2 Dairat agents apprehended in Haifbourg
December 5399

Image

Haifbourg, Beiteynu - The Desert Bank has traditionally been known for its Ahmadi-centric multiculturalism, mostly neglected from Yishelem's central affairs excluding a few cases of leveraging the region's aridness for military, intelligence and energy use. Haifbourg, one of its most prominent cities, sits under Mt. Mushafakir, very close to the now washed out body of salt water known as the Yam Nitz'hee (Undying Sea). Exotic, arid and chaotic.

The Terran Remediation Agency reported the apprehension of 2 Dairat agents, Kafuristan's notorious intelligence unit, after a rigorous 9-month surveillance program resulted in a short "manhunt" in one of the city's northwestern districts. The reports filed with the Beiteynuese Police indicate that 1 of the agents attempted suicide as a means to avoid capture and was rushed immediately to the hospital, where they are being treated in good condition.

The case was handed over to the Agafim, Beiteynu's domestic intelligence agency, as domestic affairs fall under its direct jurisdiction.

The Director of the Terran Remediation Agency extended her sincerest concerns of Kafuri intelligence interference within our country's borders, citing how the lowered sphere of conduct permitted by the Intelligence Oversight Committee has resulted in "lowered security".

It is rumoured that the HA will continue lobbying for the introduction of counter-measures to existing limitations, as hinted last year.

BREAKING: Navy heightens awareness as 3rd Azhara appears on the horizon
December 5399

Image

Amshinov, Beiteynu - The assassination attempt of President Al-Saar, the rapid establishment of martial law in Kafuristan and the trigger ready demeanour of the Ba'athist Regime in rallying against Ahmadi radicalism seems to have brought tensions at an all time high. Citing exponentially increased concerns of domestic stability in the country, including but not limited to the financial pressures surfacing earlier this year, Kavin Mahorit, Head of the Kohav (Military Command), has ordered the Beiteynuese Naval Command to upgrade all 3 Zaar Fleets present in Alduria and Istalia to DEFCON 3 (weapons armed).

At present, the naval forces deployed around Kafuristan consist of 2 Carrier Strike Groups and more than 120 Kfir jet fighters and 20 warships, as the possibility of the Rosh Ha'Memshala issuing the Sofi Azhara (Final Warning) has become very real after the recent developments in Kafuristan.

However, talks of a naval blockade seem to have died out after Badara's alignment with the MSCO, with high-ranking officials pointing at how Trigunia, Dolgava and Dorvik have in fact refrained from following-up on their support of the Ba'athist Regime, after Yishelem's successful international rallying.

Katerina Sheket, the Head of the Medinat Department, was however quick to "tone down" the situation earlier this morning:

I can confirm that we have been sitting on a table of negotiations brokered by Aldurian officials and intelligence. Despite Badara's counter to the looming of an energy crisis, the spillover of instability in the continent caused by the Ba'thist Regime is something we can't ignore, as we all have to deal with it.

Another issue that Beiteynu will not be backing out is the blatant executions of Beiteynuese and Istalian citizens.

Our primary goal is to reach an agreement that also guarantees domestic stability in Kafuristan, by Kafuristan itself.

The Yishelem Post
House of Elior ascends to the Throne of Yishelem
January 5400

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - At 00:00 on January 1st, 5400, the country celebrated the ascension of the House of Elior to the now restored Yeudi Monarchy, after thousands of years of obscurity. Her Royal Majesty, Aviv Imo of the House of Aristocrat-Goldbloom, Inheritor of the House of Elior by the Grace of Elyon and Guidance of Ariel; Mertza (Steward) of the Yeudi Monarchy and Mahzik (Holder) of the Yeudi Crown of 8 Gems and the Throne of Yishelem, Princess of Sholemberg, officially took the position the day after, on January 2nd, to care for the monarchy until the next stage of the ascension.

The Beiteynuese Government has finally confirmed that on 5406, Elias Ishmael IV will ascend to the Throne of Yishelem as King of the Moledet Medinat; the Medinat Department will begin inviting dignitaries and diplomats from all over in preparations of the coronation.

It is a great day for Beiteynu and Yeudis across the world.

The Yishelem Post
BREAKING: Navy engages with pirates in southwest Badara
January 5400

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - We have just received news that the Beiteynuese navy situated northwest of Kafuristan in the Majatran Sea has engaged with 2 pirate boats, after they failed to heed the warnings to back away from the reconnaissance formation sent out by the Reshout Carrier Strike Group. The deployment was enacted after the BNC's liaison office in Alduria gave the go-flight to patrol waters further closer between the 2 countries, as reports of piracy from the Lourennais 5th Fleet patrolling the western regions of the Sea of Lost Souls continued to mount up, according to sources from the Kohav.

Kavin Mahorit of the Kohav has firmly stated that the incident will trigger no change in the navy's current DEFCON status, especially as the Medinat Department reports that intense negotiations are currently underway directly with sources in Kafuristan.

The Director of the Terran Remediation Agency is set to meet with the Cabinet for a debrief together with Aldurian intelligence officials.

The Yishelem Post
Medinat Department confirms negotiations with Kafuristan underway
February 5400

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In acknowledging the pivotal contributions of Aldurian intelligence in this entire endeavour, the Medinat Department also confirmed earlier this morning that Beiteynuese officials have sat down on the negotiation table with the Ba'athist Regime they have so stubbornly refused to recognise. The change of pace does not come unexpectedly; a new moderate sentiment took hold earlier this month in Kafuristan, international pressure has reached a critical focal point even in the Security Council; in Beiteynu, Sheket had already attempted to tone down the situation at the end of last year, amidst mounting tensions.

The Medinat Department will seek to recognise the Ba'athist Regime and cancel sanctions and embargoes only if certain stipulations are met. First and foremost, Beiteynu wishes that all those involved in the targeted deaths of Beiteynuese, Istalian, Jelbic and Vanukean citizens, directly and indirectly, be extradited to Lourenne to stand trial on counts of murder and severe violations of human rights.

Second, Kafuristan joins the MSCO and pledges itself to the stability of Majatra, effectively also partaking in the fight against piracy.

Katerina Sheket commented:

Our approach is to ensure that Kafuristan returns to the continent with dignity. They need to join us again in ensuring the prosperity of the Kafuri and the Majatran people alike for the long-term, not just as a result of these negotiations, should they come to bare any fruit.

When asked about Kafuri-Dorvish relations in the wake of Dorvik's partial support of the Ba'athist Regime during the latter's threats and actions against the continent of Majatra, Sheket commented how Yishelem will maintain the same stance of indifference in the matter as it does with Dolgava.

"No need to pull anything", she concluded, "when they just pulled it themselves".

- Beiteynu votes to condemn Kafuristan at the Security Council.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - The Rosh HaMemshala (Prime Minister) and Royal Ramatkal (Chief of Staff) Eliana Amira paid a visit to Her Royal Majesty, Aviv Imo, the Mertza (Steward) of the Yeudi Monarchy and Mahzik (Holder) of the Yeudi Crown of 8 Gems and the Throne of Yishelem, this morning. The meeting which took place at the Royal Palace was the first official meeting between the two leaders since the restoration of the Yeudi Monarchy in January 5400.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening the ties between the Beiteynuese government and the Yeudi Monarch especially in the lead up to the ascension of Elias Ishmael IV to the Yishelem throne as King of Moledet Medinat in 5406. According to a joint statement by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Royal Palace, the meeting was described as “warm, friendly, and productive” with Prime Minister Amira adding:
I look forward to the coronation of Elias Ishmael IV in 5406, and I hope that his reign will be long and prosperous. I also look forward to welcoming the dignitaries and diplomats from all over the world, who will witness this momentous occasion and share in our joy. I invite all Beiteynuese citizens and Yeudis across the world to join me in celebrating this great day for Beiteynu.

I accept Kafuri's invitation for talks, but with conditions, says Prime Minister Amira
March 5400 - In response to the invitation from Kafuri's government for a meeting, Prime Minister Eliana Amira says she accepts the invitation, but with conditions.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In a press conference this morning, Prime Minister Eliana Amira announced that she accepted the invitation from the President of Kafuristan, Abdul Rahman al-Mostafa, to discuss the normalization of relations. However, she also expressed her concerns about the proposed location and suggested a neutral venue for the talks.

Here's the Prime Minister's opening statement:
I appreciate President al-Mostafa’s willingness to open negotiations in order to end the hostilities between our two nations. Personally, I believe that dialogue is the only way to achieve peace and I am ready to engage in constructive talks with the Kafuri government. However, I am concerned about the security situation in Kafuristan, especially after the assassination of President al-Saad. Therefore, I have proposed to the Kafuri government to hold the talks in a neutral location like Kanjor.

The Prime Minister added that she was also concerned about the reaction of some hardliners and extremists, who might oppose or even sabotage the talks.

The Prime Minister’s statements have sparked mixed reactions across the country. Her critics have accused her of being naive and weak, and of insulting the memory of the Beiteynuese citizens who were killed during the coup. On the other hand, political analysts have praised her conditions, saying that they were prudent and cautious, especially since two Beiteynuese Prime Ministers have also been assassinated in the past. They said that safety was paramount.

The Yishelem Post
Sheket blunders response to Hutori representative in General Assembly
July 5400

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In what developed into a rather fiery conversation between Dorvik, Lourenne, Dolgava and Beiteynu in the General Assembly of the World Congress, Katerina Sheket of the Medinat Department chose to voice Yishelem's position on Dorvish foreign policy, citing how it was essentially non-existent in regards to the ongoing tensions with Kafuristan. Sheket attempted to highlight the lack of any evident actions and diplomacy from Haldor during the entire situation, when the Hutori representative commented on how Beiteynu seemed to be aware of "intel" on Dorvish-Kafuri relations.

The Medinat Department reaffirmed Sheket's position that there's "nothing more than a couple of poorly timed movements" published by the Dorvish media, declining however to either validate or deny the existence of that special "intel" Sheket mentioned.

A transcript of Sheket's response is available, here.

The Yishelem Post
Kohav deploys 3rd carrier fleet to southeast Majatra
July 5400

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - Largely thought to be a coin toss between putting out the fire or throwing more oil on it (pawn intended), the Kohav (Military Command) has decided to deploy its final CSG, making the region the hottest cauldron of supranational military congregation in the world; 2 carrier fleets to the west, 2 carriers fleets to the east - with the Lourennais 5th Fleet also undertaking the protection of Badaran maritime trade - and piracy and anti-piracy forces in between Badara and Kafuristan, engaged in a continuously confusing situation amidst exponentially mounting international pressure.

The sum of states currently involved in the naval deployments to Badara and Kafuristan are Beiteynu, Lourenne, Alduria, MSCO forces from a variety of Majatran nations, Luthori and Kundrati as currently accompanying the Beiteynuese carrier fleet in the east as part of its formation, with Hutori and Kundrati rumoured to be considering assisting in the situation directly, after the passage of the SC/R132 in the World Congress.

Now, as the Security Council further deliberates upon 2 additional resolutions in light of the recent flair of domestic tension in Al-Badara, the spotlight falls upon the Kafuri Ba'athist Regime which sits in the middle of the entire situation somewhat engaged in negotiations with the Beiteynuese Government after the Rosh Ha'Memshala's recent acceptance of an invitation for talks, but with a stipulation that they take place in a neutral ground outside Majatra.

Beiteynuese fleets will remain on DEFCON 3 (weapons armed), as a 3rd Azhara has not been issued.

Hadayim meets with IVO to establish Vamaj supply network
August 5400

- Company executives also confirm that talks with Baofluz are underway on Lake Majatra
- Birco and Hadayim to represent Beiteynuese participation in joint Lourennais - Luthorian SouthernOil in the South Ocean

Image

Kamalata, Vascania - Throughout this entire ordeal with the oil and gas crisis in Majatra, business circles have been ablaze with one particular topic: how the entire scene would have been vastly different hadn't Trigunia and Neftkomp reneged on their distribution deal with Beiteynu's shipping industry just a decade prior to the events we're now witnessing in the continent. With the slash to 1.5% from 25% evident a few years before, the change of pace in Neftkomp's relationship with Hadayim came amidst administrative reforms that were intended to "right the ship" in the Trigunian economy.

As there hadn't been any significant bilateral relations since the 5320s, the Beiteynuese shipping industry packed its oil and gas tankers and went elsewhere; and in considering the conduct of companies like Hadayim, Trigunia's support of Kafuristan would have most assuredly not have stood in the way.

Shipping's involvement in oil and gas distribution

Its titans - Hadayim, Birco and Petrik Hadayot - had enjoyed a lucrative oil and gas distribution deal upwards of 25 to 50% with Neftkomp for decades, put in place since 5341, after Hadayim had leveraged international sanctions against Trigunia that were in effect at the time. Despite the deal being an extension of an already existing business agreement since the century before, it was power brokering in every sense; which explains why Neftkomp itself received pieces of the pie on the other end of the spectrum. Having poured millions in Brakav in 5286 with Beiteynuese shipping, Neftkomp then joined up directly in helping expand petroleum refinement in Beiteynu over the next decades, moving crude for refinement instead, which is cheaper.

By 5381, the petroleum refinement industry in Beiteynu had Neftkomp and Beiteynuese shipping sitting at its center of operations, with a solid foothold for the next great opportunity. After Neftkomp pulled out, Hadayim pulled out, buying out the former's stakes in Sholemberg's refineries and storage facilities.

In ending up as the driver of the petroleum refinement industry in Beiteynu and being the country's big league exporting force in par with its international network, shipping has had a keen interest in oil and gas distribution and operations since 5238 when, curiously enough, it had bought KNOC shares.

A global distribution network, starting with Majatra

Companies including but not limited to Hadayim ranging from regional to international span have expanded throughout the last 2 centuries in Artania - with Kundrati and Etxea at the epicentre of operations , Seleya - with Valruzia and Aldegar and Majatra, with a large focus on the Majatran Sea and Beiteynu's trade network from Pontesi, Selucia, Cildania and all the way to Istalia. That includes Kafuristan, a fact that made few surprised when the shipping industry was the one with the most notable lobbying efforts in Yishelem, as they attempted to tone down the conflict and restore trade with Kafuristan.

In meeting with IVO executives in Vascania, Hadayim looks to the massive, barely edging on anti-Beiteynuese sentiment country to the west across the treacherous Red Bass Ocean, especially in the wake of financial staleness and the country's very own appearance of a "business-friendly" Prime Minister. Historically, Beiteynu and Vascania maintained no relations; only once, the fervour of diplomacy reared its ugly head during the short-lived "cold war" with Vanuku, Beiteynu's neighbour to the south, which begs the question on how the center-left Amira Administration will take in the news.

The deal

The Vamaj network will contain no sharing of ownership of any kind. IVO offers the oil and gas, Hadayim ships it to more and more customers; it covers the heavy weight transport to Beiteynu and parks distribution in Beiteynu's international ports, which were largely expanded since the beginning of the previous century.

The supply chain will then connect with other distribution companies from Beiteynu and other countries in Majatra such as bordering Barmenistan and Pontesi, Vanuku, Zardugal, Jelbe, Selucia, Cildania and Istalia; and even beyond, potentially reaching Malivia, Kundrati and Luthori (although unlikely as Fort William already has a deal in place with Vascania) in Artania and even broader Seleya with Alduria connecting directly from Istalia.

Negotiations on the deal are expected to endure over the course of the next months, with the logistics and volume of supply still on the table.
