I did not give permission for this role-play. I would like to ask Moderation to invalidate it in line with section 6 of the Game Rules.

In raids across Solentia Ahmadi militiaman have rounded up key leaders from Bright Future. The governing party has been officially dissolved and its leaders declared apostates in a fatwa issued by Mullah Asmaray Jalali who has established a new party the Ahmadi Council for Justice and Virtue with the aim of restoring Ahmadi values and decency to Solentia after decades of anarchy in the country. It is not known what will happen to the leaders of Bright Future. It is known religious doctrine determines the death penalty and both private and public blasphemy are considered grave offenses, and are heavily prosecuted.

Moderation Note: This RP is invalided and “retconned” due to the creator/controller of the characters and the Bright Future party not consenting to this Roleplay. As a general note to all, named former government officials can be stated to have fled the country, went into hiding or otherwise not be involved with public life anymore. You cannot state that they were arrested or otherwise control what they do, unless permission is given. I’d like to note that Moderation generally accepts that new governments can RP the arrest of senior or mid-level previous regime/government officials that do not have direct affiliation with the previous party/parties or are not named.

OOC: Noted. If only the player had given an RP reason for leaving it would have been easier! Oh well, perhaps they all went on holiday!

Takhghisi Post
Solentia's leading newspaper.
June, 5488 | Ahadism and Secularism clash in the JLMs formation.

Oda - In the midst of the chaos that has engulfed the Solentian capital of Oda, formerly Takhghisi, a wave of unease has swept the capital as a coalition of secular and religious forces announced its intention to run for national elections. The Justice and Liberation Movement and its leader, Bakht-Awar Golzar, announced that they would be competing for national elections as soon as they were "organized". Solentia has had little of a functioning government for several decades and the country has suffered under harsh economic conditions and in-fighting among tribal, religious and even secular factions has forced the country to be considered a "failed state", notably in the eyes of its people. Golzar, the potential candidate for head of state, has laid down his plans to ensure an orderly transition. Golzar, who spoke underneath heavy guard at a rally held in the main square of the capital, noted that "...the establishment of a government of good Ahmadi faith and virtue is necessary for the order of any nation-state." In addition, he laid down his "transition" plans which include appointing a new Supreme Council, which will take the place of the current government underneath the leadership of Tajbakhsh Jabarzadeh, a businessman from Oda. The two came to an agreement, known as the Takhghisi Accord in late May, 5488 which set down agreements for a coalition government and cooperation between several secular and moderate religious parties, and groups and the more Ahmadi political groups within the country.

Takhghisi Post
Solentia's leading newspaper.
August, 5488 | JLM wins out, Golzar elected President.

Takhghisi - President Bakht-Awar Golzar commented that the election of August, 5488 had been a monumental shift in the domestic politics of the country. “We have formed a functional government for the first time in what feels like an eternity.” The elections, marred by allegations of corruption, voter intimidation and otherwise problematic behavior was considered a “success” by international observers; albeit a tainted one. President Golzar formally appointed Tajbakhsh Jabarzadeh, his coalition partner in the Justice and Liberation Movement as the new Prime Minister. It was together they announced the formation of the Ahmadi Republic of Solentia and the formal renaming of Oda back to Takhghisi. Prime Minister Jabarzadeh jabbed that they had won the election over a “…functional corpse…” and that the competition was “…stiff…”.

They also formalized and welcomed the new legislature, the National Jirga, into session and elected Salar Bahawalanzai as the new Speaker of the National Jirga. The Speaker presided over the several week debate over the new Constitution and what should be included, among the most “controversial” to observers, was the formal acceptance of Ahmadism namely Israism as the recognized but voluntary state religion. Solentia has grappled with weeks of unrest due to the new government attempting to get a grip on the country which has struggled with law and order now for several decades. Clashes between what little remains of a national police force and both secular and religious protesters have become increasingly violent with President Golzar threatening to send in the military, or what remains of it, to quell the unrest.

President Golzar confirmed that Solentian officials had been approached about their potential involvement in the Bier Qassem Conference and noted they’d be weighing involvement. “The situation in Solentia is of the most important, Akim guide us in solving the issues that plague our people.” President Golzar and Prime Minister Jabarzadeh have both noted their support for a revived Majatran economic community and welcomed any support that could be provided to them in their quest to better involve themselves in the wider community. Minister of Finance and Minister of Trade and Development announced that they had provided the President and the National Jirga a series of legislation to focus on the economic regrowing of Solentia, notably the re-establishment of the Solentian National Bank (Da Sahil Milli Bank) as the primary bank of the nation.

Minister of Trade and Development courted several prominent officials in the capital, notably those from the Khushal Bank of the South and the Golden Crescent Bank, who sought to re-establish operations in the nation following the election.

The Prime Minister has been dispatched, according to reports, to the west of the country to meet with Sahil Turjak leaders which dominated their local provincial jirga’s in elections and shore up support for the new government in the capital. The Prime Minister and the incoming Minister of Public Works, Merza Taghipour, are attempting to ensure that flow of oil and natural gas from the western part of the country are not interrupted any further. President Golzar has yet to appoint Governors to any of the provinces but the visit is expected to see the potent tribal and political alliances of the Sahil Turjak leaders score some positions within the western provinces governments.
