Prime Minister Sargent is back on the campaign trailPrime Minister Claudia Sargent has been permitted by doctors to return to campaigning, and she has been arguing against the PLL's response to the recent attacks by monarchists. In a recent speech in Eroncourt, she said "The threat from monarchists has clearly died down, thanks to those at GBEN's hard work in searching for the rebels, and now that they have been arrested and are no longer a threat, I have returned to my residence in Eroncourt to get to work on a comprehensive bill that will prevent monarchists from doing this ever again. However, on the other side of the aisle, we are still seeing reactionary proposals from the PLL. For example, they recently proposed a bill that would not allow any advertising except from that that is from government organizations. This is outrageous! Now, small businesses will not be able to get their message out to the public. I urge all of you to fight against this bill. Sadly, however, the bill will pass because the PLL's leaders have ordered their members to vote for it, meaning that small businesses will not be able to get their message out. These types of backwards proposals are holding us back from entering the Sapphire Age! Lourenne will not be able to reach its full potential if we continue this reactionary course! This is why tomorrow, on the Chamber floor, I will be introducing a bill that will prevent monarchists from doing anything like this ever again. See, this type of thinking is forwards thinking. Thinking that tries to figure out something that will have a positive impact on the future, not on the past or present. This is the type of thinking we need to bring us into the Sapphire Age. Now, the backwards thinking promulgated by the PLL will only bring us backwards, to the times before the Golden Age when Lourenne was in turmoil. We must fight against this bill for fear of the days before the Golden Age coming to us once again." According to Jean-Baptiste Francourt, a PPD spokesperson, party members have been instructed to vote against the Monarchist Ban bill because "it is not the appropriate response." Said a statement released by Francourt on behalf of party deputies, "Shutting down advertisements on airwaves is not the correct way to respond to the Monarchist attacks. Instead, the PPD and its members support a comprehensive reform package that fights against monarchists and keeps guns out of the hands of criminals, such as the ones who stormed the Museum of National History and attempted to assassinate the Prime Minister."
