Mass demonstrations in Turjakistan against the Luthorians

Abujmals in Turjakistan have led mass demonstration of Turjaks against Luthorian rule in the hopes of restoring their influence and confidence from the crown in their family.

The mass demonstration started in Oguhzitan, Bogendo on the first week of this month by disgruntled exploited Turjak entrepreneurs. The mass demonstrations eventually became a violent revolt which quickly gained momentum when the Abujmals gave their support. This resulted in a widespread mass demonstration from all sections of society throughout Turjak cities this week. Abujmals are reported to be cooperating with Wantuni and the Jakanian government.

The ever increasing Luthorian presence in Jakania and dominance over much of its economy and administration and its exploitative nature has led many Turjaks, who are most affected by it,to call for independence from Luthori rule.

The Jakanian government in a press conference said that they are trying their very best to control the situation in the name of the Luthori Empire. However, no movements have been made by the Jakanian military, but the bulk Luthorian soldiers in Jakania have been sent to bring stability to Turjakistan. The capital city and its port is currently occupied by less than 9,000 Luthorian soldiers and strange activities have been reported near Luthorian ships and Luthorian military buildings of armed civilians building barricades. However, the government of Jakania has said that this is to protect Luthorian military personnels.

Prince-Regent Mestef Abujmal dies at the age of 103, Sultan Temujin I consolidates his power after 67 years of regency

The Great Prince-Regent Mestef Abujmal has died at the of 103. Sultan Temujin I has ordered a state mourning immediately after hearing the death of the beloved Prince-Regent. Sultan Temujin I also made a decree for important officials, who were close to the Prince-Regent, to be immediately dismissed from their position. This has provoked outrage amongst prominent politicians who were close to the Prince-Regent. Those who displayed their outrage publicly were immediately taken away and imprisoned in an undisclosed maximum security prison.

Less than 24 hours of the Prince-Regent's death, Sultan Temujin I has moved quickly to consolidate his power by abolishing key offices established by the late Prince-Regent that sought to re-establish constitutional monarchy. The Sultan has also mobilised Luthori units stationed in Wakanda to strengthen the security of the Phoenix Palace.

Foreign Minister Ian Blackwood Proposes MSCA

Sonhata; Foreign Minister Ian Blackwood today proposed a revolutionary Treaty which he hopes will unite the continent of Majatra under a single currency. The Majatran Single Currency Argreement (MSCA) will see the formation of a Majatran Central Bank, which will use the currency 'Majatran Dollar' [MAJD].

Speaking to reporters, and alongside the rest of the Cabinet, Mr. Blackwood said the following:

I have proposed this Treaty as a means to unify this Continent under a single banner. We already have the Majatran Union and this is the next logical step in the enlargement of that organisation. I truly and firmly believe that this could lead to a complete halt of hostilities between Nations who will sign up to the Agreement. Essentially; harming another Nations economy will harm your own. It is time for Majatra to head into the next century with a bold step, and this is that step. I will be writing to my counterparts throughout the Continent in order to ask for their support. Thank you.

Jakania Ratifies The MSCA!

United Jakania has become the first Nation to sign up to the Majatran Single Currency Agreement. The Treaty; as proposed by the UJDPs Finance Minister, Ian Blackwood, seeks to have all sixteen Nations on the continent convert to a single currency - the Majatran Dollar.

Widely seen as a further move towards Pan-Majatranism; Mr Blackwood has written to counterparts throughout the Continent in order to garner support for the move. The Central Majatran Union of Kalopia-Wantuni are due to ratify the Agreement within the next year, with the Republic of Barmenia expected to follow suit shortly after. Reports have stated the several Nations have outright criticised the proposal; but Mr. Blackwood has stated the he will keep arguing the benefits of such a treaty.

Riot police clashing with religious protesters

To many observers it was only a matter of time before tensions burst in the country and ground zero appears to be here in Masuw. In response to the proposed secularization of the government as put forward by the National Democrats, protests have broken out in the capital which in some sectors have turned into riots. National Police forces have clashed with protesters throughout the city as they launched large scale marches downtown and even moving in on the government district.
Most of the religious protesters are apart of the Israi religious group, which is most closely associated with the majority Majatran ethnic group in Jakania. Fiery speakers spoke about the new government dominated by "foreigners," and :"devilish white men" which is a reference for the now large minorities of Luthorieans and Augustans who moved in to take advantage of the old colonial government. They also stated that true popular rule as being denied in order to keep the "righteous believers and people of Jakania" from being in power and following the true path of God.
Government security forces, wasted no time in moving key units into positions all over the city, and across the country. Over 3,000 special troops in the Jakanian State Police were deployed to control the riots and protests in Masuw, while rapid reaction units from the Jakanian Security Force established checkpoints across the city and at its entrances while the Tribal Police began conducting security patrols in the countryside to combat external support for the protesters. Even units from the Presidential Guards moved to secure key public buildings, provide personal security to important government officials, and protect the Government District from threat of violence.
The massive security response represents a key test as the government moves to consolidate power and extend its territorial control over the country. In a strong first test, the government mobilized thousands of security and police personal across the country and managed, superficially at least a coordinated national response to protests and civil disturbances. However, the government was far from truly tested here and deficiencies clearly showed. Members of the professional paramilitary Jakanian Security Force, are little better and equipped than local militamen, most being armed with AK's and riding around in the back of poorly marked pick-up trucks. Sources at the Interior Ministry said that had the protests not been quashed so quickly, it would've taken hours to call even a fraction of the reserves needed up and that in areas where protesting turned to riots, police almost ran out of tear gas and could've had to resort to lethal crowd control options.

Operation: Northern Awakening

Today the provision government of Jakania announced that the Jakanian Majatran Armed Forces and state sponsored militia groups would be taking part in a major push to remove both domestic and foreign terrorist organizations. President Nassaar al-Sadhi appeared on state television for the first time since holding a constitutional general assembly which elected to remove the al-Razmid Caliph. al-Sadhi, a descendant of Basqir al-Sadhi from Kafuristan announced that the operation would be the first of many.

Unified Press (UP) reports that the Jakanian military and state sponsored militias would be underneath the personal command of the President who's serves as Commander in Chief of the military. The rag-tag Jakanian military and well financed Israist militias and Baathist militias will make up the majority of the fighting force. Intelligence reports have surfaced that the President intends to purge all enemies of the Jakanian nation as well as the Majatran people.

Prominent Israist display prominent role in new government.

With Operation: Northern Awakening taking place, the new Jakanian government has shown its true face. Several leading figures of the General Military Council of Jakania have revealed themselves to have leadership roles in the General Command of the Armed Forces, Resistance and Liberation in Jakania and Israic Supreme Council of Jakania. These two groups are heavily Israist groups that have ties to a religious Baathist sect. Karin Aziz, the Prime Minister was announced as the Deputy Commander of the General Command of the Armed Forces, Resistance and Liberation in Jakania. Munjid Ismail (Minister of Finance) and Abdur Raheem Popal (Minister of Justice) were announced as members of the Supreme Council in the Israic Supreme Council of Jakania.

United Press (UP) commentators have speculated that Jakania might be taking a hard turn to an Ahmadist governed state. Little is currently known about the offensive going on in the north as reporters, even those tightly associated with the regime have been barred from entering the north of the country. When asked, President Nassaar Qadir al-Sadhi stated that "The fighting is far too brutal for our virtuous people."

Israic Front forms, Operation: Northern Awakening sees some light.

The United Press (UP) has announced that the Foreign Ministry of Jakania released a world-wide press statement that shows that the sometimes reclusive state has become an Ahmadi Republic with former President, now Supreme Leader, Allamah Nassaar Qadir al-Sadh as its leader. Little information is known about the outline of the new state but it is believed that it is based around Israism, the largest branch of Ahmadism and considered to be the more radical of the several branches of Ahmadism. The former group known as the General Military Councils has reformed into the Israic Front Party.

Inside sources have said that Operation: Northern Awakening has been an ethnic cleansing campaign against the native Turjaks located in the Northern and Eastern portion of the country. The operation, undertaken by the underfunded and largely militia-based Jakanian Majatran Army is seen as being moderately successful due to the large number of Majatrans in the military.

Razamids 'Return' To Jakania

It is now more than three centuries since the Razamid Caliphate subjugated the Sultanate of Jakania. The Wantuni branch of the illustrious clan has decided to try its hand at conquest. Following what Prince Umar, the head of the Wantuni Razamas called 'persistent and distressing appeals for intervention by honored Beys and Pashas', the Razamids have invaded Jakania from Wantuni, crossing the border quickly. They faced only token resistance from a heavily demoralised border guard of a heavily demoralised nation, split into two - the Turjaks in the east and the Majatrans in the west. The country has not had a united government for nearly a decade and the two parts of the country are effectively separate states with much anarchy and lawlessness.


Razamid troops and equipment

The Razamid Army is estimated to be anywhere between 40 and 65,000 strong and consists of diverse groups all with an interest in subduing Jakania. The Razamid clan militia is no more than a third of the total force while a sizable part are mercenaries hired with the great oil wealth of the razamids, long preserved as they waited for an opportunity to assert themselves once again. Some sources claim that as many as 7,000 Chann Imperial Republican troops might be part of the Razamid Army, not surprising given the Razamid's Kafuri roots and close ties to the Chann rulers. The final important component of the Razamid Army are numerous Turjak collaborating Beys and Paasha who have brought their personal militias and volunteers. They are said to be as many as 12,000 Turjak militia groups.



The Razamid Army has made significant progress in the past two weeks since the invasion began, capturing many towns and cities in the eastern half of the Hufata Governorate. If progress continues at this pace, the Razamid might have control of the two Turjak governorates, Hufata and Bogendo by the middle of next year.
