OOC Source: Russian Foreign MinistryCahtice: Deltaria does not house a major Aurorian believing populace within its borders. Only around 2 million Deltarians adhere to the Aurorian Patriarchal Church. Despite this it has become abundently clear that Deltaria, with its newfound role on the global stage, involves itself with anything that may cause instability on either the continent of Majatra or the globe. A
recent situation surrounding the APC developed itself in Selucia. This situation, which directly called into question the holy principles on which any church is build, does not only threaten the sacrity of the APC but also that of the TPC. The Terran Patriarchal Church is the most prevelant church in Deltaria and the
Deltarian Holy Lands are seen as the main holy site for the TPC and its followers. While several differences between the APC and TPC exist many of their traditions and ways of doing things are similar. The KDU itself, the ruling party of Deltaria, is Hosian in nature and several prominent figures in the party already expressed their outrage to what they call a "destruction of Hosianism in Selucia".
The
Deltarian government does however understand the difficult situation it finds itself in. For centuries there has been a unwritten rule that seperate churches do not challenge eachother, under any circumstance. The new KDU government adhered to this principle, with several laws that forbid TPC clergymen from involving themselves in the bussiness of other churches. But with the direct attack on Hosianism it isnt only party members that feel uncomfortable.
Deltarian leader Vladislav Koleno himself has stated he sees the developments in Selucia as, "Counterproductive and dangerous" and its fallout has already been slowly spilling to other nations in the region. To calm the situation down the
Deltarian government has reportedly looked at several options. One of which would be a direct dialogue with the Selucian government and try to ammend their policies to stop the spread of anti hosian ideals. Such a approach would however harm the non interfference strategy of past decades and could set a dangerous precedent for future APC intervention into the TPC. Another option was containment, using
Deltarian influence to contain the spread of these ideals and changes in other countries. Koleno believed this to be the right strategy and told the Foreign Minister Holub to start working.
This strategy led Deltaria to Malivia, where the anti-hosian sentements are running higher then in other countries. Holub, now familiar with
Deltarian power over Malivia, reportedly approached the Malivian ambassador to Deltaria. The Imperial Directorate of Intelligence, which has a large known presence in Malivia, already brieved the government on possible government encouragement of anti hosian protests in Malivia according to sources within the Foreign Ministry. It is unclear what he told the ambassador but some speculate Deltaria has now pressured Malivia into stopping its anti-hosian policies, threatening to cut all or a significant portion of economic aid to Malivia. If this indeed did happen it worked. As reports from early in the morning state that some protestors are already leaving APC property and sites and the Malivian government has resumed talks with APC clergymen to find a solution to the growing unrest.
Another step will likely be further containment in other parts of the globe. With the recent death of the Arch-patriarch it is expected that a fierce competition between the old and the new will develop itself. Deltaria is already working behind the scenes to limit the damage of such a tense situation. Koleno and his government have repeatedly made it clear that the unrest created by this schism in the APC could be dangerous for Regional stability and thus the
Deltarian economy, which is still recovering from its crisis and is dependent on a stable situation for the coming years.
