Acadēmia Selūciāna Created to Rgulate, Promote Selucian Language
ARGŌNA – At the direction of the national government, Education and Culture Minister Mānius Cornēlius Arvīnius has initiated the creation of the Acadēmia Selūciāna (“Selucian Academy”), a scholarly literary and linguistic association that shall serve as the official authority on the Selucian language. In addition to awarding literary prizes for works in Selucian, the Academy will formalize two official forms of the language: Lingua Selūciana Sacra (“Sacred Selucian”), the standard used for religious affairs based on the older, classical form of Selucian; and Lingua Selūciana Cīvīlis (“Civil Selucian”) a standard for the purposes of government and other formal communication, based on a more modern (but still distinct from the common dialects) pronunciation of the language, with mostly the same spelling and grammar as the Lingua Sacra.
