In Marea chooses its new candidate for Consul de Popularis: Tera Pisthis
The decision comes after the announcement of the previous Consul, Ethan Megalos, assuring that he will not be running another term for the position.
It has finally happened. The longest Consul the Popularis, Ethan Megalos, announced yesterday night his intention of leaving politics after this last term. He has been involved since he was 23 years old, and founded the party In Marea Possumus Facere (commonly known as In Marea) along with other members of the party. He was Head of State from 4100 to 4119, and then again in the 4123 elections, being in this position for 23 years. But everything comes to an end, and Ethan Megalos decided this was his time.
After talking with the General Assembly of his party and the Secretary, he released a press conference were he was clearly affected, as it could be seen in the moments he could not even talk.
The General Assembly, composed by 11 members, is the responsible of choosing the candidates for Consul de Popularis, so this morning they had their first meeting, where a name was the clearly winner. By 7 votes (Cato Gurges, Nova Helva, Xenia Harculae, Aquila Balbus, Lavinia Maro, Flora Labeo and Thitan Chroneus) against 2 (Percy Lacoonte and Caecilia Papirus) and 2 abstentions (Jason Papadopoulos and Kyrian Aethius Flavius), Tera Pisthis was elected as the new candidate for Consul de Popularis, in the elections that will take part in the 4127.
Tera Pisthis, 71, is a retired judge who lived under the Governments of the Factio Conservativas, and lead some of the protests against its right-wing politics. She was part of the Supreme Court until her retirement.
