Junta announces elections

After heavy losses sustained by the Junta forces and with the NUG receiving foreign expeditionary forces, the regime had introduced conscription in occupied territories in order to bolster the size of their forces. This decision was met with a series of protests and increased sabotage. While the protests were crushed violently just like the last wave of protests, the Junta appears to have recognised the unsustainable nature of their current regime as they have announced that the National Salvation Government will be holding elections soon.

Most of the details of the elections haven't been released yet but the formation of the National Renewal Alliance, a party consisting of the high ranking officers of the Junta, has been announced. It is expected that the other parties will be the KD and UKM-M members who reportedly defected to the Junta.

While a few are optimistic that this may be a step towards an eventual peace treaty between the two sides, most have expressed doubts that the election will be anything more than a sham to give their regime some legitimacy.

Defections from the Junta

It seems that the policy of conscription introduced by the Junta has backfired significantly as reports are coming in that a large number of conscripted soldiers sent to fight in the Junta's push to Keita have defected to the NUG.

The NUG has offered amnesty to any defecting soldiers who weren't involved in war crimes. At the same time, the Junta has announced the creation of Anti-Defection Squads consisting of loyal soldiers whose aim is to execute any soldiers attempting to defect to the NUG.

As the fighting in Jildrath continues without any significant progress, it seems likely that there will be more mass defections in the future.

Is the Junta crumbling on itself?

Shocking news came from Kundrati this morning, reports of the junta advancing in Keita before being violently stopped by the HRA, BHM, Likatonian expeditionary forces, and Loyalists. The resistance kicked out the junta out of the city before pushing them even more by crossing the DL. The city's western and northern districts were systematically destroyed and the city in general looked like a war film of a fictional modern-day siege - bodies being everywhere and very gruesome scenes inside and outside the city as a result of the Junta's bombardment of the city so bad that they cannot be placed into print.

Many soldiers on both sides have experienced major casualties - especially the Junta, which reportedly sent troops from the Kasaema sector to Keita to relieve the decimated units, though with supply hubs on their side sustaining major damage it is unknown if the Junta's offensive into Keita will last much longer.

Our reporters in Kasaema say that the HRA announced through the HPR: "After our glorious victory in Keita, we are starting a bombing campaign against the Junta in Kasaema" as a rain of rockets surgical fell on supply hubs and supply lines destroying them. We asked a soldier his reaction to the bombing: "It feels like Apocalypse, I need to be with my mom rather than witness this horror". It is unknown how many soldiers will participate if there were to be an counteroffensive from Peghonai.

As of the time of writing the Junta has begun to retreat from some of the Keita DL. It is reported that Junta soldiers near Galensk are being sent towards the front in Keita as well. Junta soldiers have also been defecting to the NUG en masse despite the actions of the "Anti-defection battalions" doing their best. Mass surrenders have also been reported in one case in the upper boroughs of Keita from the Junta soldiers - alongside two officers surrendering their entire battalions to the NUG after being promised amnesty if their units hadn't committed war crimes.

The President of Kundrati has stated that his units have begun advancing past the DL and are at this very moment "many miles from the Defence Line". He also warned that the Junta must surrender or "...hell will rain from the skies and nobody on your side will be safe when it comes." As we report, Navy ships and local Extean troops were spotted entering these Navy ships - it is unknown where the final destination is.

Unexpected news are coming from the State of Peghonai as the HRA announced through the HPR: "We announce the start of operation white rose and warn every civilian to hide into the newly built underground shelters". Reports of 18k soldiers for infantry, 960 armored vehicles, 540 artillery and 1,2k supply units have broken through the Junta's defense line in the north.

One of the HRA generals declared after the breakthrough in the DL: "Comrades, It's now or never to March toward Kasaema and liberate Kundrati." We noticed the use of surgical bombing, parachutist units and the air forces of the Loyalists and their allies to break the enemy's morale and easily breakthrough the unprepared junta. The Junta attempted to halt the advance however it has been reported that the Loyalist troops are halfway between Kasaema and Leuansk, a city east of the capital.

We also noticed the use of unorthodox psychological warfare by using loud and rock music to disturb the enemy's sleep and deprive them from it.

As of now the HRA and Loyalist offensive to ward the former capital of Kundrati took the enemy by surprise and let's hope that their momentum isn't broken.

BREAKING
Junta retreats from the south!

As the fighting ceases in Keita, with harsh urban warfare between Junta forces and NUG (along various foreign expeditionary forces), victory has been proclaimed in Keita for the NUG! As Junta forces have been forced to retreat due to international volunteers arriving, many expected both sides to lick their wounds after the harsh fighting but the proclamation of Operation White Rose has erased those beliefs as the NUG is continuing it's unrelenting push back to Kasaema before it's momentum dies down and the NUG gets bogged down. Whether the counteroffensive and the entire Operation as a whole can succeed but what's certain is the Junta has been hit hard from the Battle of Keita.

Is the Junta going to accept the peace offer?

Shocking news came from Kundrati as the HRA managed to continue it momentum and reach Kasaema, the HRA announced through the HPR: "We've almost finally encircled Kasaema, as an act of brotherhood and mercy, we ask the junta to unconditionally surrender and let us take Kasaema peaceful to avoid unnecessary bloodshed".

The HRA decided to send humanitarian supplies to Kasaema as a sign of mercy, they also allowed the creation of 2 humanitarian roads to let people freely escape the city.

Artillery units starting surgically bombing supply hubs in Kasaema and avoid hitting any civilian building.

NRA landslide victory in Junta organised elections. Accusations of fraud by the NUG.

Elections were recently held in the Junta controlled Kundrati territories as promised by the Junta. As many had predicted, the National Renewal Alliance, consisting of the Junta leaders, won a landslide victory with 70% of the votes. This has lead to the NUG throwing accusations of election fraud and a controlled opposition which the Junta has denied. It seems that despite the elections there will be little actual change despite what some had hoped.

The two opposition parties running in tbe elections were the Kundrati Democracy - National Salvation and Union of Kundrati Minorities - National Salvation, consisting of the members of KD and UKM-M who defected to the Junta.

The most surprising thing however was the leader of the UKM-NS, who was none other than Aurelio Igueta, founder of the UKM and brother of current UKM-M leader Andoni Igueta. Aurelio had been missing since the start of the war and many had thought that he might have failed to escape the Junta controlled territories and is in hiding. However it seems that he was in the custody of the Junta instead and wasn't executed like the other prominent UKM members due to collaborating with the National Salvation Government. The presence of such a prominent figure as a part of the NSG National Assembly's opposition has given at least some amount of legitimacy to the elections in the eyes of some people.

Andoni was quick to declare that he is certain that Aurelio was forced to become a part of the Junta's controlled opposition at gunpoint. He further requested the NUG not to give him the same treatment as the other NSG leaders after the war. This has already damaged the efforts to reunite UKM-M and UKM-S and it remains to be seen what other effects this may have.

BREAKING
Peace in Kundrati?

Kasaema has been encircled! The capital city of Kundrati, once famed for it's glory back in the pre-Delic times and former home of the Kundrati government, is now encircled by Loyalist forces. This comes after the Junta begun a mass retreat from their controlled lands - Jildrath is fully free from the Junta's wrath and the Celanians have a small strip of Junta left for them to fight over.

After the Encirclement of Kasaema, spokespersons from the Junta have confirmed what many thought was impossible: diplomatic talks for peace. While it's unknown when the talks will occur or if the NUG will accept them, it's clear the Kundrati Emergency is winding down. Whatever happens in the coming weeks will change Kundrati forever more.

It has also been announced that the Reconciliation Committee will be held in the destroyed city of Aethansk, alongside a potential "Reconciliation Concert" in the former capital.

BREAKING
THE JUNTA SURRENDERS

The Junta has finally surrendered. What many thought was impossible for Kundrati has finally come - peace has returned to Kundrati. Despite the ruined state of the country, mass changes are expected to come soon as a Reconstruction Committee is being prepared and various junta leaders have been arrested or imprisoned whilst awaiting a proper trial.

As Junta loyalists disarm and preparations are made for the RC, Kundrati will have a brighter future ahead.
