June 5506 | Crisis in Aslistan deepens as government tries to make domestic situation better.
The crisis in Assistant deepens as the new Ahmadi Republic of Aslistan continues to march forward and claim swathes of territory from the Democratic Republic of Talmoria. Supreme Leader of the Aslistan Babangida el-Hoda has called for international recognition of the AR Aslistan and its right to self-determination. This comes at a time when the radical Ahmadi movements in Dovani are expericing an uptick, the situation in Nefa, Mina has been further complicated by the presence of radical Ahmadi’s. Talmorian FM Kwame Nkosi has condemned these calls and states that Aslistan remains a part of the Democratic Republic of Talmoria. The Foreign Ministry of the breakaway Nefa Ahmadi Democratic Republic (NADR) has recognized the breakaway Talmorian region and announced “cooperation” between the two nations according to press releases from official websites.
Deputies, including the President, from the National Assembly have called into question the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the poor response of the Talmorian Armed Forces. This has been made worse by reports that the Minister of National Defense has not been seen in public for several weeks as the rebellion in the east has worsened. President Mabika has confirmed he is in constant communication with the Defense Minister and that they’re monitoring the situation.
Local reports and reports from defense intelligence groups such as Gath Defense Collective have all but cited a pure breakdown in operational capability of the TAF. “The Talmorian Armed Forces have ceased to exist as a defense force for the nation.” Rumors have been abound that the Talmorian government has considered or already has, hiring/hired private military contractors to assist in rebuilding their armed forces and fight against the breakaway regions. A spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defense denied this. This comes at a time when the leaders of Triumph Security Services (Ikradonian: Triumph-beveiligingsdienst; TBD) were spotted arriving at Sogo International Airport. TBD is a private military contracting firm which typically hires Narik, Saridani and Ikradonian soldiers to provide global security, its well known for its mercenary work. Its founder, Maup de Leve, is well known as a soldier of fortune following his departure from service in Ikradon’s special forces.
State Secretary of Defense, Azah Mbong, was spotted in Sogo courting Artanian Defense Group officials as well as Majatran Organization for Industrialization officials. The two allegedly offering solutions to solve the defense material crisis in the Talmorian Armed Forces. While Talmoria has experienced the crisis in Aslistan, the situation in the country continues to improve as the new government has sought to restore vital services and develop a means of effective governance. Ministry of Interior and Security as well as the Ministry of Justice have worked closely to begin implementing basic policies for the recruitment and operations of the National Police and the newly formed Security Intelligence Service, which is jointly overseen by the Ministry of Interior and Security and the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Public Infrastructure has developed a program aimed at bringing electricity back online for hundreds of thousands of residents who have otherwise suffered from intermittent power issues. The ministry has consolidated all power grids under a newly formed national corporation, known as the Talmorian National Power Authority (TNPA) and consolidated operations as a means to better manage the situation. Several deputies of the National Assembly have called for localized control but have not submitted any legislation to the National Assembly to alter the current laws.
