The Liberated Worker
People's Republic of Keymon Declared
December 10, 4768

General Secretary Micheli Romani

Workers of Keymon, Unite! Long since the establishment of the oppressive Catena monarchy, and long since before have we toiled under the oppression of feudal and capitalist lords. But no more, now we live free! Now Keymon will be brought under the rule of the Keymonite worker who has given his sweat, blood, and toil for the building of our island, and not under the rule of bourgeois royals who would soon send their own people to die than to allow another sit upon the throne of gold which they claim for themselves. While the arrogant capitalist monarchs fight over who gets to wear their crown, we free workers of Keymon will work to strengthen our domain and liberate our people. When the time comes, we will fight to bring liberation to our Keymonite brothers much in the same way the noble anarchist militants of Lodamun fight to liberate their nation from liberalism. I implore the conscious proletariat of Keymon to come and join the People's Republic of Keymon, which I hereby proclaim. Come and join us rather than fight as an enslaved lumpenproletariat of the Catena tyrants. Come join us workers of Keymon, and be free!

Section of the Declaration of Independence of the People's Republic of Keymon

In the midst of civil war between the forces of King Carlu and Queen Éva, a third and righteous force has taken up arms in this conflict of proletarian brothers. Declared by a group of radical members of the Partitu Laburista Democraticu that had broken ties with the party, and members of other radical socialist groups in Keymon, the People's Republic of Keymon has been declared, and currently occupies lands in the east of the island and in the Golden Coast and has begun locking down their occupied lands and taking up the task of administering their new state. The PRK is currently headed by a small council of communist intellectuals and politicians known as the Revolutionary Vanguard Council, which itself is headed by General Secretary Micheli Romani, an avowed socialist and former advocate for agricultural unions.

The People's Republic of Keymon is no doubt the most legitimate of the factions taking part in the civil war, as it is the only faction which accurately claims to represent the interests of the common people of Keymon rather than those few with the surname of Catena, and thus one of the first actions of the people's government has been to proclaim the PRK as the legitimate and true Keymonite government and representative of the Keymonite people on the world stage, and has sent a delegate to the World Congress to assert this claim. Backing up these claims of the PRK and defending her worker citizens is the People's Revolutionary Guard, which boasts thousands of armed militants prepared to defend their territories, though expansion of these territories is currently off the table while the Revolutionary Vanguard Council organizes the new Keymonite state and implements policies of ensuring the safety and well being of those lucky Keymonite workers who have found themselves under the protection of the PRK.

New Valois Swears Loyalty to Lourenne
December 23, 4768

New Valois Consul Thomas Meunier

In yet another startling turn of events that have taken place in civil war, a fourth belligerent has risen up against the government of Queen Éva and proclaimed itself as a separate entity. The largely Canrillaise portion of Keymon has formally declared its independence and has seized territory in the east of the island after the withdrawal military and police forces loyal to Queen Éva, and has proclaimed itself as the sovereign Duchy of New Valois. This comes mere weeks after communist forces proclaimed the People's Republic of Keymon and seized territories along the Golden Coast.

At the helm of this movement of independence for New Valois is Thomas Meunier, a Canrillaise soft core jazz musician and guitarist for the Keymonite band Totally Mellow, as well as a long time activist for the rights of Keymon's Canrillaise minority. Meunier was elected by the Provisional Senate of Canrillaise to serve as acting Consul, the Duchy's chief executive, shortly after the Duchy's declaration of independence from Keymon late last week. Though the Provisional Senate is the official source of all state power in the Duchy, it has become clear that true power lies in Meunier and his personality cult, as he has become an iconic and beloved figure among the Canrillaise of Keymon, and has taken personal control of the Duchy's military forces.

New Valois's revolutionary army has already exerted its control over the entirety of the eastern half of Keymon, having blitzed across the undefended lands of Queen Éva. However, New Valois has stopped expanding its borders, which are currently shared with the lands of Queen Éva and the People's Republic of Keymon, and neither the Provisional Senate nor Consul Meunier have indicated whether or not offensive actions would be taken against either of the two belligerents.

And in another shocking and nearly hypocritical turn of events, almost directly after having declared independence from Keymon, the Duchy of New Valois declared itself to be under the authority of the Lourrenais monarchy and appealed to Lourenne for diplomatic and military assistance in its secession from Keymon. Consul Meunier released the following statement with regards to Lourenne:

The Canrillaise people of Keymon have long been oppressed by the ethnic regime of the Keymonite monarchy, and we see it as necessary in these times of strife to officially separate ourselves from Keymon. Two Keymonite monarchs fight for amongst themselves in the west, and a communist regime has established itself along the Golden Coast and made it clear that it intends to rule the entire. The Canrillaise of Keymon must fight to ensure that they are not enslaved by the evils of Keymonite monarchy or leftism. But we cannot win this fight alone. As Consul of the Duchy of New Valois, I implore that our mighty Lourrenais brothers come to our aid and bring us into your benevolent empire. As the world's premier Canrillaise state, it is the duty and responsibility of Lourenne to intervene in the affairs of other nations on the behalf their Canrillaise citizens to ensure that the interests of Lourenne and her ethnic brothers are upheld. Such is your duty, so please exercise it here. Lourenne, free our people from tyranny!

As the forces of a monarch marched closer towards the forces of another, the sound of machinery and aircraft overhead began to startle the men at the Madoggine River. However, the men held firm and waited for the advancing army of Queen Éva. This is the sights and sounds that led up to the ‘Battle of Shallow Creeks’, as it is being called by many locals in the area. And said battle has recently ended with a Carluist “victory”, though the deaths of hundreds of your own citizens wouldn’t normally constitute a victory.

According to sources within the Ministry of Defense, the operation had originally been composed of 10k men and 750 armored vehicles, however as men began defecting to King Carlu and to New Valois and the GCPR, the operation had to be substantially scaled back. By the time the operation actually began, the size of the army had shrunk to around 5k men and 300 armored vehicles. This has reportedly been a major issue throughout the Keymon Armed Forces, with some sources claiming that up to 40% of the Keymon Army has defected to either New Valois, GCPR, or King Carlu’s forces.

The battle began at around 11 AM, with Carluist artillery firing onto the armored vehicles moving up the road. Queen Éva’s forces called in air support, which promptly began searching for the Carluist artillery. However, the Carluists had hidden the artillery somewhere in the countryside, meaning the Air Force couldn’t find any targets. As the armored vehicles began to continue their advance, an ambush from Carluist forces stationed ahead of the main force destroyed 13 armored vehicles and killed numerous soldiers. Whilst the ambush was eventually repelled, it had sufficiently slowed down the offensive capabilities of Queen Eva’s forces, which gave the Carluists time to prepare anti-tank weaponry. After beginning their offensive once again, Carluist helicopters began to strafe Queen Éva’s armored vehicles, which did ultimately lead to the destruction of said helicopters via MANPADS. However, the helicopters did destroy ten armored vehicles and caused significant morale impacts to Queen Eva’s forces.

Finally, Queen Eva’s forces made it to the Carluist defensive positions, stationed behind the Madoggine River. The bridge over the river had been destroyed using artillery earlier in the day, which forced the soldiers and vehicles to go through the relatively shallow waters (4 ft. deep) of the Madoggine River. However, as the forces began their descent into the River, machine guns opened fire onto the men already in the river and the men beginning to descend the rivers banks. Anti-armor weaponry opened fire on the armored vehicles attempting to cross the river, and those stationed slightly outside of the defensive line. Following a relatively short gun fight, Queen Eva’s forced withdrew from the area, taking up their previous defensive positions.

This unlikely victory from the Carluists has given credence to the idea that this war will not end quickly, nor will it likely end in a bloodless manner. Whilst Queen Éva has reassured the nation that this war would be over quickly, this failure at the Madoggine River may prove otherwise.

Following the humiliating defeat at the Madoggine River, Queen Éva has announced the mass mobilization of all reservists. However, a major issue has struck Queen Éva’s military. Only around 40% of all reservists, according to a Ministry of Defense leak, have actively been accounted for. The remaining 50% have been reportedly joined King Carlu’s forces, according to insider information from both King Carlu’s and Queen Éva’s government.

The defeat at the Madoggine River handed to Queen Éva by the Carluist Army has demonstrated to not only the individual governments of Queen Éva and King Carlu that this war would not end quickly, but to the many members of the military, including reservists, that this would be a deadly war. With 15% casualties for Queen Éva’s forces at the Battle of Madoggine River, it is understandable as to why a majority of people would fear being brought into the military. However, the lack of soldiers has recently become a problem as the defensive line near the Florosian River has, according to insider sources, begun to lack the necessary men to actively defend the line from an offensive.

With a clearly divided nation and a divided military, it is unlikely that either side will be able to one up each other. It may, ultimately, come down to the intervention of foreign powers into the conflict that may in fact, end the war. However, no one seems willing to defend Keymon when she screams for help. As the old saying goes- “I have no mouth, yet I must scream”.

As the soldiers upon the Florosian Defensive Line awoke, few could’ve expected a massive artillery bombardment to strike their lightly defended and rarely assaulted headquarters. However, at around 1 PM, a shower of artillery and missiles rained down upon the Florosian Defensive Line, indicating that a large offensive would soon be taking place. And said offensive did eventually arrive.

The offensive, which came only 30 minutes following the beginning of the barrage of artillery onto the base, included numerous tanks and armored vehicles, something which has rarely been seen since the beginning of the war. Ever since the Battle of the Madoggine River, armored vehicles have been used in a primarily defensive role, with tanks on both sides rarely being used in any offensive role. The Carluist Offensive was initially met with fierce resistance from the poorly organized soldiers in the defensive line, however they where eventually forced to begin the quick retreat behind the Florosian River, which had soldiers stationed their, as part of a contingency plan. The offensive ended at 3 PM, as the Carluists raised the flag of King Carlu above the Florosian defensive works.

The loss of the Florosian defensive line has left only the Madoggine Mountain Range as the remaining major obstacle between King Carlu’s forces and Turtle Bay. Whilst the defensive lines in both the north and south have been reorganized and have been called “indestructible” by Queen Éva. This victory for King Carlu leaves Turtle Bay open to, whilst not large scale attacks, certainly small scale attacks over the Madoggine Mountains.

The final statement we wish to make on this matter comes from Queen Éva, who recently gave a speech regarding the losses her military has suffered recently:
Even the victorious seem to be losing. Lest we forget one of the many rules of history: You are only defeated if you admit you’ve been defeated. We have not been defeated and we never will be.

Only three months following the major offensive that saw Carluist forces take over the Florosian Defensive Line, Royalist forces have successfully retaken the line, signaling a possible shift in the tide of the war.

The royalist offensive began around 10 AM, when a joint Hutorian-Keymonite aerial bombardment commenced on the line. With around 40 aircraft bombarding the defensive line, the Royalist Artillery also began to sing, as they assisted in the striking of the line. After around 10 minutes of bombardment, a large armored contingent of the Royalist forces stationed on the river began to advance, with several squads of infantry moving alongside them. Whilst the armored vehicles did sustain heavy light-weapons fire, they managed to retake the line in a relatively short amount of time. Most Carluists had evacuated the line following the ceasing of the bombardment, most likely knowing a full scale assault was imminent.

The Queen, according to reports coming out of the royal palace, was ecstatic at the news of the recapturing of the Florosian Line, as the frontlines have been relatively quite due to lack of resources on both sides. The Queen gave a speech to the Parliament, which has been reconvened in an undisclosed location, where she said-
The retaking of the Florosian Line is a major victory for the nation. Soon enough, we shall be standing in Leighstown and this war shall cease. We’ve have endured nearly a year of on and off fighting and yet, now it appears that the war is coming to an end. My brother shall be forced to resign himself of his position as “King” and the nation shall once again, be united.

Other however, aren’t so certain of a Royalist victory. According to insider sources from within the Carluist Ministry of Defense, the Carluists are following a strategy of “rested defense”, where their army will remain on the defensive until fully capable of launching an offensive. Whilst no one knows when said offensive will be launched, it is certain that the Carluists have not given up yet.

Following a major victory for royalist forces, many had believed that the war would soon end. However, those dreams where dashed this morning, as a major offensive around Mt. Breithorn has forced the frontlines in the north back, one of them being pushed only 25 miles from Turtle Bay.

The offensive, which began around Mt. Breithorn, soon began to push in all directions in the north, pushing back Royalist frontlines. The offensive was accompanied by air support, something that has been rarely seen since the Hutorian entry into the war. The offensive successfully managed to push nearly 25 miles from Turtle Bay, with several other Carlusit units pushing across the Madoggine Mountains, opening a new potential front for the war. Royalist forced have also been forced from certain positions in the south, with Royalist soldiers withdrawing once again from the Florosian Defensive Line.

Whilst the forces that had pushed merely 25 miles from Turtle Bay where lightly armed, the possibilities exists that the Carluist forces on the Turtle Bay front may be reinforced and build up artillery, which could begin launching salvoes against Turtle Bay, which would almost certainly hurt Royalist morale and offensive capabilities.
