After nearly two decades of consecutive leadership, Warren Platt (40 years old) leads one of Hutori's oldest and arguably oddest political parties. Since its inception in 4087 by Alfred Putnam, an insignificant gardener, the party's history is a mix of political controversies, under the radar initiatives (the party's paramilitary, the Hutorian Proletarian Guard, remains unchallenged, albeit unarmed) and ideological stagnation. The party's ideology remains one of its most controversial and strangest features. Being a self-described "syncretic totalitarian" party, the Bekenial has conducted an interview with Platt in order to refresh those who have forgotten the idiosyncrasies of the Proletarians' ideology:
Warren Platt wrote:We are a very unconventional party. We're sometimes called communists, and for the most part that's a fairly accurate description, but when it comes to comparing us to other communist parties, that is where we differ significantly. We support abortion, but oppose all forms of sexuality, especially the 'alternative' kinds. We believe you should abstain from recreational drugs. The state should remain as decentralized as possible, with maximum control given to local governments. We believe our nation must become a nation of highly independent and self-sustainable societies.
Locally speaking, we want total workers' control organized by self-managing workers' councils that represent a specific industry. We want those who commit murder, rape and other heinous crimes to be executed, albeit through the most peaceful means possible. We support science and reject religion and other superstitions. Those who want to die should be given the option of euthanasia. Those who refuse to contribute to society should be regarded as parasites and deported.
Surveillance must be all-pervasive to ensure society functions based on evidence, not witness testimonial and so that those that commit crimes are held accountable - society is protected. It is a moral imperative to refuse any desire to reproduce, bringing life into an existence capable of experiencing suffering of any kind is ultimately immoral and best prevented - sterilization mandatory. The individual does not continue to survive in their offspring, but rather ceases to exist entirely upon death, therefore reproduction is not a suitable method of individual survival - genes have no conscience.
Regardless of these beliefs, we believe the primary threat to society is that of pseudoscience, medical quackery of all kinds must be persecuted - eliminated. Superstition is a social cancer that usually begins in early age, religious indoctrination must be outlawed, especially if it is directed at the youth. That said, we are also against the movements to normalize gender-bending and other medically inaccurate lifestyles.
Our party attracts those on the far-left and those on the far-right, although more the former than the latter, all of our party members adhere to our ideology absolutely - we tolerate no deviation.
Platt reasserted his party's totalitarian nature when asked whether or not his part could be classified as "progressive" or "socially liberal":
Platt wrote:A fascist may support animal rights, but they still are a fascist. We may be predominantly far-left and hold some views some people regard as progressive, but make no mistake, we are at the core a totalitarian party that seeks to control every aspect of our adherents' lives, save for their thoughts, which is their only really true personal liberty. We are intolerant of internal deviation, strict, but are also very compassionate and peaceful. We may advocate for your death depending on your actions, but rest assured, we will end your life in the most peaceful way possible. Not even the most vile individual in existence deserves to suffer.
When asked how his party has survived through its mandatory celibacy practices of its members, Platt stated:
Platt wrote:Obviously this is because some selfish, instinctive person decided to get pregnant and give birth. We will exist for as long as their offspring come to their senses. When others stop reproducing or humanity degenerates to a point where instinct totally takes over, we will cease to exist.
Platt has stated that like his predecessors, he will also choose to be euthanized when he no longer can be "of use to society".
