Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Rayko Hautzig has reigned as the State Chancellor for nearly 3 decades; he promised a "New Era" and to "Reignite Sacred Dorvik" but was met with fierce opposition at home and, most importantly a declining economy. Enter Maximilian Wegscheider, an up and coming NVP politician who served as the Deputy Minister-President of the Dorvan and then accepted a position as Minister of the Interior of Greater Kordusia. Wegscheider challenged a number of "norms" in the party, notably not challenging senior party officials and appointing a number of VDKV officials to his entourage; most notably Political Leadership Corps Behfelsleiter Marvin Kummer as his Chief of Staff within the Greater Kordusia Ministry of the Interior and appointing Security Service officials to a number of positions within the ministry. It has been reported to Hautzig will face a leadership test in the coming October, 5167 elections should he not face calls to step down earlier as many believe that Dorvik is facing a dire downturn and the political situation grows more and more precarious on the homefront. Several of Hautzig's ministers have been faced with scandals, the most recent involving the State Secretary of Finance Heiko Wieseltier who was arrested and charged by the State Economic Police for corruption and conflict of interest. The arrest came after prominent Dorvish insurance firm Wahrmann-Veiel, the second largest insurance company in Dorvik and a prominent Artanian insurance company was found to be bribing government officials and a number of other crimes against the state. Nicolas Wahrmann and Ferdinand Veiel, founders of the company and their families have been heavily embedded within the Dorvish government of Hautzig and the State Economic Police have arrested nearly a dozen officials from Wahrmann-Veiel in regards to the scandal.

It was announced that at the end of September, 5160 that Wahrmann-Veiel would be ending business totally and parts of the business would be sold off. Wegscheider's Interior Ministry conducted a number of investigations with the Haldor Police, the State Economic Police and elements of the State Security Service to manage the corruption. While Wegscheider has remained tight-lipped in public, it is well known in private circles that he has condemned the Hautzig State Chancellery and has worked to actively combat the influence of Hautzig State Chancellery on the NVP. Rumors have been abound that Wegscheider will publicly challenge in the coming year and prompt a leadership battle for the NVP and the entire country.

Dorvik provides humanitarian assistance to North Dovani

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish Foreign Minister Leon Egner announced that the Dorvish government would supply the government in North Dovani with humanitarian aide as it seeks to expand, once again, its foreign affairs overseas. The Dorvish Foreign Ministry also formally issued a "Red List" notification for Dorvish citizens travelling to and from North Dovani in light of the long-standing civil war in the country. The overseas humanitarian aide will be handled by the Dorvish Navy acting on a humanitarian mission and will be captioned by Kapitän zur See (Captain of the Sea) Ian Hoelscher, a veteran official from the General Navy Department who has undertaken humanitarian missions. FM Egner stated that the Dorvish government would be delivering a large number of ready to eat meals, purified water, the ability to produce clean water with portable purifying machines and other humanitarian aide such as ready to set-up tents, blankets and the like. According to Heiko Myrthenbaum, the Dorvish Trade Commissioner, the Foreign Economic Council will seek to develop a comprehensive re-building plan should the government in North Dovani require the assistance of the Dorvish government; already offers have lined up to repair infrastructure and other "essential services".

State Chancellor Maximilian Wegscheider has expressed concern over the general state of the world and has expressed that the lack of "typical" international institutions has significantly weakened the "world order". In his nearly a decade in the State Chancellery, the State Chancellor admitted that the typical Dorvish stalwart response has been lacking and he noted that it will change as it has to change. "Steps are being taken to re-correct the world order, notably in an attempt to re-assert that the Dorvish will be a pillar of stability and practicality within the world order." One of the first things that the State Chancellor has done has been re-calling a number of ambassadors and officials, replacing them and giving them new "marching orders".

Anti-corruption probe leads to arrest; Infrastructure program announces 125m Dolgar investment

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Officials from the State Tax Administration and the State Economic Police announced the arrest of nearly a dozen Dorvish business leaders for what is considered to be violations of the Law on Campaign Finance (Dundorfian: Gesetz zur Wahlkampffinanzierung; GWKF), a number of former Deputies of the State Council and several current State Council Deputies are considered to be potentially involved. According to Colonel Armin Lechner (State Economic Police), the investigation stemmed from the indictment of former State Council Deputy Bastian Nadler over failing to report income on taxes. Investigators from the State Tax Administration launched the probe and found that Nadler had been connected to several dozen prominent Dorvish business leaders who had been funneling money to current and former State Council Deputies. The arrests, which both the State Tax Administration and the State Economic Police have hinted at, will be far ranging and one of the most prominent anti-corruption actions in Dorvik in several decades. Many of the deputies that are in the alleged "crosshairs" have ties to the former Hautzig Chancellery, a notoriously corrupt and now disgraced Dorvish official.

While the anti-corruption movement in Dorvik has raised serious questions, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced a 125m Dolgar investment into the Dorvish railways and roadways; the program is aimed at putting more Dorvish citizens to work and enhancing the problematic main highways of Dorvik. Director Susanna Vorgrimler, the head of the Office of Infrastructure Management, noted that in recent administrations the roadways of Dorvik had been neglected by both state-level and provincial-level governments and the 125m Dolgar investment would be the first step in rectifying problems. Minister Felix Wolfensohn launched a program several years ago aimed primarily at fixing issues with the Staatbahn, which is nearing completion nearly 7 years after the project started. The announcement of funds comes with the announcement that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will be assisting the private sector and provincial and municipal-level governments with the hiring of nearly 5,000 new infrastructure and transport focused employees. Albin Bartels, the owner of a paving company in Greater Kordusia stated he'll be able to hire at minimum 10 new workers with the new contracts and grants.

Foreign Capital Fund puts up funds for Dovani and other nations.

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - The Dorvish Trade Commissioner has offered up funds from the Foreign Capital Fund to several nations, notably nations in Dovani that are seeking to re-develop and re-start their own economies. Amala Vonnegut, the Dorvish Trade Commissioner for the East (covering Dovani, Temania, Selaya and Vascania) and noted that an uptick in spending from nations such as North Dovani and Tropica had prompted the Dorvish government to pivot more more funds towards the continents as a whole. "Dorvik is in the fortunate position that we've been sparred some of the worst parts of the wide-scale economic recession that we've seen. It's been a "world economic malaise" if you want say that, we're making fund available to those developing markets that might require a boost when they need it. The funds will be available to for specific infrastructural grants as well as lost cost general loans." The Dorvish economy has fared better in recent years since the new State Chancellery took over, while economist believe that the Dorvish economy is coming out of a recession and has been for now several years. Dorvish economist have seen an uptick in the consumer economy, a rise in the luxury spending that is often associated with a healthy economy. For instance, last year a reported 37% of Dorvish citizens took a vacation abroad compared to inside of the country; this is compared to 21% the previous 5 years.

The recent uptick in infrastructure-related programs has also been instrumental in putting the Dorvish people to work. It is often that programs in Dorvik utilize fresh sources of labor and develop training programs for those being offered the work.

Dorvish officials condemn North Dovani coup attempt, back "deposed" government

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Maximilian Wegscheider and Foreign Affairs Minister Leon Egner announced the formal suspension of any economic aid or large-scale trade with North Dovani. This comes following the mid-July coup in the country which the Kingdom of Dorvik condemned entirely. "The democratically elected government of North Dovani has been formally overthrown, while we have ideologically differences with the government of North Dovani, we do not support a military coup in the country." The State Chancellor elaborated on the developments and what was known at the time, the Dorvish government refused to cite how it understood certain pieces of intelligence and certain players in the coup. It named a number of officials and officers who might have been linked with the coup; some speculate that the Dorvish intelligence agencies either have sources within the coup or have sources within intelligence agencies within Dovani. "We have reached out to our partners in Dovani to note our support for their efforts to restore the democratically elected government in North Dovani." The State Chancellor was asked about the recent news that Trigunia has offered assistance to the new regime and the State Chancellor visibly shook his head. "It is no surprise that a nation such as Trigunia which has been gripped with instability and lack of clear, concise government would be supportive of what appears to be a dictatorial, illegal regime. We wholly condemn the Trigunian comments and the world should as well."

When questioned about the World Congress and the Security Council, Foreign Minister Egner stated that World Congress officials have been notified and have been involved in discussions. The FM stated: "The World Congress has been in disarray for several years now and we believe that the World Congress will finally be able to re-organize itself after a number of poor leadership decisions. We sincerely hope so at least." The Foreign Minister discussed a large number of sanction possibilities and announced that they were cooperating with the government in Wolfsheim, Ostland to monitor the situation. The Dorvish government allegedly maintains intelligence efforts at the joint base on the island of Kamphon, a staging area for the Dorvish Armed Forces when they dispatched forces to Ostland during the Dovani War.

Dorvish King and Kaiser to attend Istalian Emperor's Golden Jubilee

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - His Majestic Highness, the King and Kaiser Otto XX, will be attending the Golden Jubilee of the Istalian Emperor Tommaso II. His Majestic Highness, Otto XX, has recently appointed a close confidant of his son, Thorsten Wilhelm zu Mohr, as the new Count-Palatine of the Household. The Count-Palatine of the Household is an unusual title but bears importance as a Count-Palatine of the Imperial Household is often appointed when the monarch is either in poor health or advanced age. His Majestic Highess, Otto XX is nearing 98 years old he was coronated on March 10th, 5139 and has reigned in relative obscurity disavowing the footsteps of his father who held strong political influence in the Dorvish political sphere and some blame for propping the Hautzig regime in Dorvik for nearly 3 decades. It is likely the last formal event that His Majestic Highness will attend, he will be accompanied by his son and Crown Prince Leopold, who is to ascend the throne in the event that His Majestic Highness is to pass. Crown Prince Leopold was born in 5145 shortly after his father took the throne and has played an active role in recent Dorvish politics where he was elected as a member of the State Council for Vinisk and has been an active supporter of the NVP despite being a declared political independent. The Crown Prince is a Colonel in Reserve with the Dorvish Landwehr and continues to fill his duties as a member of the Dorvish Armed Forces as needed.

Carrier Strike Group "Kaiser" complete refit, prepared for service

Kingdom of Dorvik -Chief of the Supreme General Staff General-Admiral Otto Leupold confirmed that the retrofit of one of the three Kaiser-class aircraft carriers had been completed. "We ordered the retrofit of the our three Kaiser-class aircraft carriers several years prior and the most recent one, the DNS König und Kaiser Ludwig, the flagship of the Carrier Strike Group "Kaiser", is prepared and will be conducting blue sea operations in order to standardize our operations to blue water operations." The Carrier Strike Group "Kaiser" (Dundorfian: Flugzeugträgerkampfgruppe "Kaiser") consists of the Kaiser-class aircraft carrier DNS König und Kaiser Ludwig, the DNS Westmark, a Kordusian-class frigate, the DNS Kruthia, the DNS Lievenia, and the DNS Lorman, Kruthia-class frigates will further be joined by the DNS Czimnetz, a Czimnetz-class fleet service ship and the DNS Ludwig Matern, a Thiers-class amphibious assault ship. These formations are still relatively new in the Dorvish Navy which has relied heavily on a "traditional" formation for their naval power but has developed new formations to better respond to crisis across the globe. While General-Admiral Otto Leupold stated that operations do not coincide with the rise of tensions with Trigunia and the situation in North Dovani, he would be remiss if it did not make things easier. "Carrier Strike Group "Kaiser" being available should the crisis continue is a good thing for the Kingdom and allows us to respond effectively in both peacekeeping and humanitarian actions." The Inspector-General was questioned about the status of the two other Carrier Strike Groups. The Inspector-General stated that they were being reformed and refitted to better manage operations. "We've learned a lot since the development of the carrier strike group formations, we've added a number of things that we publicly cannot talk about and expanded the forces assigned to them. For instance, the reorganized Sea Battalions have been assigned to the Carrier Strike Groups to better expand our capabilities and enhance security."

His Majestic Highness was in attendance with his son, the Crown Prince Leopold Otto von Faust-Essen and several other dozen Dorvish officials, including the Vice State Chancellor Oskar Köstler and the General-Plenipotentiary (Ambassador) to Istalia, Heiko Wernz. While attending the Golden Jubilee His Majestic Highness Otto XX announced that he had bestowed the House Order of Faust-Essen on the Istalian Emperor at the class of Grand Commander. His Majestic Highness stated that "...monarchies are important to the world and their countries. They serve as shinning beacons of faith and virtue for those who would have them. I have bestowed the House Order of Faust-Essen with the class of Grand Commander on Emperor Tommaso III, he deserves this award as much as anyone. He has served as the foundation for a successful Istalian state and has returned Istalia to the world stage to properly. I am honored to bestow such an award on him." His Majestic Highness will be vacationing in Istalia for a week prior to returning to Dorvik with his son, the Crown Prince and the rest of his family.
