Navy disbands Zaar Fleet in Istalia; 3 warships gifted to Alduria
August 5425

- Medinat Dpt. in talks with "multiple sides" on Yingdala's request towards the disbandment of the Mizrahi CSG in Hanzen
- Meleh Elias Ishmael IV retires from the navy

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The Beiteynuese Naval Command announced earlier this morning the disbandment of the 100+ year old Zaar Fleet deployment in Istalia, stationed in the ports of one of Beiteynu's longest enduring allies along with Kundrati. The Naval Chief commented how the decision comes in a string of decisions after the Migrant's Pass debacle, the new MOD policy towards increased defensive conduct and the large-scale success of the MSCO, especially with the most recent 2 incidents in Kafuristan and Badara. Along that, bilateral relations with Istalia have been dwindling for decades.

The BI300 Squadron was formed in 5316 and has consisted for most of its existence of a very small number of warships intended to act as a "diplomatic deterrent" in Majatran's southeastern corner; later on to further strengthen Alduria's and Lourenne's presence in the Sea of Lost Souls, by the subsequent formation in 5384 of the Zaar Fleet's Nefesh (Soul) Squadron in Alduria - a force essentially used to ensure the MSCO's cooperation with the Canrillaise.

The currently in service Kotor class frigate and 2 Horizon class destroyers have been gifted to Alduria, reportedly with 2 cases of the finest Yalomit Champagne, further enhancing Alduria's naval firepower since the purchase of the Sa'ar 5 class corvettes decades ago.

"Artania refuses to cooperate"; AU-MSCO negotiations fail
November 5426

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Initiated by the AU Council last year, a diplomatic delegation led by Sneakyeth Avodi of the Ministry of Foreign Affair's Medinat Department met up with representatives of the Artanian Union in Fort William (Luthori) to enter into talks on potentially resolving the now long open issue of military operations in the Migrant's Pass, a body of water between the 2 continents with arguably the highest volume of maritime trade in the world. The table of negotiations also included diplomats from Kundrati and Deltaria, in further representing the interests of the AU and the MSCO and their member states.

Sneakyeth Avodi, the Head of the Medinat Department, made the following statement upon landing in Yishelem:

It has been clear for a long time that the Artanian Union and the AU Council are not in a position to efficiently maintain cohesion and cooperation in the continent, much less enforce any military related agreements between Artanian states.

On one side, we have a consistent conduct of military cooperation and on the other side, a track record of power plays and inability to work together.

Since that is the case, the Homeland State of Beiteynu can by no means accept any proposals by the AU that still allow individual Artanian states to maintain military operations in the Migrant's Pass, even under the auspices of the AU itself, as there would be no effective influencer of continental cooperation. The MSCO is an organisation that has greatly achieved that purpose and with the outmost respect to Artania; it will continue to operate on that position.

Thus, that was and will remain the dealbreaker in any negotiations.

When asked about the future relations with Luthori and Kundrati, he added:

I realise the media needs to sell headlines. A simple disagreement on one specific topic does not mean anything. The Homeland State of Beiteynu will continue to honour its military alliances with Fort William and Kasaema with the outmost respect.

OOC: Brad & Hyr as representatives of AU and Zdanov and me as representatives from MSCO grouped up to see whether we could find a way to align OOCly based on any of the proposals like Zdanov's in the MSCC thread. We tried a few iterations but ultimately hit a stonewall as we could not find a way to connect the dots ICly. Brad and I will continue to RP on the platform we both have so far, which are 2 conflicting IC view points: Beiteynu wants only AU/MSCO to do as they please while Luthori wants any of their members to do as they please.

We agreed to RP the negotiations failing and going a bit hard on each other politically but agreed to keep IC backchannels open since we have no plan moving forward, yet.

Professor Beiass Freeman paints a picture of Beiteynuese tendrils in Dovani
December 5426

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Yingdala's casual request a couple of years back to disband the navy's supranational CSG in Hanzen almost went under the media radar until last afternoon, when Professor Beiass Freeman of the Nihasim University released a publication called "Tendrils", which attempts to paint the "actual picture" of Beiteynuese policy and its caveats in Dovani; placing Vascania dead center at the unfolding and subtle story of dwindling Yeudish influence.

The navy's Shahar Fleet deployment in Hanzen is a supranational one in nature: Lourenne, Luthori and Kundrati are also part of it. Although we attempted to get a comment from either the Medinat Department or the Kohav (Military Command), we were met with an endless barrage of "no comment"s.

It's been a known fact that the Hanzenese have openly aligned with the B&L order for quite some time.

Meleh Elias Ishmael IV and the Yeudish House of Elior have steered away from Wu Xuanyuan's self-declaration of what has been whispered around as a rather "obnoxious" royal diplomatic policy. The Beiteynuese Government has also refrained from expressing any position whatsoever towards the violent events in Vascania, whereas Yingdala congratulated them and Luthori condemned them. The latter broke Yishelem's leverage in the Vamaj Network after the shipping industry cost both Beiteynu and Luthori a few billions in energy trade; opening the floodgates of Vascanian influence in Narikaton & Darnussia and Malivia; and thus, the Migrant's Pass, which represents the most heated debate between Beiteynu and Luthori & Kundrati via the AU/MSCO.

Luthori and Kundrati; 2 members of the navy's CSG in Hanzen. The former assumed to discuss the request with Yingdala, independently.

With Vascania's ultimate connection to the Vamaj Network, there are 2 additional points of influence that can quickly change the game, leading to the Yeudis having no leg to stand on to maintain the supranational carrier strike group in Hanzen, despite the best of intentions.

Dovani's WDU is one of the strongest points of intergovernmental positioning by Dankuk and Lourenne, 2 of Beiteynu's strongest allies. Despite the fact that the supranational naval fleet in Hanzen also consists of Lourennais warships, Eroncourt has been weary of antagonising either Yingdala or the WDU itself. Which draws the apparent conclusion that any increased pressure or even the start of friction between a weary Hanzen and Yingdala will force the WDU and by extension Dankuk and Lourenne to subtly strong-arm Yishelem to withdraw, in order to protect the geopolitical stability of the region.

And, of course, Yingdala and Vascania shaking hands; that will, most likely, end Beiteynu's policy in Dovani.

History professor dubs period as "Emergence Era" with new book
May 5428

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Professor Jacob Shteman coins the term "Emergence Era of Beiteynu" in his new book "Emerge", which is set to document the tales of modern Beiteynuese history since 5199, when Baruch Lea Tzafrir took the reigns as Rosh HaMemshala. Curiously, the professor decided to publish the new historic book with Gem Publishing, a notorious publisher that's often the victim of slander and defamation suits by members of the House of Elior, with controversial book series The Meddling Affairs sitting at the center of legal disputes (which is presumably the reason we still don't have 7 of the 8 books).

Emerge is set to hit shelves on the 1st of January, 5429.

Navy disbands fleet in Hanzen; critics call it a "diplomatic failure"
May 5430

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The irrelevance of Beiteynuese policies in Dovani seems to have reached its final peak after the Beiteynuese Naval Command's announcement earlier this morning of disbanding the supranational Mizrahi (Eastern) Carrier Strike Group consisting of Lourennais, Luthorian and Kundrati warships led by the Queen Isabelle class BEINS Mizrahi aircraft carrier. The Shahar Fleet deployment in Hanzen was first put in place in 5386 to thwart regional instability by Hanzen's then nefarious neighbours, albeit ending up being mostly used in the Bloody Coup of Kafuristan.

It is presumed that the decision was made shortly after Sneakyeth Avodi's - the Head of the Medinat Department - return from Eroncourt; sources indicate that the invite issued by the High Chancellor in 5428 was essentially a means to an end in "putting the screws" on Beiteynuese influence in one of the most complex geopolitical landscapes in modern history with Hanzen, Yingdala, Vascania, Kundrati, Luthori and Dankuk (and by extension the WDU) all entangled in a web of global partnerships and alliances by a Beiteynuese - Lourennais "bloc" avidly keen on maintaining these interconnected networks.

The Medinat Department commented that Kasaema's pragmatic approach in the matter, standing in firm support of the Hanzenese Government, was an "essential marker of maturity" coming in from an Artanian state and one of Beiteynu's most long-standing allies (despite the recent breakdown of military cooperation with the withdrawal of military presence on both ends of the spectrum in Artania and Majatra). Thus, it has been widely assumed that the 4 Kotor class frigates by Kundrati may remain in Hanzen to accompany the 5429 deployment of Lourennais warships.

Sneakyeth Avodi expressed the Beiteynuese Government's support of both Lourennais and Kundrati (if confirmed) presence in Hanzen, citing how Beiteynuese leadership in the region may be redundant, but nonetheless still supportive of its allies and their leading actions in securing regional stability.

We will still honour our commitments to Hanzen, just as we have been loyal in our alliances with Lourenne and Kundrati.

High-ranking officials in the Rose Administration expect some kind of "disappointment" from the Hanzenese Government, which might shake relations to a certain degree, in what has been widely described as a "diplomatic failure" on the part of the Medinat Department.

However, trilateral relations between Fort William, Eroncourt and Yishelem continue to take a turn for the worse, stemming primarily from a seeming "alignment" in Dovanian policy by Lourenne and Yingdala, covered extensively in a 5429 publication by the Royal Academy of Lourenne. The "geopolitical battle" will presumably subside with the removal of Beiteynuese influence in Dovani, however, the ultimate "showdown" is expected to continue taking place between Lourenne, the WDU, Yingdala, Hanzen and to an extend, Vascania; with the latter "silencing" Yishelem by its commercial influence in the Vamaj Network.

With the disbandment of the carrier strike group, the Naval Chief confirmed that the 2 Vanguard class submarines by Luthori will be recalled, while the aircraft carrier, the 50 Kfir jet fighters and the 3 IBAE-400 reconnaissance aircrafts will be transferred to Lourenne in a hefty 6.2B deal.
