Cachtice: In the Deltarian capital of Cachtice a new Grand Theater has been opened, constructed from the ruins of the once "Imperial Theater" burned down in a fire some 100 years ago. The new theater has the same characteristics as the old theaters of more enlighting times, features a old but major main hall with several smaller halls with more modern characteristics included. King Aleximov I opened the new theater with much jubilation. Around 5 classical artists performed their music during the opening. Including legendary Deltarian classical music artist Selko Mirat. The ceremony was described as jubilant and "a great show of classic Deltarian musical talent." Local governments have invested millions into encouraging the music industry, with the classical music industry being one of the big suprises in recent years, with many Deltarians believing the classical music to be a celebration of their rich past and thus enjoying it thoroughly. The Grand Theater is one of the largest classical complexes build in Majatra and will feature a variety of artistic performances such as concerts and theater plays.

The first play, "The Majatran Eagle", will be performed next week. Marking the official first use of the new Grand Theater.

The song performed by Mirat during the opening of the Grand theater.

Cachtice: Defense developer PRIME Limited has revealed their new main battle tank to replace the T-84 Zeca as the primary MBT in the Armed Forces. The reveal was somewhat suprising to some, as the new design is derived from the already existing T-14 in Deltarian service. The T-14 was a highly expensive and modern tank with only 30 in Deltarian service due to its cost and difficulty in production. This new variant of that tank, the T-14AD, seems to lower cost per unit while keeping the main advanced characteristics of the original T-14. The T-14AD features a armoured pod protecting the tank crew, a unmanned turret and a fully implemented active protection system. These are features not present in the current Zeca or T-90, making it a far improved tank especially when it comes to armour and crew protection. The T-14AD was showcased last week by PRIME Limited, which has reportedly received a order for 300 T-14AD tanks, with the current 1000 T-84 Zeca tanks being phased out in the next 10 years. This means Deltaria will have much less armoured firepower but according to the Ministry of War the goal with this new program was to create a "smaller yet more officient armoured forces."
The T-14AD will be supported by the remaining fleet of T-90A tanks also in service, with PRIME Limited already rolling out a midlife upgrade for the T-90 which should allow it to last decades longer. There will be 200 T-90A's in service, giving the army around 500 tanks in total. The T-90A tanks will likely be used in a supportive/tank destroying role as their firepower is assumed to be greater then the incoming T-14AD while the T-14AD will be used for infantry support and as the MBT of Deltaria, with its protection systems and still relatively strong firepower being a great asset for the Army.

The T-14AD will gradually enter service in the next 5 years as PRIME Limited has started its construction. The T-84 Zeca will still have 200 in service at that point but will then be gradually phased out further till none are left in 10 years time, giving Deltaria a smaller but more modern tank force.

finance Minister Ptacek

SPINOFF FROM SKALA OCEL

Cahtice, September 18, 5037: After meeting with staff from the Ministries of Finance, Science and Technology and Trade and Industry, the Finance Minister, Nikolas Ptacek, made the following announcement:

Skala Ocel, our biggest steel producer, is still nationalized. Under our system this may continue or it may change. The government has been looking at a loan proposal from Skala Ocel for a spinoff private company most of the personnel and assets of which are currently in its Arc Electric division.

The government is approving the proposal and will lend through the Central Bank start up loan funds for Ushalande Electric Arc Company with headquarters in Stefannesti. The loan funds will be from the appropriations to the Ministries of Science and Technology and Trade and Industry.

The government is approving the loan because use of arc electric technology should reduce carbon emissions. Rather than using basic oxygen steelmaking technology, the steel manufacturing plant will use electric arc furnaces powered by clean energy to reduce the carbon emissions that occur when the carbon percentage present in the iron ore and scrap iron is reduced and impurities such as nitrogen, silicon, sulfur and phosphorus are removed. Depending on the type and grade of steel desired, certain amounts of manganese, nickel, vanadium and chromium are added to the liquid iron alloy.

Cachtice: The Conservative Democratic Union has scored a major victory in the elections of september this year, winning 183 seats, 45 more then previous election. The party did especially well in the middle class Darali region, winning over 65% of seats and unseating many veteran NVS representatives. The message echoed throughout the campaign by party leader Horak and the countless of ads posted painted a picture that the KDU seeked to expand the private economy while protecting public and social institutions as well as enacting a more conservative social policy, aimed at "allowing but not facilitating things like abortion, euthenasia and more." This combined approached worked both ways with religious voters more keen on supporting the traditional hosian democratic roots of the party again while young voters picked the party for promising a middle ground approach. Their use of social media and a mostly grassroots effort and their young leader Horak all contributed to the big win of the KDU, which thus won 45 seats despite being in the coalition with NVS, which lost big this election. The party immediately expressed its desire to stay in a coalition with the NVS, citing their "trust in the pragmatic approach and good cooperation the NVS and KDU coalition has shown in previous years." Behind closed doors the KDU has however pressured for the post of Prime Minister, seeking to give their leader Horak that position.

At first the King had invited theh NVS to form a government, as they were still the largest party. The NVS however declined, stating they "did not receive the mandate of the populace to do so and we would seek a transition and fresh face as head of the government.", the King then invited the KDU to form a government, which did so immediately. Ladislav Horak is now set to be installed as Prime Minister with the ministry of Finance, Defense, Justice, Education and Tourism also coming into the hands of the KDU, giving the rest to the NVS. The new government under Horak will likely try to strengthen the private sector, seeking to grand them more opportunity and less regulation. Furthermore foreign policy will be a important topic for the new government with a revived MA and a ambition to once again become important in global affairs, either alone or through the MA. The economy has been strong, giving this new government a good start to realize its ambitions.

Cachtice: Deltarian Tech Startup Kruh (Circle) has revealed what they themselves have called a "revolutionary dekstop OS." The new OS called "Air OS" was developed over the course of more then 10 years, receiving multiple iterations overtime. What sets the OS apart is that it is 90% funded through a crowdfund initiative. Kruh is new to the tech industry, only having developed a small audio editing program before embarking on this project. The company in its reveal stated this was, "one of the most ambitious project any of us has ever embarked on, developing a OS from scratch and completely crowd funded is something we couldnt have imagined but has been realized now. Just a few months from now Air OS will be ready for use and its all thanks to you." The company's CEO Lukáš Maliar revealed the total cost of the project, which in the end had cost a staggering 800 million over those 10 years, with more then 750 million gathered through donations and crowdfunding and the rest from stakeholders. The marketing also cost quite a bit of the budget, with the company hoping to release the OS for nearly all computer devices in every Majatran and Artanian nation, with a planned expansion to Seleya and Dovani already on the books within the coming 2 years. Kruh states that the OS features all modern requirements, priding the program for its "easy to use, transparant interface and excellent optimilization, allowing users to run the most intensive programs with ease."

Kruh was founded in the Ushalande region, with its HQ centered in Balgrad. Their main goal has always been "diversifying the Ushalande economy and showing policy makers that this region isnt just a hub for trade and industry, but one for innovation and tech as well." The company employs over 500 people in the Balgrad area, being one of its largest employers already. If Air OS becomes a success, the CEO Maliar has stated the company would like to expand itself, launching offices in Darali, Alazinder and potentially abroad. The company also seeks to be socially responsible, paying every employee in its service at least 60.000 DTE a year, over 10.000 more then the average workers wage in Deltaria. Air OS will be released for dekstops next month for the price of 60 LOD for the regular version, with Air OS Bussiness sold for 75, featuring server intergration and file sharing capabilities for companies.

Cachtice: The Darali Regional Government has announced a plan to rethink its strategy for tourism. Governor Gita Dudová stated that it was time for a new approach, "As Darali has a prime opportunity to stimulate and invest in its tourism sector." Darali is the part of the country with many cultural sites, from castles to the popular "Holy Lands", particularly popular for pilgrims. Previous government had already attempted to stimulate the tourism sector and with success. In recent years however that sector has struggled, thanks in large part to political instability and cuts in subsidies from the federal government. The Daralian Dudová administration now seeks to take matters into its own hands, announcing that the regional government plans to launch a initiative named the "Daralian Appropriate Strategy for a Organized Tourism Initiative" or DASOTI. The plan, consisting of a series of subsidies and legislative proposals, seeks to make starting a tourism based company easier by cutting local regulations and taxes. Furthermore a system of "ladder subsidies" will be introduced, giving companies of all kinds subsidies based on the amount of investments they make within Darali. The more investments, the more subsidies. The regional government will also put aside 2 billion to invest into revamping the ski resorts, lanes and lift equipment in southern Darali and expand local infrastructure there, making sure that the winter tourism sector is well prepared for a possible increase in tourism to the southern mountains. The cultural authority in charge of maintaining cultural sites in Darali will also receive a increase in funding meant to make these sites more accesible to the public.

The last step in the DASOTI plan is a major marketing campaign, which will broadcast a series of advertisements in different nations focussed on the cultural, winter and entertainment holiday sectors. These marketing initiatives will follow a specific design with a new website named "VisitDarali.dte" already having been launched, which has portals to local hotels, loads of information about visiting Darali and a dedicated customer service, helping potential tourists in their journey towards Darali. "We will set ourselves apart as a region of potential when it comes to tourism." said Governor Dudová. On the question whether the initiative would draw away tourists from Alazinder the governor responded, "Our focus is on winter and cultural tourism. Alazinder is a region for beach and party vacations, i think there is enough distinction to give us both a opportunity to grow." According to the Daralian Ministry of Infrastructure the infrastructural requirements are already in place but the ministry will, "keep monitoring the needs of our bussinesses and sectors to see what improvements we can finance." With this new plan the region expects to expand the tourism sector by 120% within the next 5 to 8 years, generating a additional 2 billion in revenue annually which would make the investments worthwhile. The DASOTI plan is currently being debated in the Darali Council (parliament) and is expected to pass next week.

Majatran Sea: The Royal Deltarian Navy has concluded a series of major naval exercises it dubbed "Majatran Shield 5038". The exercises, mostly centered around defensive naval warfare this time around, saw the first action of the newly organized Majatran Defense Group, headed by the only nuclear battlecruiser to be globally in service named the Tsar Vasily. The battlecruiser, housing a massive arsenal of offensive and defensive capabilities, headed a taskforce of 10 destroyers, 4 submarines and a variety of littoral ships such as gunboats and corvettes. During the exercise the MDG conducted a series of tasks and combat scenario's, meant to prepare the group for protecting the Majatran Sea and securing a searoute to the open ocean. The Tsar Vasily would patrol the Majatran Sea, engaging targets that penetrated the inner sea while also scanning the surroundings and checking cargo shipping. Its escorts would do a combination of supporting the main ship and patrolling on their own. Another big task for the group was the "closing" of the Majatran Sea, by monitoring and defending the gaps in between Pontesi, Selucia, Cildania and Badara. While the Majatran Sea Guard is still nominally active, Deltarian command seeks to be prepared on its own as well, making sure that Deltarian naval power could also "close the gaps" when necessary. The exercises didnt involve the carrier group, as Deltaria's sole supercarrier was undergoing a refit that will take till next year. Some of the destroyers and cruisers outside of the MDG did participate, being tasked with keeping open a searoute for Deltarian and Majatran shipping in case of conflict.

According to the Chair of the Joint Military Command staff the exercises were a "major succes, proving to the naval staff and the military as a whole that Deltaria is still ready to defend its waters and interests and showing our Majatran allies that we are capable of protecting the Majatran sea and in extension their coast. We remain committed to a strong defense for us and our allies and look forward to future cooperation." The Naval Staff is reportedly seeking to make Majatran Shield a annual exercise, keeping the majatran navies prepared for the possibility of conflict.

Cachtice: Deltarian Premier Ladislav Horak has, during a press interview, acknowledged the important role the MA has created for itself within both Deltarian and Majatran foreign policy. During the interview, Horak stated that the Majatran Association, "clearly is central to Deltarian foreign policy and plays a crucial role in the years ahead." The MA, formerly the Majatran Economic Association, has grown in scope over the past two decades growing from a merely economic union to one with open borders and political mechanisms in place. It was and still is one of the main drivers for the "centuries peace" which has engulfed in Majatra, with no war fought between any Majatran nations in decades. Deltaria has so far been one of the only nations capitalizing on the success of the organization, proposing several changes to its statute and centralizing its power, making it a political and economic union. Some economists have stated that any nation leaving the MA would suffer severe economic consequences, something Horak also reiterated by saying, "The MA, really, its a organization we cant withdraw from anymore. Majatra's and Deltaria's economies are bound to it and success for the MA means success for Majatra. There is no other way to put it."

Horak indicates that the MA will play a central role to Deltarian foreign policy as he thinks the organization might be the only way for Deltaria to retake its position as the most important geopolitical player, "The MA has the economic and diplomatic influence while Deltaria still acts as the military protector of Majatra. While we are on a strong path economically speaking, we really need the combined effort of Majatra and thus the MA to make sure the continent has a strong say in global affairs. Deltaria will keep its committment to the MA, but we expect the same for other member states. Staying together during these increasingly complicated times is vital to keep our interests and that of our allies secure."

Cachtice: Crown Prince Maxmilián has been called back by the Royal Palace, led by his father and King Aleximov, and will no longer lead delegations or represent the crown on his own. This comes after outrage followed as Maxmilián reportedly said in private that, "It would be better for Dorons and Akigans to just be gone" and "The military should have finished the job in the first place." These comments outraged the regional Doron Akigan government with their Governor stating that "Dorons and Akigans are as much a part of Deltaria as Daralians, our ancestors and ourselves deserve respect and the Crown Prince should now better then to put all our people in the trash bin." Prime Minister Ladislav Horak, upon hearing of the comments made during a gala at the Royal Palace, stated that "it would be best for the Crown Prince to know his history, but i would be glad to teach him." These arent the only remarks that have made people outraged. Earlier this year Maxmilián was attending a military parade and was caught joking with generals that "Everytime democracy rules Deltaria it ruins my wine, if the military is in charge it adds some flavour." reffering to the several military coups committed in the past. The generals in question were dismissed and dishounorably discharged after they laughed about the joke.

King Aleximov has now thus called back his son the Crown Prince and issued a letter which stated that the Crown Prince, "will no longer exercise ceremonial or official state duties until internal situations have been resolved." According to palace insiders Aleximov has been outraged with Maxmilián, as he himself is seen as a democratic monarch that is against remarks made by his own son. What all the problems mean for the succession is uncertain, as Aleximov nears his 81st birthday, many are affraid of what rule under Maxmilián would be, even as the current constitution merely reserves his role as ceremonial, many fear that he might in fact stretch the rules.

NOVY VERNY SVAZ WANTS AKIGAN LEGISLATION AMENDED

Interim Interior Headquarters, November 18, 5039: Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO what NVS legislation amending the Doron Akigo Special Legislation did, Interior Minister Evzenie Jankova today responded:

Pretty simple really. When that act was passed we had an elected head of state. The amendment provides the oversight to the Akigan Authority will be provided by the head of government when there is no head of state. Same idea for supervision of SRPZ.

Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO why she did not try to form a government after last election, Jankova responded:

We share the goals with KDU of building a strong economy in partnership with our Majatran neighbors using the Majatran Association as a building block, of demonstrating our nation does not have to have a dictatorship to make government work so that our military does not succumb to the temptation of taking over and of supporting our constitutional monarchy. But we also have many differences in our domestic agenda and some as to our approach more generally.

So we had a meeting of the NVS leadership and determined that since the abolition of the office of Spolkovy President, actual drafting of treaties could only be done by the foreign Minister. Further, we want to present our position on two issues to the World Congress and to so have to have control of the Foreign Ministry. We collectively decided having an NVS Foreign Minister was more important to us than having the Premier.

Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO if she would be campaigning for Premier when the next election eventually came around, the Interior Minister responded.

Yes.
