Fine Choiarlabhan Sweep Elections

Fine Choiarlabhan (Family of Kirlawans) has won a majority in the Dáil as well as securing the role of Uachtarán (President). The party was only formed two years ago but draws upon a history of pragmatic centre-right parties that are socially and economically liberal.

The last session of the Dáil saw two new parties formed including FC, although the second party disbanded before the latest elections. FC won pluralities in all three regions including absolute majorities in Merkan and Nuchtmark, which was enough to give it an absolute majority in the Dail with 70 out of 133 seats.
FC was the largest party in each region.
Despite having a majority the FC leadership has promised to form an absolute majority with the right-wing Independents Party, which would give the new government a two-thirds majority in the Dail. FC have detailed initial legislation will focus on economic and tax reforms along with an increased role for Kirlawa in international politics, specifically assistance for refugees and foreign aid.
