King Haejo landing in Tian'an, Indrala

Against the predictions of the Ryeo Family, over the course of the past four years they have managed to revive the Baekgu bloodline in Dranland and have declared Ryeo Haesong King of the Kyo. There were doubts in the family any of this could be accomplished within the decade, but fate proved otherwise. Ryeo Haesong, royally titled as Haejo, has increasing support among the Kyo of Dranland and even has the backing from members of major political parties like the Kyo Defense Force and Rally for the Republic.

And the new Kyo monarchy's recognition has even expanded beyond domestic borders, gaining the support of the Great Empire of Indrala and the Holy Emperor Zhuquan. Once more, the Kyo people are becoming a noticeable part of the global Gao-Showa community. Seeking to further strengthen the Kyo and their relations with Gao-Showa of Terra, King Haejo visits Indrala to meet with the Holy Emperor and to observe the successes of the Minzhu Dynasty.

A little before noon the jet carrying Haejo, his wife, and the Crown Prince Taehyun landed at Tian'an's international airport. The Ryeo Family was greeted by Indralan officials before being escorted to the Heavenly Palace for a press event and photo op. Accompanying the Ryeos was also an ancient Kyo sculpture to be presented to the Holy Emperor as a gift.

King Haejo hopes to see the beginning of a new age in Gao-Showan relations in Dovani and in the wider world.

In a calculated snub, protesters from the Dranish Communist League have turned their backs to King Ryeo as his chauffeur-driven limousine drove him into Gongmangdo-Comares Airport as he began his scheduled visit to Indrala. DCL General Secretary Leticia Saldanas, who was present at the protest, said:

We are here to send out a clear message that we do not recognise this so-called King and do not want him going around pretending to be our monarch. We also demand to know how much this trip is costing, and who is paying for it. The money wasted on this could be far better spend on schools and hospitals. We also want to know why our so-called King is visiting a country whose government is openly hostile to democracy in Dranland and is try to foist feudal systems of government upon us. What is happening here is that the capitalist elite in Dranland and the capitalist elite in Indrala are ganging up together and trying to work out how they can oppress and exploit the Dranish people even more than they are already. And their latest tactic is to soften us up for dictatorship by trying to revive popularity for the archaic institution of monarchy.

20 October 3503

Members of the Indralan and international press corps gathered in front of a stage built near the Heavenly Palace, the Gate of the Supremacy of Virtue standing in the background. The important members of the Imperial Clan, the entire Imperial Court, and significant members of the nobility were dressed in traditional costume, awaiting the arrival of King Haejo and Holy Emperor Zhuquan to arrive.

After a few moments of waiting, traditional Indralan and Kyo music began to play, complementing each other on the stylistic differences between largely the same instruments. As the music played, a limousine pulled out of the Heavenly Palace and made its way to the back of the crowd, allowing the two royals to exit the vehicle and walk down a long aisle leading to the stage. Like the individuals on stage, both King Haejo and Emperor Zhuquan were dressed in Kyo and Indralan traditional court attire. Once the two made it to the stage, an exchanging of gifts took place, with Holy Emperor Zhuquan receiving a beautiful state from the ancient Kyo Kingdom and with King Haejo receiving the Holy Empress's crown jewels and regalia that she brought from Dranland to Indrala as the last Baekgu princess, as well as an ornate jade seal, topped with a phoenix and with an Indralan inscription on the bottom. Shortly thereafter, the Holy Emperor turned toward the lectern and began to speak.

Today brings the dynasties of the Indralan and Kyo peoples together. We share a joint history and, for some of us, even joint blood. Every Indralan Imperial Clan has been sympathetic to the Kyo monarchs in Dranland. We have even called for a triumvirate of monarchs in Dranland consisting of a monarch from each major ethnic group. Alas, there is a lack of respect for traditional culture and society in Dranland, especially at the present, but we must thank the government of Dranland for allowing cultural titles to exist. These are far better than none at all. For that, I commend the Dranish government. As much as we would like to get closer to Dranland, today is a time for the Gao-Showan peoples to rejoice in unity. His Majesty King Haejo of the Kyo has graciously traveled from Dranland to Indrala. We welcome him to Indrala and the world stage and commend him for his resolute defense and practice of traditional Kyo culture. In thanks, we bestow upon him the title "Duke of Ryeo", along with the various courtesy titles of Marquis, Count, Viscount, and Baron. His Majesty shall be able to use the styles of "Grace" and "Lord". May these titles never die.

Many in the press corps began to applaud, while others from political party newspapers that disagreed with whatever political implications they saw left. The Holy Emperor left the lectern, awaiting a speech from King Haejo himself, the new Duke of Ryeo.

Elsewhere in the capital, a few peaceful protests were taking place, mostly by the Cheng Daenists who still ascribed to the radically nationalist Cheng Daenism. Pictures of the Tengyuan Emperor and the Cheng Daenist Patriarch were held, calling for the overthrow of democracy and the installation of a Chen Daenist utopian government run by monks. These were largely ignored by an overwhelming majority of Indralans, as they see Cheng Daenism as the bane of Indralan society.

Applause continued as Holy Emperor Zhuquan left the lectern, greeting King Haejo to the center of the podium. Looking out upon the observers, the King of the Kyo began his speech.

The 36th Century is already showing to be a new age for Dovani and for the Gao-Showa of the world. Politically, there have been divisions among the nations of Dovani; but in engagements like those between the Kyo and Indralan peoples, we show that we can overcome the political divisions and bring unity to our diverse continent. It is entities like the renewed Kyo monarchy and the monarchy of Indrala which serve as vessels to transcend political boundaries and accelerate the development of a prosperous and harmonious Dovani. And it is also the sharing of culture, through such means as art, music, or tradition, that also enhances the diversity and brings us closer to a prosperous and harmonious Dovani. I hope to see greater cooperation between the Kyo and Indralan people, and even more broadly, the Dranish and the Indralan people. I thank the Holy Emperor for his efforts towards Gao-Showan unity and I thank him for his aid towards the empowerment of the Kyo culture. May the friendship of the Kyo and Indralan people last an eternity.

Concluding his speech, King Haejo left the podium at the applause of the observers.

Back in King Haejo's home-nation of Dranland, thousands from the Opposition continued to protest against his family and the Kyo monarchy. Following the television coverage of the Tian'an speeches, leftist leaders quickly took to the media expressing their disgust at King Haejo, "the Indralan puppet." They made their accusations of fascism and parroted conspiracies about the monarchies seeking to destroy Dranish democracy. Meanwhile, for everyone else in the nation, life went on as normal, and the political demagoguery was of little concern.
