Navy pumps 1.55B to the city of Himmelshtern
November 5430
Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The rather humid city of Himmelshtern sitting at the foremost northwest of the country at the feet of Mt. Bermon has traditionally housed tech, defence and, of course, the Beiteynuese Naval Command's headquarters. The island north to the city - the Himmelshtern Beacon of Hope or Lekavot (Hope) Island - is the navy's main base of operations, connecting the 2 ends of the West Bank and the North Bank into a single command line that acts as the "overwatch" between the Red Bass Ocean and the Migrant's Pass, looking at Narikaton & Darnussia to the far north.
The uptick of trade with the Vamaj Network has not only led to the expansion of the city insofar as the oil and gas industry is concerned, almost as close as the immense sizes of the industrial ports of Sholemberg and Rishon Le Hofesh, but has increased maritime trade tenfold. The comings and goings of all sizes of commercial and industrial ships of all kinds of flags have led the navy to double-down on the city's strategic location.
A few purchases of shiny new equipment for the Lekavot Fleet will be accompanied by an expansion of the naval base on the island over the course of the next 3 years. The fleet and the location not only houses the BNC, but offers accommodation to both the Lourennais Second Royal Fleet and the CMRF's satellite office, acting as a "resting station" for MSCO forces traversing between the southwest and northern regions of Majatra.
Albeit the recent recalls of Kundrati and Luthorian forces, the Kohav (Military Command) hopes that the city and the island will become the premier location of international forces once again, as part of Yishelem's call to its allies to defend the homeland.
