Prime Minister on nation's involvement in International Affairs.
Prime Minister opts nation's withdrawal from Al'Badara and Pontesi on grounds of kindling peace.
Prime Minister Gilon Dienesman addresses the nation on its involvement in International Affairs.
12th March, 4318.
In an address before the nation, Prime Minister Gilon Dienesman announced that his government would be conducting a review of the nation's reckless involvement in international affairs. The move by Dienesman comes amid the government's realignment towards a partial isolationist-internationalist policy, in which the nation intends on backing the back-burner on some issues pertaining to international affairs. For the past decades the previous administration had placed the nation into a tight situation with respect to wiggle place in removing itself from its previous actions. Its direct involvement in the internal conflict in Al'Badara coupled with its indirect involvement in the situation in Kalopia and its reckless border incursions into Pontesi has created the impetus for the nation to be branded a hard-line, aggressive interventionist state by various nation-states and their respective governments. Recent voices (through demonstrations) have championed the cause of a possible withdrawal of the nation from its aggressive tendencies and a shift towards cooperation and true promotion of international peace.
As his government moves towards creating a renewed image for Beiteynu through withdrawing the nation for various flawed agreements and "dead treaties". He stated that apart from that, he had ordered the withdrawal of YDF (Yeudish Defence Forces) troops from their respective installations in Pontesi and Al'Badara effective immediately. He cited that if the nation were to move towards an era of progressiveness, it must wash its hands of its unwarranted, pseudo-imperialist mindset to affairs within the region.
It is this government's intention to withdraw forces from the nations of Al'Badara and Pontesi as we see it as a necessary step towards the development of our nation as a whole, as we turn in a new leaf, to usher ourselves into a renewed era.
Dienesman intends on travelling to the Kingdom of Vanuku and Barmenistan where he will speak with Prefect Jebr Banmek-Sntazed and President Henry bet Aws respectively on the premise of diplomatic re-engagement. With the two nations combined in a cultural, political and economic union, Dienesman believed that the two nations would be the best option to re-engage in the spectrum of diplomacy and trade. A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister announced that the Prime Minister intends on sending Foreign Minister Naftali Dreyfuss and Defence Minister Jariath Helfgott to the various majatran nations in a bid to re-engage in diplomatic dialogue. Several trips are expected to be planned for Indrala, Istalia, Pontesi and Zardugal, however this is yet to be confirmed as the prime minister states that he intends on remaining in the nation for some time to address its internal needs and implement the changes necessary so that the nation can move forward instead of backward.

Government to re-open border with Barmenistan.
Government to re-open national border with Barmenistan in attempt to reopen to region.
Although the border is to be re-opened, the YDF and Civil Guard will maintain a heavy presence in the border regions to maintain order.
12th March, 4318.
Prime Minister Gilon Dienesman announced before members of the Knesset and the media that the nation's border with Barmenistan would be re-opened in-order to facilitate the nation's initial attempt at re-engaging with the region and its neighbours posterior to decades of isolationism. The Am-Mekim border crossing had been closed after the previous government launched its initial homogeneous cleansing phase. The Office of the Prime Minister had permitted the entry of 60,000 Barmenians into the nation through to Am-Mekim crossing to either use the nation's services or apply for citizenship under the reforming state. A press release from the Prime Minister's office revealed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had been in the process of organising the transition with the YDF and Agafim (the state's domestic intelligence service).
The statement emphasised that relations between Beiteynu and Barmenistan can be traced back to the times of King Ezekiel and the Temple Bira. Commissioner of the Civil Guard, Dovid Gadi announced that the Civil Guard will be maintaining a heavy presence in the border regions (where the Barmenian citizens are expected to travel to) with the sole aim of maintaining order. He stated that although the government has allowed for the re-opening of the border in-order to re-engage with the nation, he warned that they also have government permission to close the border once more if it becomes clear the situation become unmanageable.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Naftali Dreyfuss announced his intention on visiting the nation in an attempt to re-engage in diplomatic relations with the nation after decades of silence. There has been some opposition to the opening of the border but this comes from the democratic conservatives who have been identified as the cause for the nation's demise. Other have questioned the government's move, suggesting that it would have been more beneficial to re-open the nation's border with Pontesi, however this was knocked down by Internal Affairs Minister Uzziah Hyamson who stated that for the government to re-open the nation's border with Pontesi, it would require more than 12,000 soldiers and officers to assist in maintaining order, assets which the state is not ready to utilise.
The border is expected to remain open until the governments in Yishelem and Varishehr decide on a common immigration policy. This is the first step for the nation in-order to break free of its chains of isolationism.

12th March, 4318.
It was announced earlier this morning that the Ministry of Defence would be a large-scale internal defence review. News came pertaining to this matter when Chief of Defence, Rav Aluf Mittai Segan addressed members of the media at Deronda Air Base. According to the recently appointed Defence Chief, the military had underwent a period of pure neglect and it was imperative that the government and the armed forces itself made an effort to improve its situation and status. Minister of Defence Jariath Helfgott and Rav Aluf Mittai Seganheld a joint meeting in the Defence Ministry where the following was said:
This nation has spent decades obtaining the reputation of being one the most powerful nations in the world. Due to fence-sitting by the armed forces due to neglect and improper leadership, this once mighty armed force has been on the verge of collapse. It is imperative that we re-assert ourselves into the global sphere and take back our place one the leadership board of the military and economic spectrum. As proposed the defence review is purely aimed at pinpointing the direction which we must take in the future when it pertains to the development of the armed forces.
The current defence budget of the Defence Ministry is 100 Billion Beiteynus, a major decrease as the government is currently focused on implementing the provisions of the Shameel-Stern Initiative and the National Heritage Fund. Minister Helfgott stated that although he recognises and understands the struggles of the current economic situation, in the future he is wishing to see an increase in the budget for defence. According to sources from the Defence Ministry, the review is expected to last for around a few months and would encompass reviews in all branches of the Armed Forces, from the Army to the Navy.

Government seeks to compensate apartheid victims.
Yeudish Government moves to compensate apartheid victims with 12 Billion Beiteynus contribution.
12th March, 4318.
The Government of the Yeudish Republic of Beiteynu announced the formation of a programme that will seek to compensate millions of victims who were abused, tortured, killed and subsequently removed from their home nation during the nation's period of stringent apartheid. Following the announcement of a reformation of the government's approach to international affairs and their intention to clean up Beiteynu's image, the programme had been launched to reach out to victims of the previous administration's decades of segregation, oppression and torture. Principal Comptroller of the fund, Simeon Eksandrjan (born to a Yeudish mother and a Pontesian father), stated that the fund will be considering the cases of about 12,000 abuse victims already known to the State, for claims of torture that date back to 3890.
We are aware that no sum of money could ever heal the scars of abuse and segregation, nonetheless this programme is aimed at reaching out either directly or indirectly to the victims of those who were subject to the most crude and oppressive forms of segregation, torture, mistreatment and expulsion. We hope to bring healing to the victims and wherever possible, assist in the healing process.
In the on-going corruption investigation launched by the incumbent government, various individuals had been accused of sexual abuse, murder and torture of individuals on the border regions. Many of the cases currently being investigated, those responsible for the actions have long died, however, the Ministry of Justice stated that it wanted to explore more into the heinous activities of the apartheid government. According to information from the Central Statistical Office, under the apartheid regime; 14 million Jelbeks (Pntek and Brmek), 5 million Luthorians, 4 million Majatrans, 2 million Selucians and 990,000 Kafurians, encompassing around 25.9 Million persons had been either dispatched, killed, tortured or expelled from their homes in Beiteynu at the hands of the apartheid regime.
With the expulsion of the various ethnic groups came the expulsion of the various religions which once made Beiteynu a vibrant and cultured nation. Chief Rabbi of Yishelem, Ezekiel Shoshimsh (the de facto, Principal Rabbi of Beiteynu), stated that the Yeudish community, will be contributing to the development of the fund. Rabbi Ezekiel supported the government's initial contribution of 12 billion Beiteynus to the fund and added that the Yeudish religious community will be adding around 500 million Beiteynus to that (hopefully).
