The Luthorians started eating immediately. The food was delicious, rich in flavors and plentiful. The Earl Laap was the one to answer Emperor Huifu. Laap was one to often circumvent pomp, ceremony and other graces and to go directly to the meat of the subject. In many ways, his bluntness complemented the Emperor's attitude, which was the exact opposite.

"Your Majesty, I understand that your attempts at offering compromises and making arrangements with the dignitaries of Clan Deng have been so far unsuccessful and that the members of that Clan seem to purposefully ignore your proposals. This must be very frustrating. Forgive me for speaking crudely, but in the sad event that negotiations crumble do you believe strongly that civil war will occur? Furthermore, if that is the case, and I address this also to your ministers, do you believe that Clan Deng and Clan Liu are evenly matched? No doubt your warriors' bravery is exemplary but it is possible, even probable that the International Monarchist League will not stand idly by if Indrala is engulfed in civil war. His Majesty Emperor Gustavus admires your efforts at seeking peace and compromise with Clan Deng and will most certainly not hold that against you."

(OOC: Again, sorry for it taking this long for me to post on this thread. I feel terrible.)

Slowly but surely, the Indralans finished their meal, quite a bit later than the Luthorians. Hans valued nearly everything and desired to savor every bite of food, as there were many in the world who had none. What the Luthorians had to say next shocked the Emperor and his advisors, but in a good way.

"Your Lordship, We do believe that a civil war will occur if Indrala cannot be united peacefully. Everything breaks apart eventually, as everything comes together eventually. If peace cannot unite Indrala then violence will, especially if the radical Zen Socialists from Northern and Central Dovani decide to spring up."

Even though the Emperor desired to answer the Earl's next question, he thought it best to leave it to his ministers. He did not desire to appear as the "absolute" monarch that he desired to be.

"As the Grand Commandant and Minister of Defence of Indrala, I must say that the North and the South are evenly matched. While the North may have more industry and people, most of the farms and culture of Indrala reside in the South. An army can not march on an empty stomach, nor can a force willingly destroy their heritage. If a civil war does occur, we would desire help from the International Monarchist League, which is part of the reason His Imperial Majesty invited you all here. Since your nation is a member of the leadership and since His Imperial and Most Excellent Majesty, the Emperor Gustavus, is the de-facto head of the IML, we would all like to know if you would be willing to help us in the future."
