Cahtice: The Deltarian space agency, known as the FKA, has, for the first time in over a decade, launched a spacecraft into orbit. The craft, a military sattelite named ORIN-1, was launched from the newly constructed launch site in Ushalande. It was also launched using a new rocket system developed by FKA over the years which allows the launch rocket to reach its destination around 20% faster then the previous rockets could. The launch went smoothly, especially when you consider the previous Deltarian space mission was a failure. The ORIN-1 was a combined project of the Ministry of War and the FKA agency. With the Ministry of War putting an order in with the space agency for 10 new military sattelites, meant to make the current military systems independent from sattelites of other countries. Allowing Deltaria to navigate, target and do much more with their own sattelites, allowing for more flexibility and safety. The FKA had, following the conclusion of their previous space mission, struck a deal with the government which forced them to not focus on expensive exploration missions but instead focus their efforts on more low maintenance and effort projects such as the construction and launch of military sattelites. Only then would the government allow future exploration missions to continue.
When the FKA embarked onto the sattelite program it hadnt even begun when the economic crisis hit, prompting the government to only do what had to be done and postponing any funding to the FKA for the next 5 years. When the 5 years ended and government funds slowly freed up the FKA restarted the program which has now allowed it to launch the first military sattelites of the 10 in total. This Sattelite, ORIN-1, will be hovering above Majatra with the other under construction sattelites likely being positioned in such a way that Deltaria has at least one, and possibly multiple, sattelites per continent, allowing it to continue its strategy of building up influence without threatening sovereign nations. According to FKA spokesman Amar Horti the remaining 9 sattelites are currently being constructed with them being launched one by one over the coming years. ORIN-1 has, after the succesfull launch, been activated immediately and is currently being calibrated according to defense sources, likely being fully operational within the month.
