On meeting the two Presidents exchanged greetings and token gifts. President Clarke then addressed the assembled media,

Ladies and Gentlemen, President Mori,

It is my pleasure to host you this week in Solentia. The Solentian people know that we have no greater friends in Terra than the Dranish. It is my hope that over these next few days you will see the best that our nation has to offer, and that the strong ties we already enjoy will be further strengthened. In all my years I genuinely cannot remember there being such genuine excitement in Solentia at a political visit. I know that my Grandfather, the late Tobias Clarke would have cherished this moment, and I dedicate this visit to his memory. Sosuke... I warmly welcome you to the Republic of Solentia'

The itinerary for the Presidential visit is as follows:

Private meetings between the Presidents and their families

    State Banquet

Tour of Solentia - the National Gallery of Solentia (Halion), Cathedral Square (Fuwan - Ancestral home of the Clarkes and final resting place of the late Tobias Clarke) Thespiae (Shinatawa - Proposed site of the 'Gay Free State' of Solentia to mark the 1000th Anniversary Celebrations of the Federal Republic)

Dranian President Sosuke Mori (GNP) and his entourage have arrived in Dranland following an invitation of Solentian President William Clarke. Alongside the President and his wife, the Dranian delegation included former Prime Minister Marina LeCoultre and acting Prime Minister Herbert Woolridge. After being welcomed enthusiastically by the Solentian people who had gathered in the streets to cheer upon him and President Clarke, he delivered a first address to the press in a press conference at the Presidential Palace:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, People of Solentia, President Clarke:
The stunning festive atmosphere in the streets I have just experienced on our way to the Presidential Palace once more proves that the ties between Dranland and Solentia go beyond mere bilateral cooperation or a the long-standing partnership of the Dranish and Solentian political parties- indeed, our frienship is cherished and valued by the people of both nations. President Clarke has already referred to the achievements of his grandfather, Sir Tobias Clarke, who was the driving force behind our nations' partnership in its early stages, and incessantly pointed out that it is a partnership in the spirit of liberty and democracy, which we believe to be universal values and not just political catchphrases. The aim of this visit, in my opinion, is to reinforce the message that the Dranish-Solentian friendship was founded upon: Standing firm in our joint commitment to our utmost goal of freedom for everyone."

Marshall and Morrison Attend State Banquet

Popular Party Leader and Foreign Affairs Spokesman Tom Marshall and new Deputy Leader John Morrison have attended the state banquet in Solentia at the kind invitation of Solentia. Mr Marshall said he was determined to build on Dranland's strong relationship with Solentia. " The Popular Party believes in a very strong relationship with Dranland" he said. Referring to the Popular Party's problematic stance over Solentia under former Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Gillian Clarke, he said " Never again will the Popular Party behave in a way that does not befit our great pat friend and ally, Solentia".

Grand Tour of Solentia

The Nation Gallery, Halion

Today President William Clarke escorted the visiting Dranish leader, President Sosuke Mori on a tour of the nation. The pair were joined in the capital at the National Gallery by Hannah Jackson, Senate Warden, former Culture Minister and Head of the International Movement for the Arts. Ms Jackson is tipped as a future Presidential candidate for the Liberals which goes to show the importance of the Arts in modern Solentia cannot be overstated.

Ms Jackson guided the leaders around the gallery offering expert insight into the works. As the group entered the Great Hall she gave way to President Clarke who addressed the assembled media and his visitors,

Ladies and Gentlemen, As you will know Solentia is a world leader in the field of the contemporary arts. As such I believe it is only fitting that we offer this gift to President Mori and the Dranish people. Maxmillion Davids is one of the finest artists Solentia has known. His innovative work has gained critical acclaim across terra. The piece is a fine example of the captivating work that Max created. I give you 'Peace...'

The work shows a dove in a formaldehyde solution and draws on the typical Davids themes of life, death, and attempts to navigate the balance between the two

President Mori was next escorted to Fuwan State the liberal heartland of Solentia and birth place of the nations 'liberal settlement'. The group were received by Madeleine Clarke, daughter of the late Sir Tobias Clarke and mother of the current Solentian leader. Ms Clarke hosted a private reception for family insiders and treated her guests to High Tea, served in the typical Clarke manor.

Following this the group moved across the square to the Spiritualised Orthodox Anglican Cathedral of Mesapontum, final resting place of Sir Tobias. They were greeted by Bishop Henry Mills. Time here was set aside for respects to be paid to the former Solentian leader. The proceedings were brought to a close with a short service by Bishop Mills who read prayers of remembrance.

Thespae, Shinatawa, proposed site of the independent gay 'Free City State' to celebrate the coming 1000th anniversary of the Federal Republic
After the sombre scenes in the afternoon the two leaders travelled across the nation to the coastal city of Thespae. The Liberals propose the city to be an independent Free City State, which promotes and encourages gay lifestyle as the norm. Should the plan be successful it is hoped that Thespae will become a major tourist destination and the undisputed gay capital of terra. Liberal Senators Brian McCough and Lydia Scharlotte are responsible for guiding the plans through the Senate. The pair joined President Mori in the 'Ice Bar' for cocktails and dinner to explain and discuss the plans with him.

After dinner in the early hours of the morning, on his return to the capital, President William Clarke made a short statement to the press,

I do hope that President Mori has a good impression of Solentia from what I have shown him today. 'Are there cultural differences between our nations?' - yes, most certainly, but I know that we can appreciate and learn from each other.
