signing an agreement, whereas the Imperial Navy would escort your trade ships in return for naval bases on Vintalli, which is strategically located. The sea trade lanes that the Luthorian merchant navy use have been patrolled by our Navy for centuries, so they are almost never attacked, however, pirates and other rabble, like the Sekowan madmen remain a nuissance and even a threat in other parts of the world. Having Gaduridan trade vessels escorted by for example a Geharon Class Battlecruiser, the largest such ship currently in service anywhere in the world, would surrely dissuade anyone from hampering your trade. This maybe even give the Lord High Constable an excuse to reintegrate a frigate class in our navy because in reality, we do not need the destroyers we currently use for simple escort duty. Most pirates will actually turn away at the sign of a mere patrol boat, nevertheless, best to be safe. Of course, a non aggression and free trade agreement would also be natural. What do you think Mr Chairman?"

OOC: * I know technically the blockade hasnt started yet. However, for purposes of practicality, would you mind accepting this small suspension of disbelief?

Beeman lit a cigar. It was a coastal brand.

"No apologies required. Many things have changed in Gaduridos. I see one of them you have noticed. We are not blockaded Sekowo... rather, performing security operations in the Straights of Gaduridos to prevent terrorism or people we would rather not be on the water. Honestly Lord Carheim, Sekowo is quite a mess and we must ensure that terrorism does not gain a stronghold there."

Beeman paused to take a sip of wine.

"I am sure that your vessels will be welcome to escort our ships. As for the naval bases in Vintalli... perhaps we can arrange for your forces to be stationed at our bases? Our people would be very concerned if a crown owned the land once again... Even the IETC still causes unfortunate sentiments among my people."

OOC: Very very very very distant relative, but his father was in the same massive Rothingren-Traugott Imperial Family. Techincally, there is no family in this game, monarch wise, that is not related to the others in some form or another.

Lord Carheim took sip of cognac and answered:

"I understand the very delicate nature of monarchism in your country as well as the fact that your people may frown upon an Imperial base in Vintalli. Since that is not possible, do you think it would be possible for the Empire to lease the base from Gaduridos for an undetermined period of time, with the understanding that if either one of our countries withdraws from this future treaty, Gaduridos will not be obliged to continue the lease and that similarly, the Imperial Navy will no longer protect Gaduridan trade ships?"
